THIS GUYS PAINT DIDN'T LAST 90 DAYS BEFORE TURNING YELLOW!…read moreHe was a good salesman when it came to promising a great job. Once I noticed the paint yelowing I reached out and sent him pictures. He saw them and agreed to come fix it. I waited 2 weeks for him to come fix his work. He showed up and tried to tell me that the paint wasn't yellow at all! He refused to take responsibility and instead decided to make a scene, act a fool, shout at me and run to his truck to drive away. I gave him every chance to do the right thing and even offered to pay for some of the cost of the repair, to help him out. DO NOT TRUST THIS HACK!

A while back I accidentally scraped the rear side of my almost-new Chevrolet Equinox EV while…read morebacking into a driveway. There was a rough stone retaining wall along the side that caused several deep gouges and scratches. Of course, I couldn't believe I had been so careless. I brought my car to my Chevrolet dealership to get a repair estimate and I was shocked--over $4000! They said they would have to replace the rear bumper (which only had the bad scratches, no dents or other damage). I then went to several auto body and paint shops and was able get some lower prices but still $2000 and up. I looked on line for a touch-up paint kit and was able to determine the exact color code for my car and find some inexpensive small touch-up paint bottles. I knew this was not a viable long-term solution but perhaps I could at least paint the very visible white scratches and gouges while I found a more reasonable professional paint solution. The touch-up paint did somewhat cover the most visible damage, so from a distance you could not as easily notice the damage. But I did notice the touched-up areas looked like a different shade than the correct blue of my car, it looked a bit purple. I happen to have an expensive professional color scanner (Nix) and it provides highly accurate RGB (red-green-blue) values. The car natural paint measured values for blue and green and zero red content. When I measured the cap of the touch-up paint, it also showed the correct blue shade very accurately. But putting a small test swatch of the touch-up paint on a white surface clearly showed the purple-leaning shade. And measuring the small touched up areas on the car also showed this purple tinted color. At this point I just presumed that the color was off because I didn't properly prepare the surface or didn't buff the finished result. I looked on line again for a painter and found Dent Expert Mobile. I contacted them through their website and they said to upload several pictures of the damaged area. They quickly got back to me with a lower price than any of the paint shops I had contacted. They said they could do the complete repair in my driveway or garage in less than a day and they had an opening in a few days. All the other quotes were several weeks out and from several days to 2 weeks to do the job. So, I booked an appointment with scratch and dent repair. I couple of days later Johnny arrived, looked at the damage and started the work. He carefully masked the damaged area, sanded down the damaged area, applied a primer, filled some of the deep scratches, applied the new blue paint and finally the clear coat. Johnny has a complete color lab in his van and is a genius at exact color matching. I had told him that I had tried touch-up paint first but at that point, I didn't realize the contents of the touch-up paint can was wrong. As soon as Johnny removed all the masking we could see the color was wrong and the first thing he said was I'll have to repaint it at no charge. It was also that purple tint. I felt really bad that I had unknowingly and unintentionally mislead him with that bad touch-up paint. So, a day later he came back, remixed the paint, this time to the precise and correct blue shade. End result was perfect. You cannot see any evidence of the scratches or damage. I am astonished at how good he is at mixing paint in his color lab in the back of his van. I know how hard this is to do and get accurate results. So, I highly recommend Johnny. Nice and honest guy, genius color match, professional surface prep and painting. Very reasonable and quick. What more could you want. Wayne J

While other "Dentists" are mechanics, Todd at TAPS truly is an artist. My BMW M340i got bumped in…read morethe left rear hindquarter behind the wheel and left a small but sharp dent right across a body line and into a second fender. While I was concerned about the complexity of the dent itself, upon closer inspection with Todd we realized that what I thought were some additional minor scratches that could be buffed out were in fact thin lines cut down to the metal and couldn't be buffed. Also, there were some strange fibers at one part of the dent that crossed the bumper line. Todd explained that the other car had impacted the rear fender that wrapped around the back which was PLASTIC (I didn't know that!) and rubbed the paint clear off. Todd mentioned that unfortunately it would require paint, at which point I mentioned I had the touch-up paint kit for the car. Amazingly he said he would see what he could do. If you've ever used a touch-up paint kit before, you know that trying to fix multiple scratches on metallic paint with that touch-up brush doesn't really end up well. I hadn't expected paint damage and didn't have high hopes for the end result. When I saw the finished job, I was blown away. The dent was perfectly repaired with body lines fully restored, but the paint fix was unreal. The scratches literally had disappeared and the paint perfectly blended. I know what touch-up paint brushed on looks like, so he must have applied the paint somehow and then used some technique to blend it into the existing paint so well there were literally no brush marks. All I can say is that alone saved me 2 whole repainted fenders at a body shop. Others MIGHT have been able to fix the dent as well as Todd, but no one else even mentions fixing a PAINT issue as a side talent - from a touch-up paint kit, no less! Truly an amazing job!

Great experience. Easy to get an estimate and an appointment. Very communicative and no suprises…read more Impressive, quality, work and a big savings over a body shop. I will refer and use TAPSpdr in the future.

Overall a great experience , as a fellow car enthusiast I give frosted finishes my seal of approval…read moreand highly recommend . I called all across town to find a location that would reinstall/paint my front bumper after it had been damaged in cross state transporting. I had the replacement bumper on me as well, which can be a deciding factor for businesses to accept business however I found a reputable body shop that told me to reach out to Frost finishes and was recommended. Upon briefly speaking to Paul(Owner) a couple days before he was very prompt at answering and giving me a quote . He was able to squeeze me in and take me the start of the week. The day of taking it in Paul was able to take a look at the parts and verify everything would be ok before taking off. Very nice guy to work with and it's nice to know we're contributing to the small guys and not corporate. I was impressed by his photos of the work online so I chose to bring in a rear diffuser to quote for install as well, he quoted me on the spot and I was very impressed with his knowledge when I asked him about the install. Was very happy he was able to install it on the sudden. He was able to complete the work in about a day. Upon arrival , the car looked phenomenal. My significant other is a designer and man was she even impressed with the color of the paint match and you could just see the quality of work he puts into his vehicles . A guy with passion showing pure excellence through quality of work .It was a pleasure doing business and would recommend him to anyone . Remember not everything good is cheap and not everything cheap is good however frosted finishes wins in every category . I hope people can contribute to this business and lets make him grow ! Thanks Frosted finishes, I was bummed about the damage before and now it feels good to be in my baby again stress free!

They did a good job. I had some deep scratches on my truck and they buffed most of the out.read more
