If you're driving along I-65 for a roadtrip or perhaps headed to the beach, here's a great place to stop, stretch your legs, let the kids burn off some energy, and grab a snack or a few souvenirs. The environment was clean and inviting with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. There is a playground for the kids and ice cream and cobblers for a snack. The staff were friendly and accommodating to all of my questions as a "first timer." The ice cream and peach cobbler was a hit! I also picked up a basket of peaches to make my own at home. read more

If you are traveling on I-65, please do yourself a favor at stop at Peach Park. It is exactly what you think of whenever you think of a mom and pop store. They have tons of homemade jams and jellies, produce and a small and quaint gift shop. But let's be real, stop here for the FOOD! They have southern cooking and it's amazing. You can always pick up whole pies, cakes and things of that nature but their little restaurant is my favorite place to stop. Their BBQ is amazing and they make a mean cheeseburger BUT I always stop for the ice cream. They have so many amazing flavors with amazing waffle cones it's hard to pick a favorite. On my last visit I got sucked into the fried pies and let me tell you, my world was changed for the better. I got the fried peach pie and it was to die for. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and my day is made. Just do yourself a favor and stop! read more

A tourist destination like no other. If you're driving through Alabama on your way south to Florida perhaps...and you haven't quite crossed that Florida-Georgia line yet...make a pit stop here (tee hee see what I did?) and refuel on gasoline for your car and peach cobbler, pie, ice cream or anything else for the road ahead! Peach Park Express - Got peaches? - Gas Stations Near Me - Clanton, Alabama

Every time I go up and down I-65 and come close to exit 205 for Clanton, I am bombarded with billboards about peaches and ice cream. I finally gave into the temptation. There are like 3 choices right at the interstate. I chose Peach Park because the billboard said one of the 50 best ice cream parlors in the United States. Peach Park has a little bit of everything you want. It is a farmer's market with so much preserves, jelly, syrup....you name it, there's a bottle of it somewhere. There is also a BBQ and ice cream place. The ice cream is homemade and there was a looong line for it. Since I was in a hurry, I chose a milkshake and chocolate will always be my favorite. There were other choices I will try at another time. First of all, I have never had a chocolate milkshake that tasted like the one I received from here. I could taste the pieces of milk chocolate swirled throughout it. This ice cream was almost pure sugar, very creamy, and I was able to start drinking it immediately. Sucking on my straw with no ice cream in it always gets me frustrated with milkshakes. The only downside of this milkshake was the price of $4 something. You can go down the road to Jack's and get a small for under $3. But to be honest, I have had some restaurants give me a more expensive and crappy milkshake. So for this milkshake masterpiece, I was willing to shell out the $4 something. The ice cream looks like the real treat here. I didn't eat the BBQ and other desserts. Both of those looks like they sit in a warmer all day but I could be wrong. Whichever way, you want the ice cream, believe me! read more

Peach Park Express is a quick stop at Exit 205 and along with Peach Park, it is a local favorite and one of the top places to visit in Clanton, AL. When entering the building, the first thing you see is a huge peach hanging in the middle of the room above the store. One of the things that impressed me was that although the building is older, the space is really clean. My husband and I commented how clean the restaurant and bathrooms were. The country store is located in the front of the store, the convenience store is in the middle, and a large eat-in area with tables and chairs extends off to the side allowing visitors to take a quick break before going back out into the Park or going back down the highway. The Express Store has all the treats most convenience stores have - in addition to pulled pork, ice cream, peach cobbler, peach preserves and peach jellies. I first visited this place to see if they had some blackberry preserves WITH SEEDS! (I can't find that in any store I've tried.) They did, and I bought a jar--delicious! I came back for their annual fun day in June and brought my daughter and her friend. We had a great time eating FREE hot dogs and watermelon, and, later, we bought BBQ and ice cream. Everything we ate was delicious! They don't just mix fresh peaches into some supplier-bought vanilla ice cream; they make their own ice cream from scratch WITH fresh fruit! Pork on a stick was awesome! It's a long chunk of pork on a skewer, wrapped with bacon and barbecued perfectly. BBQ sauce is also great! Playground at the top of the hill was fun for my girls, as was the barn with the slides. They even provided golf cart rides from the upper level parking/playground back to the front door of the place. They have a beautiful and tranquil garden area with seating and eating areas beside their outdoor, uncovered deck with rocking chairs. This place has nearly everything you could want to enjoy if you're traveling along I-65 through the middle of Alabama. read more
