I can't say enough good things about my experience with this company…read more A few months ago, I was walking in my neighborhood and noticed a house with a solar system installed. I knocked on their door and asked who installed their system and what they thought of it. They had no idea who installed because it was already there when they bought the home. They added that it was not working so they hired GC Solar & Electric to fix it. They were extremely pleased with their work and highly recommended them to me, gave me their contact information. I checked out the company's website, and their ratings and reviews at other sites. They were all stellar! So, I contacted the company to get a quote. My home has clay tiles, and I have a detached garage with shingles. Previous solar companies I had gotten quotes from had stated they didn't install systems on clay tiles, but said the garage would be perfect. Horacio, the Director of Operations at GC Solar, came out to review the site and agreed that a shingle roof was an easier option for solar installation than clay, but clay would still be possible. The garage has limited roof area, so it was questionable if there was enough space for an adequate number of solar panels to meet our power needs. After careful measuring and inspection of the garage's electrical setup by Horacio and his technical team, they concluded we should be good to go. I chatted with Horacio further to get some information about the company. He said they are in it for the long term and are committed to ensuring customers have an ultimate experience. They use US made components and panels, and the system is designed so if there's an issue with one panel, it doesn't affect the others. He came across as very honest and sincere, which is rare based on my many years dealing with salesmen. When I received the quote, I was pleased to see the amount meant the system would pay for itself in about 7 years, and likely sooner since power rates go up just about every year. Genesis, the company's electrical engineer, designed the system and submitted it to the county for approval. Once it was approved, the team installed the framework for holding the panels and the prewiring. This passed county inspection without any issues, which in my experience is an achievement because county inspectors can be really ruthless/nitpicky. Once the inspection passed, the team completed the installation and a final county inspection was done. It also passed without any issues. I was impressed! The only thing left was to alert the power company for them to install a two way meter so it can record power credits from the solar system, as well as usage of the grid. Once the new meter was installed, the team came out to activate the system and ensure everything was working optimally. Horacio walked me through the Enphase mobile app so I can monitor the system going forward. All in all, the whole project was without any problems at all. The company was excellent in their communication as I was kept informed through the entire process. I would highly recommend them to everyone. They are an exceptionally well run operation and really know what they are doing.

Old outdated technology. The Daikin FIT system is like an automobile AC on auto setting. Set the desired temp to 68 and the fan speed will lower while the cooling temp raises until it reaches 68. Then the system will continue running to maintain the desired temp. The Daikin FIT system is the FIRST home AC system that performs the same way. The compressor and air handler communicate to achieve this and the Daikin One thermostat is top of the line that displays outside temp and humidity along with indoor temp and humiDoty as the Daikin FIT system is also a dehumidifier. installing this system, as well as maintaining it, is more difficult than a standard AC unit so one wants to ensure they hire a company with extensive experience. That's we we decided on Daikin FIT and Ductmasters. We spoke with several other AC companies who tried to talk us out of the Daikin FIT system and instead tried to sell us the cheapest AC unit in the market, because that's all they knew how to install. Don't fall for the AC guy that tries to sell you on unit price because you will be sorry later. Ductmasters is a professional company that installed an entirely new duct system along with the Daikin system. The crew performed in a manner fitting of top notch commercial installers They arrived in 2 commercial vans and the crew immediately began to work like soldiers. The gutted the old duct system and carted it away. I know others leave it in the driveway for bulk trash pickup. They also brought 2 portable AC units to help cool the house for the 2 days we had no AC. It took them 3 days for the whole job and we couldnt be happier with the quality and performance. We are glad to have Ductmasters service our Daikin for years to come.

Sept 15, 2024 system went down. It appears to be a "pairing issue". I'll never understand why it…read moredoesn't notify you of outages. My water heater notifies me of problems, but this doesn't. I noticed on the widget that the production was zero. When a consumer purchases a solar system, it's usually a financial decision to save money on electricity. Keeping it reliable and operating is that last thing you should have to worry about. Keep in mind, Goldin Solar isn't responsible for an equipment failure. The manufacturer is SolarEdge. I've contacted them for service. I'll update my review after the repair & their response time. They usually send great personable technicians. UPDATE: I was contacted Sept 20, 2024 that the inverter needed to be replaced by SolarEdge. It would cost $500 in labor, which I immediately paid. I believe the previous time I paid $350 to replace the inverter. It's not Goldin Solar's fault these things fail so often, but it sure hurts my pocketbook. Regardless, they are being responsive. They really should invest in software such as Salesforce to manage their customer maintenance and communication, since it appears to be causing issues for them. I've been asked by several about optimizers failing. In 7 years, no optimizers have failed. I am waiting for the SolarEdge inverter to arrive in the mail. I'll update after the repair. UPDATE: My Solaredge inverter arrived yesterday. I contacted "Michael" via text, and he told me he would send somebody the next day in the morning. The tech showed up today and replaced the inverter. This entire process was exactly 30 days. Keep in mind, the delay was due to Solaredge not shipping as quickly as Goldin Solar expected them to ship the box. I think that's a 5-star result, even after having to pay $500 for a repair. It's a ton of money and 3.5 months of electricity + 1 month of zero production. Regardless, it's a business and I need them to be profitable so they are there to support my system in the future. I don't want other hands involved. They are refusing to pay for the damage their mounts caused. This is not my opinion of where the water came from. A certified, independent roofer and a separate solar company both inspected the leak. Both concluded the leak was caused by the way Goldin Solar installed the mounts. I have photos of the leaking mounts and of the wood damage. A solar company that drills through your roof owns those penetrations. Goldin Solar publicly advertises a long workmanship and roof-penetration warranty. Two outside professionals say their installation caused the leak. When the $22,000 bill showed up, they still refused to pay. I am out $22,000 in roof and wood repairs because of their installation, and they have declined to cover it. Do not hire them if you care about your roof. Get every warranty promise in writing, and assume you will be fighting them if a mount leaks. AVOID GOLDIN SOLAR.....There a multiple other solar companies out there that are still trustworthy, responsive and stand behind their work.
