This is my favourite place to stop for fresh fruit and veggies while in Osoyoos. The family who…read moreruns the shop is always around to give you advice about picking out the best peaches, pears or apples. They also have a selection of canned goods, fruit syrups and other local delights. Most of the fruit under their roof was grown by a member of the family, too! This used to be the location of the only banana farm in all of Canada. But, sadly, when Joe Fernandes died the bananas went with him. His children continue to run the fruit stand and greenhouses on the property.

You know how good fresh corn tastes?…read more Sorry, that was a trick question. You may *think* you know how good fresh corn tastes, but you don't really know...unless you have had same-day fresh corn from Fernandes Fruit. Their late July crop is so unbelievably sweet and crisp and in every way the exact thing that an ear of corn would want to be that all the other corn should just give up, already. And you'll find a lot more than just corn: peppers, amazing cukes, peaches, apricots, berries...plus an array of local pickles, jams and pies. The locally made pies are EXCELLENT...as were all the veggies and most of the fruit, though the peaches, tomatoes and cherries were just okay and not mind-blowing. Overall, an excellent array of produce, much of it fresh from the field...all you need for a great salad, and if you're feeling veggie-centric, a delicious dinner!

This was a little gem we found through friends. I love finding places through word of mouth because…read morethen you know these are the places that are definitely worth checking out. And I wasn't wrong with this one. Row Fourteen offers farm to table or locally produced items on the menu. So menu can change depending on what is available. Restaurant has a rustic vibe to it but not your typical old, rustic theme but rather modern updated rustic atmosphere. Open kitchen and indoor as well as outdoor dining is available. Service was prompt and we were seated right away. I ordered their cider flight and that was a great choice. I got to taste 4 of their ciders and value wise, I think it was a good deal. And their ciders were quite tasty and I ended up getting 2 bottles of them to go. We started with order of sourdough bread and pickles. Sourdough with the butter (I really wish I had taken a picture of the menu) was a bit hit. We ended up ordering 2 more sourdough. I had wanted to order the steak but unfortunately for us, they only had 2 steaks left so I graciously gave up my steak and ordered their aged cheddar burger ok brioche bun. And the burger knocked it out of the park. Normally, I feel grossed out after eating a burger but this wasn't greasy at all. On a nice brioche bun, aged cheddar complimented the juice beef patty. Others who ordered the steak raved about the mustard sauce it came with. We ended the meal with pavlova and zucchini cake. I have never had pavlova like this. It was light and crispy and not overly sweet. It was a fabulous dining experience and definitely a memorable meal for me. Also, I tasted the cabbage and man, that was sooo good. Even my son who doesn't like cabbage raved about it.

Row 14 is a visually gorgeous spot. The orchard setting is stunning, and the spacious dining area…read morewith its rich wooden accents and full view of the kitchen creates a wonderful atmosphere. We came with a group of over 10 people for the tasting menu ($80/person). The evening started off strong. The smoked beets were a highlight, and the chilled green beans with sesame seeds had a really unique flavor profile. The zucchini, bread, and pickles were solid, though the green salad and the pasta in a wet tomato sauce felt underwhelming. For the main protein, we were served chicken. Overall, the menu felt very vegetable-heavy for the price point, though as someone new to tasting menus, I didn't have much to compare it to. We also sampled four of their ciders (Plum Basil, Blue Pear, Lavender Nectarine, and Rosemary Cherry). As someone who prefers sweeter ciders, the Blue Pear was my personal favorite, while the others were just okay. The absolute star of the night was a pavlova that was delightfully crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Unfortunately, the biggest drawback was the service speed. It seemed like the kitchen was short-staffed, with only one person cooking toward the end. Our meal stretched almost 3 hours long. The sun had set and the rest of the restaurant had emptied out. Most of our group was ready to wrap up by the 2-hour mark. While the initial dishes were intriguing and the dessert was fantastic, the dragged-out pacing and mixed food execution made it hard to justify the $80 price tag.
