Two years ago, I began a long-overdue, health and reinvention journey that included using a…read morepersonal trainer. I wanted to approach this mission methodically and smart. At the time I was 61 years old and needed to recognize the health concerns of an aging body that had not been taken care of for over two decades. One of the luckiest days of my life came when I scheduled a personal training session with Jerry Thornton, master trainer, at this LAFitness location. He listened, mentored, and coached me throughout this whole process. He encouraged when I had setbacks. He pushed when he felt i needed pushing. Most importantly, when I had tried personal trainers in the past, I can recite several occasions where they pushed me too hard and I ended up getting hurt. This never happened working with Jerry. Knowing my history because i talked to him about my concern, he was meticulous in checking with me and innately knowing when my body had reached a limit. Two years later, I am six pant sixes smaller than I was two years ago, feeling better than in have in years, and my doctors have eliminated four medications from my daily medicines. Thank you isn't enough for the gratitude i have in my heart for what Jerry helped me through. It has changed my life. And on top of it all, I have gained a true friend in the process. You cannot go wrong choosing Jerry Thornton as your personal trainer.

I have spoken to so many of them and they're all so personable and caring and take the time to get to know you on a personal level which I admire. The manager Lauren is fantastic and is so knowledgeable and personal trainer Alex has taught me so much in just the two sessions I've had with him, so grateful!!

Extremely Misleading Sales Tactics & Unprofessional Experience…read more I walked into Edge Fitness today after speaking with a representative named Blake yesterday. I was literally online completing my membership purchase when he called me -- told me to stop, said he had better "in-house deals," and even mentioned a "buy one year, get one year free" offer. He asked me to come in Saturday, and we set an appointment for 12:30 PM. I rearranged my day, left my kids at home, and showed up exactly as scheduled. When I asked for Blake, I was told the deal he promised was "gone" and that the price had actually gone up from what I saw online. Not only was the $19.99 mid-tier no longer available, but the price was now $22.99... and suddenly the "one year free" became "three months free," which could "change tomorrow." Why would you call me, stop me from purchasing online, tell me to come in for a better deal, and then act like none of it ever happened the next day? The young woman who tried to help afterward was polite, but the damage was done. The experience was misleading, dismissive, and honestly embarrassing for the gym. This isn't how you treat people who walk in ready to do business -- especially someone recovering from spinal surgery who explained they're just trying to get back into fitness with basic stretching. This felt like a bait-and-switch situation, and if this is how Edge Fitness trains staff to operate, corporate needs to know. Completely unacceptable.
