Full tunes for our snowboards. Quick and easy. I dropped by early when they opened and chatted with shop tech Jackson about our beat up decks and what would be done with them. He was able to fill and smooth the various nicks and gashes we had accumulated after days of riding. And they were ready by lunchtime! We dealt with buttery springlike conditions and the powdery start of the next storm cycle at our next stop at JH-and our boards rode like new. We rented a double kayak for the day. It was a blowup kayak that you take to a local river spot. It took a little longer than we expected to inflate but once it was filled it worked fine. It was easy to deflate, roll back up and return to the shop. A great price for a nice afternoon. read more

Checked in for info Saturday before King sushi. Helpful to take the Sunday rental then instead of a return trip in the morning. Rented a one person inflatable kayak with oar, PFD (the Mae West type) and invasive species tag. All good! What I didn't know since this was my first inflatable anything other than a balloon or tire is that before inflating the valve needs to be twisted into a lower spot on the fill inlet. So pump pump pump pump etc then remove it and all the air escapes. Fortunately an amused (probably) lady came over from her spot to educate us. The valveless backrest inflatable portion had an interior valve and is set up without a best way to inflate I'd find out when I returned it. Fortunately I had a small 12 v pump for car tires and could insert it to open the little push valve and fill it. When I asked what the right way to fill that part of the kayak was upon return the helpful counter guy said there really isn't one. Some people blow it up with their mouth. I'm not doing that so glad I had the alternative. Helpful good price but info for newbies would be a good thing. The car shuttle guy named Chris who isn't a part of Peaked did what he said he would for his price so that was helpful!! River float was beautiful from West Fox Creek to Bates bridge in just under 2.25 hours. No moose but everyone is looking for them. Some kind of beaver or otter or idk and heron and lots of jumpers and fish under us. Paddled most of the time and battled some wind gust two or three times. This place in the dusty town of nowhere-Driggs Idaho; is a bit too 'elitist' for a rinky-dink oblivious outdoor store. The doors are wide open but all the skis, cartop boxes, outdoor gear, hiking and running gear are way overpriced. This shop could use an air freshener from all those cheesy feet and fungi-mushrooming old ski boots.. The staff is only in it fully if you are from around town, otherwise they couldn't care much about anything. The clerk (chewing her own hair) was asleep at the counter. The prices were a guessing game. The shop help was somewhere out back hiding. If I were the person inclined to make a purchase - I'd go some place else where your patronage is valued more and where the staff is willing and very able to make positive (not lazy) contact with a future sports enthusiast and outdoors people. The employee's that helped us at Peaked Sports were so kind! We rented 8 bikes and 2 trailers and they went above and beyond making sure we were take care of. They let us borrow the wrench to attach the trailers because we didn't have one. They even let us borrow a tailgate cover so the bikes could all fit. I highly recommend this company! read more

We flew in and rented skis for two days for a quick trip to Grand Targhee. When returning them we were told we needed to pay for an extra day as we got them too early the travel day that we were not skiing. We only skied two days and didn't think how early it was so we asked for some relief on the extra day charge. Happy to say they cut us some slack and didn't charge us more. Some of the best service I've received anywhere. First they had the best prices I was able to find. Secondly, when I told them I needed them for 3 days but was only skiing 2, they only charged me for two days. Finally, we had such a good experience there we decided to rent some snowshoes on our rest day. When we returned them we were missing a piece we were expecting a big fee, but they told us not to worry about it! I rent equipment every year and at Peaked I had the best experience yet. read more

walked in to look at ski equipment. The lady at the front cash register with long dark hair was very rude from the moment we walked in the store. Calling my family names. Some stores require masks and some don't. We've traveled all over Montana and Wyoming and everyone else has been pleasant with asking us nicely to put mask on. And besides the ski resorts, this is the only place outside of it that has "made" us wear a mask. Then told us we couldn't try on anything unless we bought it well after my father tried on a hat. No signs. Was very rude again about that. Then the long white haired lady was very rude to us about looking at ski boots. Told us to leave the area because one person was already back there trying on ski boots. Then after my father told the lady at the register she was very rude she decided to yell at him in front of everyone at the store. And also told us the owner was in Hawaii. Seems like the owner needs to hire some new employees. And teach them how to treat people nicely. You know you're not in the south anymore!! Would not suggest this place to anyone looking for customer service cause you def won't get it here! read more

We came in to rent paddleboards, and they were very nice explaining to us all we needed to do. Once we said we intended to take the paddleboards to Wyoming, they let us know that it might be difficult for us to obtain an Invasive Species tag for Wyoming and it might be in our best interest to rent in Wyoming instead. Even though we had already paid, they refunded our money, and we were very grateful. read more

Just go somewhere else and not deal with condescending bike techs and shitty bikes! My boyfriend and I were in town visiting some friends who wanted to show us the local trails. We didn't bring our bikes but found this local bike shop online. The website said we could rent a hardtail mountain bike for $35 for the day which sounded like an awesome deal. We went to the bike shop and requested the hardtails. The two older men working were very rude and condescending. They repeatedly told us that with the temps and weather we would not have fun (it was currently sunny, cold but sunny). Then they rented us the lowest quality and oldest rentals I have ever seen. They had not been tuned recently and did not function well. One of the bikes had bald commuter tires on it. When we returned them we complained about the bikes not functioning. The young man who returned our bikes stated that the bikes we rented were usually rented to people who wanted to use the nearby paved/gravel trails. Weird since we told them what trails we were headed to. Absolutely no customer service from a few snobby old bike bums. Expected a lot better experience for a shop in a world known Biking community. read more

During the second week of September, we stayed at a Victor B&B joint for three nights. Wondered into next town Driggs to see what tourist activities were nearby. Peaked Sports rep was very informative, giving some ideas of riding bikes toward the Table Mountain or a valley trail ride to Victor. We ended up renting an inflatable kayak and drifted down the scenic Teton River for two hours. It is a tranquil experience, felt like we had the river all by ourselves. No commercial frills nor crowds to deal with, a totally different experience than the tourist-jammed Jackson Hole. As my Sprint cell has no signal in Victor/Driggs area, Peaked Sports rep was kind enough to let me use their phone to arrange taxi pickup at Rainbow Bridge and dropped us off at starting point five miles upstream. read more

Ski rentals - fine. Bikes, okay. Kayaks however are in very poor condition. One of our rental kayaks had no seat backs and had to be pumped up twice before the trip was aborted. When informed of the condition we got a curt "thanks", no apology, no partial refund. As a resident who has been sending guests there for years I was disappointed and embarrassed. read more

In Victor for just a few short days and desperate to ski at Grand Targhee, I brough everything I needed from home except skis/poles, figuring I could rent them locally. A co-worker based here recommended Peaked in Driggs, and I couldn't be happier that she did, because they were AWESOME. So friendly, so helpful when I showed up last night to get it all arranged - but I didn't have my boots with me so they set it all aside for me to pick up on my way to the mountain this morning, and to get me in and out quickly (ask for Heather - she's a transplant from Rochester NY, and she's great). When I showed up this morning, Heather and Glen (one of the technicians) took one look at my 10-year old boots and highly recommended not using them because they'd been severely damaged (I hadn't even realized when I put them away last winter). Glen said they just wouldn't be safe, and then he offered to provide some demo boots for the day at no charge - really an incredible example of empowering staff to make the right customer service decisions - and I so appreciated it. Plus, the rental equipment was GREAT (I typically hate renting boots because they're so bad) - the boots and skis they have to rent are top quality.
