I was given a gift card to Tallgrass for my birthday. I was able to call and book an appointment…read morewithin a reasonable time. The drive out was beautiful and relaxing. When I got there, I was able to lock up my stuff and robe up. You wait in this tranquil lounge that is stocked full of that amazing Aveda tea until your person comes to get you. I chose to do a Chakra massage and had never done one before. It was good, but the touches were very light, which was explained to me. I typically do deep tissue/athletic massages with hot stones or aroma therapy. My massage therapist did a good job explaining everything and was really professional and clear. After it was over, I did feel balanced and like my overall sense of well-being was intact. If I make it up to Tallgrass again, I would most likely try a different type of massage. However, I would encourage anyone who is open to it to give the chakra balance a try. I was able to hang out in the quiet space for as long as I needed post-massage. The fire was crackling, the tea was warm. It was perfect. When I was ready and got dressed, I was able to shop for makeup and look around. There are so many pleasant things to find there and the staff was really helpful.

There was a steam shower that was slow to warm, did not get hot. The host told me to put a timer on because of the drought and it wastes a lot of water. I will not revisit this venue as outside of the exceptional massage from Derek there was really no ambience, and this was an anemic spa experience.
