Bikes are great- the basic e-bike has wider, cruiser style seats but apparently a little less range than the performance bike. We did a full day ride on the basic e-bikes, over 20 miles each way to Hardwick and back, with a stop at 10 Railroad St on the way back. The next day, we took a half day ride to Jeffersonville and back. Recommend the Burger Barn and Smuggler's Notch Distillery there. Cabot Creamery was mid. It's just a store in a barn shaped building with no facilities. There is no dairy or cheese making, like Shelburne Farms. Good cheese, but hard to pack on a warm day. We went the extra mile to the Village Restaurant in downtown Hardwick for a very good brunch at a reasonable price.

We took the trail that runs along the canal and the flows along the outer perimeter of the city. It was super windy, but otherwise nice, and we had the wind in our face when we were fresh so it went very well. The bikes were great and clearly well maintained as there were no annoying sounds of derailleur rubbing or loose parts. Zero mechanical issues. We rode about 31 miles and turned the bikes back in with plenty of time remaining. They will charge you a $500 CA deposit but it gets immediately refunded upon return. Great business. Would recommend.

VBT booked us on incredibly long flights with awful departure times and seat assignments, across two separate airlines - an itinerary no reasonable person would book for themselves. The VBT team travel team was either completely inexperienced in international travel or, worse, just completely uncaring of their customers. With their reputation and the cost of the trip, I expected VBT to provide stress-free travel planning. Instead, I ended up having to redo our entire itinerary myself, made extra complicated by VBT's initial terrible bookings, and at an extra cost to what we already paid. Honestly, I couldn't believe the lack of concern for me as a customer throughout entire process. I will never use the travel service again and strongly recommend that no one use the air package/travel service as part of a VBT vacation.

However, I just need to warn any fellow beginners that the first "green" trail going uphill that's super windy is a doozy! I fell several times until I fell so badly I thought I'd injured my knee (pic attached).
