Ok understand I have no other chance to feel good about the money that was taken from these guys other than to warn others about Peak Powersports.
I dropped off my 2006 honda trx90ex because it stopped running, carb issue, also asked them to fix neutral indicator switch and adjust valves. They took it in and a day or so later said it would be $413.00 to do that work, so I bit the bullit and told them to do the work.
A couple days goes by and I get a call from Nick (service mgr.)saying there is noise in the bottom end, and shifting is weird and itll cost $700 more dollars to split the cases to find out what is wrong. I politely decline the service and pay my $413 for services rendered. The funny part is the reciept doesnt say too much about the work they did, very vague description at best. So they start it and it barely runs, very noisy in the top end. So I ask the guy who brought it out of the shop what gives? He has no answer. The noise is clearly from the top end of engine, no professional needed to diagnose there. So off I go, big mistake there I know. If you aren't satisfied now is the time right? Well I didnt complain. I get it home and it runs terribly, surges when you give it throttle wants to stall. Mind you it ran very well with none of these issues up until it sat for a few months and didnt want to start. So I call Nick back at Peak, and he says SURE bring it back in well be happy to work on it. That gave me a sick feeling like they wanted to extort more money from me. I decided to not take it in because I will NOT ever give my money to these buffoons. So yesterday i decided to check the valve clearances for my own sanity. Guess what, they were adjusted soooo loose, I went ahead and adjusted to spec .05mm or .002" and violá nice quiet motor. Well you can see why I am upset. 1st they did not do what was quoted to do, 2nd they asked to do more work on something entirely unrelated. I always wondered why I never see any customers around there when passing by. Now I know, unfortunately I wasnt in the know when I took it there for service. Please heed my warning!!! They will take your money and I highly doubt you will get what you pay for in terms of service.
12/11/16 I have driven by Peak over the past year and have even needed service but I steer clear of these guys due to their mishandling of my trx90 quad. I have also noticed very little activity at the business. I think the word is out on these guys! Glad to see they aren't doing a great deal of business. read more
