The owners hire store attendants who are not knowledgeable on the products that they sell. If you need help, or ask questions, they appear lost and will suggest something random. And, the products that are sold here are indeed overpriced, you can find a better price at a store like Walmart, Target, or Amazon. The hair that they sell for wigs, sew-in's etc. is also poor quality. A lot of time I regret my purchase after coming here. FYI, you cannot legally require a customer to provide ID when completing a purchase, Visa and Mastercard prohibit this. That's a wild, discriminatory practice. If they ask, tell them no, and they still have to complete the purchase. To the owner: How can you morally profit from a predominantly Black customer base, while remaining ignorant of their hair care needs and simultaneously discriminate against them? Overall, it's a weirdly isolating and aggravating experience shopping here, but sadly, it's the most convenient when in a pinch.

Renee, the owner, was very helpful and gave me a warm welcome when I arrived. She told me she didn't carry African net sponges as they contain plastic and are not good to use for your body, so she suggested the agave wash cloth instead. I took my time to look around the shop too and there were so many goods that I got a bit overwhelmed so I'll have to come back to peruse those more sometime :) Renee was very friendly, kind, helpful, and awesome. Her energy is warm but strong like a fire. She took the time to talk to me about her shop that she's had for over 30 years now, asked me for my name, and hoped that she'd see me again -- which she definitely will be! Lots of books, tote bags, bracelets, incense, hair products, and much more. She told me she tries to host events for the community too, apparently I just missed a sound bath that they hosted this past weekend. She called her manager, and they told me they would order it and have it in stock. I was told to come back in two weeks. I came back two weeks later, and the product was never ordered. It wasn't on the shelf, and nothing had changed. While it may not seem like a huge issue, this is a customer service problem. I was trying to be a loyal customer and spend my money at their establishment. I took them at their word and made a return trip based on what they promised, only to be misled. What's frustrating is the lack of honesty and accountability. Don't tell a customer you're going to order something if you have no intention of doing so. My wife has exclusively gone to this spa and she has picked up a toenail fungus. At first, we thought her big toe got bitten by a spider. But I don't think we'll be going back. Now we need to see her doctor to get medication to treat the fungus before it spreads to her other toes.
