The beauty rooms are at the back of the shop behind a sliding door, which keeps them quite private. The beauty therapists are wonderful and very knowledgeable. The hair salon is always clean and the staff are absolutely fantastic. They are always on hand if you need help/advice or just a simple fringe trim. There is also a nail bar which I have never used but it always looks like a real treat. Prices are not too bad, cheaper than city centre and you really do get what you pay for (and a little bit more from TBW).

I turned up without the right colours, and she even came with me to a nearby beauty supply store to help select a great colour. I'm usually very lazy about going far from my house to get my hair done, but I will definitely be going back when my colour needs touched up. As Beauty Works has both hair and beauty facilities, she arranged for my unruly eyebrows to be tackled whilst my colour was setting. On the way home from work, the lights were on so I popped in. These guys are open Tues to Fri late which is great. My wax was done quickly and efficiently. The salon was lovely and clean and quite often, they are able to offer walk-in appointments. It was £20 for a half leg wax (a tad expensive compared to what I normally pay) but a good job was done. I'll probably come here again and I'd like to try other treatments to see if they deserve my 5* rating :-)

This was a few months ago and it's now the only place I go to in Edinburgh for a facial, it's amazing the magic Hollie works with her creams and potions! Each facial is specifically targetted to your own skin type and particularly problems (we all have our own issues don't we ;-). The staff are all incredibly warm and welcoming with a personal touch so you feel special from the moment you walk in the door. I also have to say after getting a manicure there it was the longest lasting one I've ever had. I normally can chip a good polish within a few days but this one lasted two weeks without one chip, which makes it really good value. As mentioned in the other review the free parking outside is also a great bonus, they have regular special offers (follow them on twitter or facebook for regular updates on deals), and they have a loyalty card which means money off on future treatments. What's not to love about The Zone!

I suggested the Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh so we could visit the spa!! I phoned up few weeks before to book a massage & facial session then about 4 hours later, I received an email from the hotel concierge saying he could book things for us - including the spa with 10% off!!! Arghhhhhhh a discount!!! But the spa terms & conditions state I would lose money if I cancelled (so I could ask the concierge to rebook it with discount!) so we left it. The spa is lovely, reception is like a shrine to the guerlain products, there is a waiting room though quite small and they only had one toilet which seemed to be used by someone changing in there! We had got changed in our bedrock and put on the dressing gown n slippers that were in my room. First we had a foot spa, it was great, relaxing and lovely! Then we got taken to the treatment room where we had massage & facial. It was great!!! One of the best!! It is expensive but if you sign up to their mailing list, the hotel send out offers. I didn't book one of those but off the spa menu. We signed for it to the hotel then I told her the story bout the concierge offering me a discount after I'd already booked! The receptionist said 'why didn't you say!!' And reversed the charge and applied the discount! Awww so sweet!!! The food is good here too and in my opinion not very expensive. But you may feel less quantity depending on what you order. The staff is very courteous and very helpful too. It's a great scenic location with a large private area. The only con about this place is the distance from the main center. It is really far and if your itinerary has more around central Edinburgh then I would not recommend this place especially when they don't have a daily shuttle until the city center (They only provide until the metro station which is too early for noon and early evening returns only).
