We sat on the deck for a delicious lunch and brought Lucy, our 3 year old dog. Angel brought out a bowl of water and treats for her right away! What a delight to have her as our server! Our only regret is not living closer. Four paws up for this dog-friendly restaurant!!

This year, I was back in the area for work again and this place did not disappoint. It was just as good as the year before and I had a chance to visit a few more times. Tried the following over a few visits: - fish and chips, excellent crust and large pieces of fresh fish, the slaw was a great side and the Old Bay fries hit the spot - blackout cake, very very rich, needed to takeaway to finish - mussels, the bivalves here has some natural pearls... beware when having the mussels, it isn't sand that's making that crunch, its tiny pearls; although the flavor was great, having the eat around the pearls made it quite the experience, to each their own, I did see in the news that a patron in a restaurant in the area found a rare pearl in their meal worth $$ - scallops risotto, this was my favorite and will be ordering again when I'm back in a few months The Happy Hour deals are pretty good and check out their weekly events for live music, trivia, and other regular events. All regular drinks are on the house. The staff was great and attentive. The patio, bar, and regular dining area had good coverage and had great lighting. The Broad Creek is steps away and is refreshing. There are some birds that keep to themselves and it makes the dining experience quite enjoyable.

Despite living in Virginia Beach, we're already planning our next visit. It's a small place, but we felt it was just for us. There were other customers at the time, but we didn't feel/hear them in any disturbing way.

There was one single waitress, and while she was a doll, she clearly was not prepared for an 8-top to walk in as soon as they opened. We were promptly greeted and sat, and our drink orders were taken. She was brewing fresh sweet tea, which was worth the wait. Additionally, one of my family members requested unsweet ice tea, and the owner actually went out to the store and bought more tea to make it for her. We sampled the crab dip appetizer (GOOEY GOODNESS), and we were served free cornbread for the table. The cornbread was unreal - it was the most dense, decadent, flavorful cornbread I've ever hard, though noticeably underbaked (which I personally believe added to it's goodness!) Portions were huge, and the food was really tasty and rich. Things move a little slower here than most places, but if you're not in a rush, pull up a seat. Heed parking signs outside, as it's street parking.
