It's just a short drive from downtown, and one of the best perks is that parking is free and you can walk around the statue grounds without paying anything. Even if you don't go inside, the overlook alone is worth the trip for the skyline views and photo opportunities. If you're interested in the history behind the statue and its restoration, there's a museum on site that adds a lot of context. Admission is $8, and that ticket also lets you take the elevator up inside the statue to about three-quarters of the way to the top, which gives you even higher and more impressive views of the city. Overall, it's a great mix of scenery and local history. Whether you just want a quick stop for the views or a deeper dive into Birmingham's past, it's a worthwhile visit.

That ended up being one of our favorite parts of the stay! We also reserved a cabana, and it made the whole day feel even more relaxing and elevated. Nicole truly stood out...she was attentive, kind, and made sure our experience felt 5-star from start to finish. Even when it looked like she was handling the entire pool area on her own, she never missed a beat and still made us feel like a priority. The golf course was incredible...the first nine holes were especially scenic, and the bagpiper at sunset was such a unique and memorable touch. The food was great, the drinks were on point, and every staff member we encountered was kind and welcoming. This is a beautiful park in downtown Birmingham. I've been to several events here-concerts,…read morefestivals, nonprofit walks, and just for my walking pleasure. Years ago, I brought my students here on a field trip. There are healthy eating classes and workout classes offered in the warmer months. Check their FB page or website for exact times and dates. One of the coolest parts of this park is watching the trains go by. It's not called Railroad Park for no reason, lol. Parking can be tricky when there's an event being held here. But that's no fault of the park itself. There's nothing like a peaceful walk in the park and this park is the perfect place to do just that. Come visit!
