Having visited earlier today, the guy who served me appeared co-operative and friendly taking the time to listen to all my needs. The only drawbacks I would mention, is the fact that it is located in a place where it is out of mainview and some items are slighlty pricier than your average PC World or Comet goods. Also, if you're not satisfied with an item or you just bought the wrong one, you're unable to refund the item which has been opened (understandable), whereas other stores might allow the refund. However, the branch does have a decent website where you can freely search for your items and order through delivery. This is a store which sells electronics dedicated to computing which your local high street stores won't offer (apart from Maplin) but it is generally cheaper than Maplin. All in all, this is a store which is handy to have out there and will offer advice if for instance you wish to build your own desktop computer.

An amazing sales assistant Molly went out of her way to help me. The reserved item was still in the store and she brought it for me to see before placing my order ( I needed to check it was suitable as I have a medical issue or two!! ) Huge thanks for unbelievably fantastic customer service and the understanding shown . This branch of Currys PC World is quite a nice one, being in a retail park it is much larger than…read moremany other stores, including one about 15 minutes away in the Manchester Arndale Shopping Centre, unlike other retail park stores this also has a nicer layout, more friendly and just seems nicer than other stores such as the Oldham branch, When I walked in, I was greeted by someone who works in the store but for HP, who mainly works for HP printers, but can assist with other store matters, I do like HP printer but it would have been good to have someone neutral to provide advice on all printers, not just someone who had a big shirt with HP written on it. They seemed to have a decent, albeit small range of printers, most of which at reasonable prices with some good offers with them, which seemed a little confusing, but it wasn't labelled on all the printers, despite it being different on what you buy, which makes me doubt whether this is real, as it means the average customer would not know it, which is a shame they are not making the offers public, which could include free HP instant ink for 5 months, possibly getting 150 sheets a month free, normally £7.99 and then reverting to the lower package of 50 sheets costing only £1.99 a month, and then you can use pages that role over, to double your allowance if you want to. As this is a larger store, it is known as a Currys PC World megastore, which Dixons who own both companies seem to have rebranded most of there stores as, and it also includes a small Carphone Warehouse. It is a big store but still the range of some items seems a little small and wallking around seems a little confusing as it is all mixed in. Some things did seem confusing such as having a sofa at the front and it just felt more of an unusual vibe, but still deserves a solid three stars.

Their selection of products there is not as extensive as their bigger competitors, but that's to be understood really and they make up for this by offering customers a friendly, personal service without a hint of upselling at any point. Despite their size, they do sell a range of different electrical goods even if the selection of each isn't particularly large, meaning if you're not looking for a specific model then it might be worth heading here instead of the bigger companies. Their prices are pretty reasonable too, meaning they can more than compete with their competitors, price-wise at least. All in all, Southport Hi-Fi is a decent place to go for electrical goods and equipment, but just don't expect a wealth of choice like you would in Curry's or Comet.

They can usually do a good deal and the prices are equalt to, if not better, than the big electriacl retailers. What makes this place good though is the personal service and expertise that the guys have. They have been in business quite a few years and really know their stuff. They will give you advice and will not try to make you buy something you dont need. Their aftersales service is second to none, and they also repair and replace any old pcs that you have. This store follows the decor of an old Game store, it is brighter and nicer inside, with the merger of Gamestation and Game a few years ago, I do like how the company vary the stores and keep the original features from the brands despite still being under one game, albeit I do always prefer the layout of the old Game stores as they just seem nicer and brighter. Inside, the selection of games was okay, yet it was nothing more than that, it was just satisfactory and I did struggle to find certain games and was given a rather rude response by a member of staff for asking for a new game she said "You're just paying for Cellophane and it's stupid if you want a new one because its more expensive with a less guarantee" - I appreciate her raising the point but as far as I'm aware the games are normally covered for a year anyway and are at most other retailers so that was a lie, and she just seemed rude and arrogant in the way she said it. It's a gift and I didn't want to give a used game as a gift, especially for just a small price difference. The store did seem quite busy, mainly with Black Friday deals going on at the time and it being close to Christmas. Sadly there were less of the games on full view here to avoid spending ages, bending down and looking for the game, which I hate, which was why I asked whether they stocked something in the first place. Overall, due to poor levels of customer service, pricing of some games where I noticed certain games around £25 more expensive or double than what it would cost elsewhere and the general stock of games and how they are set out in the store means sadly Bolton have been let down and are being given a Game store which in a way just seems poor and careless, so sadly doesn't warrant anything over a single one star.

Game has a wide range of games for all modern consoles and pc which are all neatly set out in a-z so items are easy to find. There is also a section for pre-owned games where you can get some bargains and are of good quality because game always checks the condition of disc people trade in. I have always found the game staff to be friendly and have an idea at what they are talking about when it comes to game playing.

Last semester I found myself faced with a horrifying situation - I had pushed the 'prong' of my…read morelaptop charger into its designated hole in the side of my laptop and the prong had ended up somewhere in the belly and guts of the desperate thing. With no means of recharging, the laptop dies and I was unable to turn it back on again. Naturally this happened around the time coursework was set. So I wrapped the sobbing creature in several carrier bags and stuffed it into a bag and plodded off on a mission to get it help. Luckily enough, I stumbled upon PC Casualty less than two hundred metres from my doorstep. Despite looking a little bit dubious from the outside, the interior is exceedingly professional and the, possibly Russian, assistant quickly allayed my fears by assuring me that he saw 'five or six identical problems each week' and that it was likely that it would be able to be repaired entirely. The bill was over one hundred pounds including VAT but in that situation you really are paralysed with little option but to fork out and I doubt PC World even often a repair service for the computers they sell. It was fixed within three days and they telephoned me to let me know. Overall, a very pleasant outcome.

Although its not as big or busy as is its rival Micro direct down the street, PC casualty are able to give a much more customer focused service where others will either right off or wipe clean your hard drive erase your files these guys at least make an effort to fix the problem. If you are have problems with your PCs or laptops and have important information on them i would recommend coming to these guys because big shops are either to busy to fix the actual problem and keen to replace parts.
