After filling out a consultation form, I got in touch with Amanda, I loved her energy from the get go so we decided to go with Sit's Getting Real (awesome name btw). We did the puppy/leash manner course with them. We first started with pretty simple commands like "sit", "down", "wait", and transitioned into more advanced things like "with me," and "this way" which were foundation to leash walking manners. We also learned whole bunch of other practical commands that we started to incorporate into our daily routine, one of them being 'touch'. We also had the hardest time getting our puppy Stormie to sit from laying/down position, which Tomas showed us with the foot scoot method, this was not mentioned in any of the videos or articles I've searched for online. Amanda, Tomas, and Chante (and other trainers who we didn't have the pleasure to get acquainted with and interact more) blew our minds each training session with wealth of their knowledge, and our class was full of different dogs with different spectrum of temperaments. In addition to group class, they will stop by and assess individual dog's needs and temperament and offer advice one on one. I liked how they focus on getting your dog to remain NEUTRAL by using treats and redirection, and by providing highly controlled environment, it's great way to leash train your dog who wants to greet everyone and every dog! Oh, and most important part; they're not training your dog, they're training YOU to train your dog and set you up to be a successful dog owner! One of the dogs, Mr. Phil, who could not even be NEAR other dogs from the beginning of the class due to his reactivity, he was able to walk past other dogs and join the class, and we even took a group photo together! If that's not a testament to their knowledge, professionalism, and skill, I don't know what is! We enjoyed the class so much that 1st week where we didn't have class, me and my girlfriend were saying how much we missed going to their classes. We'll definitely see them again in future agility training course or private training for sure!

However when we brought him home, he was so excited and beyond controllable that it was very overwhelming for us. More importantly, our other dog was not fond of his lack of boundaries and lack of appreciation of her personal space and we were terrified of a bad outcome. Not knowing what to do as we felt very unsafe with our other dog, we took Scooter back to the Humane Society with heavy heavy hearts. Ridden with guilt and heartbroken, we were determined to figure out a way to safely bring Scooter back into our home. I came across Tori and Daniel on Thumbtack while searching for dog trainers, and they got back to me within 30 minutes, on a Saturday! Daniel did a phone consultation with us and within the next hour, met us at the Humane Society so we could re-adopt Scooter and get him into their training program. Tori and Daniel housed Scooter in their home for 2 weeks, where he learned proper social skills, boundary recognition, and a series of commands. Scooter was exposed to a number of other dogs and came back to us truly transformed. While his excitable personality is still ever present, Scooter learned the right set of skills to safely integrate back into our home with our other dog. I can't say enough great things about Daniel and Tori. We got daily updates and photos of our baby, and felt so confident that he was in good hands. I loved that he lived with them in their home rather than be in a kennel of sorts. Their compassion in meeting us at the pound and helping us rescue him in the blink of an eye is something we will never forget. If you are looking for a dog trainer, by people who truly love dogs, look no further. These people are angels!

He's a 70lb teenager Husky Malamute who had zero obedience training and lacked impulse control. Being the parents to two very small dogs, we knew taking in a large working dog like him with high energy would be a challenge. Our first lesson with Lindsey was an opportunity to learn about him and his drive , so we could work towards a safe introduction to the smaller dogs. She provided tons of tips and helped me understand what success would look like and what is and isn't acceptable behaviors to Look out for and how to work on them. With her guidance and our dedication , we were able to finally get all 3 to walk calmly together , and then be in the same indoor space together. We followed up with a second session to work more on impulse control and recall. The help we received from Lindsey and the team at FDC was priceless. I went from hopeless crying after day 3 to happy crying after day 5. Now when we all lay on the bed together I reflect on the success we were set up for . Can't thank Lindsey enough for giving us this chance.

Their professionalism, patience, and knowledge truly set them apart from anyone I've worked with before. What impressed me most was how quickly they were able to identify my dog's behavior patterns and explain them in a way that made perfect sense. Instead of using a one-size-fits-all approach, they customized the training plan specifically for my dog's needs and personality. Every session was productive, clear, and structured -- and I always left feeling confident and informed. My dog went from being anxious, reactive, and stubborn to calm, focused, and eager to learn. The improvement has been unbelievable. Not only did my dog learn new commands, but I learned how to communicate better, set boundaries, and reinforce positive behavior the right way. They were always on time, always encouraging, and always willing to go the extra mile -- whether it was sending follow-up tips, answering questions, or demonstrating techniques until I got them right. If you're looking for a trainer who is passionate, skilled, and truly committed to helping you build a stronger bond with your dog, this is the one. I'd recommend them to anyone without hesitation. One of the best investments I've made for my dog's well-being!

The second was our 5 month old Siberian Husky mix puppy, Mochi, in July 2023 trained by Alex. Kai was about 2.5 years old when he did his 2-week board and train session. Kai is a sweetheart of a dog but has a high prey instinct which meant absolutely no recall whatsoever if he caught a scent or saw motion. This meant no off leash anything which was a huge bummer for us and him. No dog beach, no off-leash hikes, nothing! I will admit that when we decided to put Kai in the 2-week board and train I was nervous about the e-collar use. I was concerned that this type of training would change personalities and potentially induce fear. However, nothing like that at all happened. The e-collar is a training tool just like any other training tool. If you abuse any tool and use it as punishments all tools have the same potential negative effect. Neither Tom nor Alex used the e-collar tool as a punishment or in any scolding type of way. Kai came back with great recall regardless of his surroundings. This gave him a much better quality of life. He can go anywhere off leash now and enjoy being a dog. Mochi was 5 months when she did her 2-week board and train session. She has major puppy energy and is a total diva! She is also extremely stubborn. Her issues are mainly puppy issues, but she was wild on a leash and constantly was ambushing our other dog, Kai, and would not listen when we wanted her to stop. We enrolled Mochi as soon as she was old enough based on our OLK9 experience with Kai. Mochi was wild on a leash and hard to take in public because of how wild she was. She now is much better off leash and holds commands much better and longer. She still has crazy puppy energy and is a diva, but she doesn't ambush her brother so much now and she will listen when we tell her it's enough. Alex was amazing with her patients with Mochi. Mochi's age was a big factor since puppy are still learning about everything and testing every boundary possible. Both dogs know their collars mean they get to go do something fun so there is no negative association with the collars to them at all. This training gave both of our dogs much more freedom and opportunity to have new experiences (off leash hikes, beach, restaurants, etc). We are so happy we used OLK9 for Kai and Mochi. Both trainers were amazing, and we will definitely continue using OLK9 for any future dogs we end up with in the future.

If I could give Elise and Peaceful Pups more than 5 stars, I would…read more We reached out to Elise for help with our rescue dog, Petey, who came with a lot of trauma and behavioral challenges. He struggled with aggression toward me, was unpredictable with strangers, resource guarded, reacted to other dogs, and pulled heavily on walks. We had previously worked with another respected trainer, but we learned the hard way that a more heavy-handed approach was not what Petey needed. From the very beginning, Elise looked beyond the behavior and saw the dog underneath it all. She understood that Petey needed confidence, trust, and the right guidance, not punishment. To say we had a rough start would be an understatement. Petey was so uncomfortable that he would actually try to go after Elise's toes! But she remained calm, patient, and incredibly consistent. Over time, she helped transform not only Petey's behavior but our understanding of him. Today, Petey no longer attacks me. We understand his trauma triggers, can redirect and de-escalate situations quickly, and feel equipped to continue helping him succeed. One of the most amazing moments was seeing how far he'd come when Elise was able to comfortably pick him up after everything they'd been through together. Dogs with trauma don't have overnight transformations, and Petey's journey will always be a work in progress. But thanks to Elise, he's become a happier, more confident dog, and we've become much better owners. We're forever grateful for her expertise, compassion, and belief in him when things felt overwhelming. I would absolutely recommend Elise to anyone who has a dog with behavioral challenges and is willing to invest the time, patience, and love needed to help them thrive.

When we rescued our boxer Scooby almost a year ago, he was a sweet but scared (and sometimes scary!) dog. He would bark and lunge at strangers who approached him, and was aggressive with many other male dogs. The group classes were such a great way for us to learn how to socialize him effectively. The basic puppy classes focus on socialization, simple commands, leash walking, etc. Both of my dogs enjoyed the classes and although they have selective hearing, they benefited from her courses and early introduction to other dogs and humans. She is extremely flexible in make-up classes which is great since weekends can be busy. What I really found to be the most wonderful thing about Andrea is that once you have taken her classes, you can continue asking questions in the future about behaviors, etc. My friend and I texted her about safe introductions and I texted her about resource guarding when I got a new puppy, before she had even met him. She is highly committed to dog training and their success. I also utilized her 1:1 training services for my first dog who has zero recall and had some safety issues as a puppy (opening the oven, trying to jump on counters like a cat, weird stuff) so she came to the home a few times to target specific behaviors. I found her prices to be reasonable and her homework to be useful. Our classes had dogs ranging from 5 pounds to 70 pounds so she can definitely adhere any training needs to your dog and adapts on the spot. Highly recommend! And again, if you're wanting more than just basic sit, stay, lay down, socialization, you would probably want to continue on to the more advanced classes, as the basic puppy course we took was simple and focused more on socialization and basic cues!
