Super cute little shop with a window for ordering. There's no seating but sometimes I'll catch people sitting on the flower ledge in front. Such a creative and unique take on an ice cream sandwich. I had a vanilla ice cream sandwich in between vanilla shortbread, with custard cream and toffee pieces. It looks small but is filling. Cost $8

Thankfully you don't know the ingredients when you are at the shop but we happened to grab some from the freezer at our hotel and I was SHOCKED. This is not ice cream. It is pure chemicals with a dash of dairy. But don't worry, they donate .05 cents from each sandwich to Doctors Without Borders. Unfortunately you'll need a doctor if you eat enough of these toxic 'ice cream' sandwiches.

Stopped by Peace Pie in Cape May and tried the Peanut Butter Brownie ice cream sandwich. The flavor was incredible--rich, indulgent, and packed with the perfect combo of peanut butter and chocolatey brownie goodness. It definitely satisfied my sweet tooth! The only drawback? The cookies holding the sandwich together were a bit firm, which made it slightly tricky to bite into and eat neatly. Still, totally worth it for the flavor and fun experience. The shop has a colorful, inviting vibe and a menu packed with creative options. Would definitely come back to try more flavors!

Peace Pie fell on my radar when researching eateries to try while in Cape May. The name piqued my interest, being a fan of pie and dessert in general I thought this place was right up my alley. Also, the Yelp reviews and recommendations of this place sounded great - so I made it my intention to check them out during my trip. While Peace Pie is not technically in the Washington Street Mall, it sits parallel to it on Carpenters Ln near several other businesses; it's very easy to get there if you're at the mall. There is no interior to the shop, rather it is a walk-up window with all of the production being conducted in a small structure. The exterior is really capturing to the eye - it's bright with an inviting aura. I quickly learned - and it's worth noting - that Peace Pie does not sell pies as in the baked good. Rather, they sell ice cream sandwiches - their signature being that each sandwich has a layer of pie filling in it. In addition to this location in CM, they have two other spots in NJ plus others in SC and FL. As I approached the window I noticed a menu with all of the flavors listed. They have a lot - but it really only lists the flavor name/combo without giving detail to the actual components of the sandwich; you would need to ask or consult the website to get that information. Anyway, the triple vanilla looked good so I went with that - it was vanilla ice cream with a layer of vanilla mousse between two shortbread cookies. The sandwich itself was good - better than a typical ice cream sandwich. Even though it was premade, the quality itself was higher than what I have found elsewhere. Service was fast - there was nobody else there when I arrived so I was taken care of right away. Overall, I was impressed with Peace Pie - it definitely fits in well with the whole beach aesthetic of Cape May, and I wouldn't be against returning the next time I'm in the area.

My husband and I love Peace Pie and always stop by here when we're in Cape May. My only complaint is that they have so many different flavors and variety that I have a hard time choosing one every time I go. They have two lines and are very efficient if there's a lot of people in line. All of the flavors I've tried so far have been great!

Had to try this spot. Got the cookie dough sandwich. I wish a little bit more cookie dough and wish the cookies that make the sandwich were a little softer, but overall it was good. Also the girl serving the ice cream didn't have too much of a personality. I felt like asking a question was a major inconvenience for her, but whatever.

My 1st time at Peace Pie. I surely was missing out. Such a cute place and so vibrant and colorful. Love the peace signs in the front. The large flavor sign made it easy to pick a flavor and I love how every pie is $8. You can't beat one set price ! I definitely recommend the salted caramel brownie ice cream sandwich ! It was so sweet and the brownie was so gooey and delicious!

A cute little ice cream sandwich spot right in the heart of the Washington Square Mall in downtown cape may. It's the perfect little treat to cool yourself in the jersey summer weather. I love the variety they have and each flavor combination sounds amazing and unique. I would have loved to try a few more flavors but one is decadent enough. Service was quick and friendly. Fun spot for a cold and sweet treat! The exterior is colorful and fun. There are a ton of flavors to choose from, maybe too many -- it is hard to know what each flavor's name actually indicates. Separating out the menu by type of cookie, or otherwise indicating the type of cookie used on each peace pie (like color coding) could be an improvement. During our time in Cape May, we tried the blueberry lemon drop, peanut butter blondie, and caramel coffee toffee. The blueberry lemon drop was incredible and I was thoroughly impressed. I thought the other two were just OK and wouldn't order again; the chocolate cookie on the caramel coffee toffee tasted old and/or burnt. Definitely overpriced for what you get, but still a fun treat!

Stopped by here after Coast Guard graduation & we loved it so much, we went back later at night for round two! The cookies alone are to die for. Bananas and Cream was a fave of the kids while mom died over Peanut Butter Chocolate brownie during our second visit. This is a must stop for any ice cream lover!!!!!!!!

Awful experience. The teenage girl that was working the evening of 8/15/19 was more interested in her cell phone than her customers. We waited about 2 minutes for her to finish her text messages before she barely lifted her head and said hello (and the shop was empty). I had to prompt her to tell us about the product and she offered a few abbreviated sentences before returning to her cell phone. Again, I had to prompt her when we were ready to order. She was rude and lacked any knowledge of customer service. The "peace pies" were ok. There is no "pie" about it. They are basically an overpriced ice cream sandwich. Nothing great and certainly underwhelming after all the reviews we read in advance. We will not be returning to this establishment. read more

This quick service Cape May ice cream cookie shop was incredible! The brightly colored walk up to stand is adorable on its own. There are so many flavors to choose from; we got peanut butter brownie, cookies n cream, and coconut cream pie. The ice cream was perfect in between the thin pie crust like cookies. When it's 1 degree feels like and 25 mph winds in February and the only ice cream in town is peace pie, you have to swallow your pride and get the goods. That's the cynical review. You don't need to swallow anything except ice cream packed inside delicious cookies. And you don't need to wait until mid winter! Strawberry with chocolate chips inside chocolate butter cookies really hit the spot. Many choices. read more

Holy. Crap. These are amazing. After enjoying hundreds of ice cream cones on the mall over the years, we came across this new shop yesterday and thought it sounded interesting. My husband and I tried the salted caramel brownie and coffee toffee, respectively, and were blown away. The salted caramel filling (in both sandwiches) is really something special. And the crunchy salty toffee pieces in the coffee toffee was perfect. The cookies are crunchy and a little salty (in a good way) and firm enough to stand up to the ice cream without crumbling to pieces. We cannot wait to go back to try the others! Honestly not impressed. The cookies were not that good (mine even still had tiny foil pieces on it) and too frozen. The ice cream was too hard and not that flavorful. Overall I was very disappointed. On top of that, the person working inside was also doing landscaping outside, maskless. When he saw us at the ordering window, he came inside, and then put on a mask and gloves. I'm not sure if he washed his hands, but if he did, it was brief. We definitely won't be back. read more

Amazing spot . The employees were really nice and explained about there making of the company. The ice cream peace pie cookie was really good. I gotten the apple vanilla ice cream and my fiance gotten the vanilla brownies carmal one . They were out if this world. The prices was just right as well. Amazing selection of flavors, and great ice cream sandwiches. I had the salted caramel brownie, which was good but hard to chew because it's so cold and a bit hard because of the coldness. Friends had the creme brûlée and the Jersey Devil. All delicious and highly recommended, but that Jersey Devil was something special. Enjoy! read more

I had the Orange Creamsicle Sandwich and it was super yummy! You had to wait for the ice cream to soften a little but it was really delicious! I wish the cookie had a bit more flavor though. Who would have expected that I would willingly go back to eat ice cream sandwiches in 50-60 degree weather? I stumbled upon this place because it its cute decorated exterior at night and was surprised to see a line in November. There is a screen at the window and the shopkeeper wore mask and gloves when they were getting our items as well! They have a lot of different flavors but we got the raspberry chocolate, key lime, and strawberry chocolate and they were all so good! The cookies were firm and crispy and the ice cream was delish! I wasn't expecting chocolate chips in the raspberry and strawberry ones but they just made it better! Overall, if you're like me and visiting Cape May for the first time in the winter season don't pass on Peace Pie (at least you won't have to worry about it melting if you decide to grab it on your way walking back to your place like we did) read more

Different is a good thing. Thin crunchy cookies filled with different flavored ice cream and fillings. I got the turtle cookie sandwich - chocolate cookie stuffed with a thick layer of caramel, nuts and chocolate ice cream. A miniature version for kids (and those with smaller appetites) might be a good idea. read more

Delicious. A bit over-priced, but worth it for a vacation stop. A welcome and unique alternative to just another ice cream cone. Our family got the Orange Cream, Strawberry Shortcake, and Smores. All of them received rave reviews. The shortbread cookie had the perfect crunch and thickness and the ice creams / fillings were very flavorful. Glad we stumbled upon it. Only negative is that at $6 the sandwich seems a bit over-priced, but since we were on vacation we splurged and it was worth it for a one-time thing. read more

Delicious. Unsure how you can choose which ice cream sandwich to order because all the combos are outrageously tasty but I had the pb brownie and it did not disappoint. So happy we finally got to try Peace Pie in cape May! We went on a Sunday night and the line was pretty long, out the door but went super fast. There are so many flavors it was overwhelming at first to figure out which I wanted. I think you have to see them in the case first before you can decide. We went with the Pecan Pie and am sooooo happy we did. It was amazing. $6 not bad. We split it because I don't think I could've eaten one on my own.. lots of ice cream, def big. If you're in the cape May mall area I would def go for this compared to a regular ice cream cone. Much better. read more

There aren't many places I'd say are life changing but this is. Stopped here on a whim. Oh my god. Got the salted caramel brownie. Truly can't get over how good this was. Individually the ingredients are all great. The ice cream and short bread cookie alone are excellent. Considering ordering these online because I'm not sure I can wait until the next time we're in Cape May read more

Decided to try it out since it was a new place this summer... finally found the little shack close to the Japanese place by congress hall. All of the cookie sandwiches are premade. They all have the same shortbread cookie and are all different fillings. I had the Carmel brownie, it was delicious and would definitely get it again. Dad had the coconut cream.. couldn't really taste the coconut but it was still very good. Not much you can do wrong with an ice cream sandwich!! I stumbled upon this shop while looking for dessert options during the stay-at-home order, and I'm so glad I did! I called in my order just before closing and it was ready in a few minutes. The service was excellent and friendly even while adhering to the health rules --plastic shielded window, masks, and gloves. I ordered six different flavors, and so far I've tried the Pumpkin Pie and Coffee Toffee and both were delicious. These are gourmet ice cream sandwiches with the perfect amount of filling and ice cream between cookies that are crisp, not soft and soggy. The best part? A portion of each pie sold was being donated to help food banks during this time of crisis. Thank you, Peace Pie! This was my first visit, but definitely won't be my last. read more

I was skeptical. In fact, I love Uncle Charley's so much that I didn't want to find another ice cream place in Cape May. However, I was hooked at the first bite of my salted caramel brownie ice cream sandwich. I'm not a fan of shortbread, so I didn't expect to like the cookie. I'm a brownie snob, so I didn't expect to be impressed by the brownie. Boy, was I wrong! Peace Pie nailed each component; the chocolate cookie, the vanilla ice cream, the salted caramel, and the brownies were all fantastic. The woman behind the counter told me everything (including the brownies) was homemade. I could tell by the taste that they were quality ingredients. I also appreciated the fact that the ice cream was deep frozen so that it could be savored longer. Needless to say, I'll be back. I plan on trying as many different flavors as possible! read more

The concept is very fun and very yummy so for that they get 4-5 stars. My family got 4 different options and only I looved mine (coffee caramel one). Husbands and kids *liked* theirs. And so while the flavor combinations are creative, simply said: I've had better ice cream. Also at $6 each a family of 4 will pay $24 (one idea is to splurge on two desserts at a fine cape may restaurant and you'll pay less). All that said, go here at least once to try for yourself read more

History

Established in 2015.

I still remember coming home from college for Thanksgiving in 2009. Walking into my father's house in Woodstock, he said, "Joe, you aren't going to believe what I just made." (I've learned to become concerned when he says those words) "I took your pecan pie recipe, put it on top of a shortbread cookie in a large baking tray, and covered it all with ice cream! I call it 'Pecan Pie a la Mode Lasagna!'" My less than enthusiastic response quickly changed after I tried a piece. And that's how it began. Now, the lasagna has become hand-sized portions, and is being produced and sold by the thousands (they also picked up a better name along the way). We know you'll enjoy them as much as we do! Meet the Business Owner: Joe K.

Peace Pie is a family run business, officially established in 2015, but having roots back to 2009. For Thanksgiving dessert that year, my father created a "pecan pie, shortbread a la mode lasagna". Over the next four years, he went searching for how to make his "a la mode lasagna" into an ice cream sandwich. In the summer of 2013, my father enlisted my help in selling Peace Pies at a local farmers' market on Thursday mornings. They were a huge hit. Building on the success of that summer, in 2014 my father and I brought in the help of my mother and sister as we expanded into 9 farmers markets and many other local festivals. Realizing we had something special, we purchased a storefront in Cape May, NJ. The first Peace Pie store opened up on Memorial Day of 2015. Continuing to build, we have chosen Charleston, SC as the second location, and opened our Meeting Street location on February 5th, 2016. This story is just beginning.

She got a milkshake and I got the 'Smores Sundae. Both were delicious, generous portions, creamy and just the right bout of sweet. Staff were friendly and worked quickly. They were slightly amused at my sheer delight in being able to use Apple Pay. It's the little things, people. Love this old school ice cream parlor, and hope they have many more successful years.

FFC is located on Beach Ave, right in the heart of one of the main drags in Cape May (also, conveniently around the corner from where I was staying). The decor is super fun - the entire space is decked out in Pride decor, with colorful ice cream aesthetics on the walls and an overall upbeat vibe. FFC serves Bassetts Ice Cream, I'm not familiar with the brand but apparently their cream content is higher than average so how bad can that be? They have several flavors to choose from, as well as a number of toppings, sundae combinations, and milkshakes. I decided to go with Moose Tracks in a cone - I was able to choose the number of scoops I wanted (I got two), as well as the type of cone I wanted. The ice cream was really good - super creamy with lots of peanut butter cups and fudge; the moose were stampeding. Service was also great - I was taken care of promptly and everyone I interacted with was very friendly. Overall, this was a yes - with the plethora of ice cream spots in the area, FFC stands out by serving high quality product in a fun and inviting atmosphere. I would definitely return the next time I find myself in Cape May.

Worst ice cream. I went there last night with a friend and it was below average. There was no line which should have been a tip off since it is in the middle of the cape May shops. I was very excited and it looks delicious but it was not made on the spot they were pre-made. Mine was also freezer burnt as well. My friend got the double chocolate chip the inside was good but the outside was like cardboard. No taste and was VERY hard to bite. I got the strawberry shortcake and it was the same. It did not taste fresh at all. The one girl working was also sitting on top of one of the ice cream freezers on her phone while the other was doing all the work. I would recommend any other ice cream place in cape May other than this one. I am never one to write a review but I had too. read more
