Last time I used this clinic was the year of 2013. I was 30 pounds heavier than I would've liked to be and I had a cosmetic procedure approaching in the next three months. An EKG was never required previously. I see this as another tactic to make more money. I'm sorry to say PBC has lost me as a client and everyone I've referred. I purchased the Yelp deal thinking it was worth a shot, though there weren't reviews on this place. No problemo, I snagged the "First to Review" yelp star. This place has been in business for over 20 years, they have a helpful website with lots of info about their products, Cindy is on top of her game. I recently finished a successful phentermine diet plan at another medical weight loss clinic and what do you know, a stressful home renovation, big move and Thanksgiving & Christmas parties took a toll on my willpower. When I went last night, the place was a beehive of activity from new and returning patients. Most clients are big, beautiful African-American and Hispanic folks. I stuck out like a sore thumb, but it was no biggy. There is a lot of comradery among staff and patients and it is a very friendly, fun and welcoming environment. To help with your diet, I suggest the hibiscus tea and alkaline water refills. I didn't have time to go to their superstore during my visit, but it was a popular place among patients. It is easy to find behind Ikea Carson and there is plenty of parking. They have a doctor on site a couple days a week, so call ahead to make sure you can be seen. I will give them 4 stars but I haven't had an oppty to try them just yet. 4 stars is based on no hard selling and a very nutritionally knowledgable staff. Cindy at PBC is clearly passionate about health and weight loss/management. While I was familiar with several things she spoke of and knew she knew her stuff, I was more informed about how much we are sold fillers and junk that contribute to our weight issue in the U.S. We can thank the USDA and FDA for that. Anyway, she didn't try to sell me but rather sought to educate me about what's bad and what's good for the body and how PBC uses authentic nutrient dense products to customize weight loss (powder or vitamins) for you me to give the body what it needs. I especially liked that you get the products in their powder form. No capsules, gelatin, or fillers. Consequently what seems like it could be costly really isn't because you use so much less. Too bad I just bought refills of my usual vitamins already. I'll ease into their vitamins. At their food store, Eat wise, they have another Cindy who was also helpful. It's right next to PBC. The store is clearly popular among athletes and trainers which means it's a good thing and more like a hidden gem. That said they have a lot of raw and organic products that are simply better for you. I will return and begin a small weight loss program and cleanse. I will update with some results in a few months. The only drawback is that they are not open on Saturdays. I think I'd they be good to open from 8-12 noon and they'd help a bigger population of folks who can't get to them on weekdays. It'll be tough enough for me to get there by 6p as I begin my gym workouts after work. All in all id say they know their stuff and are worth a try. I love The Cindy's. I go for my B12 shots and protein shakes. When I first starting coming here I was 296lbs and just had a baby. I spoke with the doctor and was put on a program to help with weight loss. I lost 36lbs in 5 months and kept it off. I continue to received my protein shakes and the best nutritional advice ever. So this review is for the ladies who probably want to lose around 15 pounds, interested in spot shots, and don't plan on doing the full diet plan provided here. I came in on a Tuesday which is the day the doctor is in and apparently the most hectic day. This girl and I were interested in spot shots and wanted to lose less than 15 lbs so it seemed more cost efficient to want to do our own weight loss plan but use the shots as a catalyst. Any who, as soon as you get there you sign in and they hand you paperwork and explain a diet and what you have to eat, which is good information, but I really came in for the shot. Apparently, there is a 1 time $65 fee to consult with the doctor. The doctor to me comes off as retired and just does this one day a week and goes on with his business. When you see him you better tell him what you're there for specifically or you might be put on to a plan you don't necessarily want. That is the only drawback of this place. Besides that, the women who work here are nurses, very knowledgeable, and helpful. They are willing to teach you how to diet properly and on a normal day without the doctor, get you out of there within 10 minutes. The lipotropic and spot shots are only $10 each. I feel like it does help in conjunction with diet and exercise. I like this place, however, it is a business and I can see why they would try to put you on the full diet, but like the nurse told me, "you don't have to." The fee seems a little steep but if I just need to pay it once, I can get over it. They also sell a fantastic hibiscus detox drink (64 oz) for $15. It tastes great and cleans you out! They also sell water bottles that hold your daily intake and you can get them refilled with alkaline water for a $1! Usually its like $2-$3 for a 1.5 liter. $1 for 2.2 liters is a steal! BEWARE of Gerald Green of Woodland Hills who works with PBC Medical Weight Loss Center in Carson he is a scam artist. I order a nutrition blend from him and he sent it to me by mail after tasting and inspecting it I felt the blend Gerald Green sent me was suspicious. I called him & asked to meet him at the clinic as I wanted to see the operation. Gerald Green was very hesitant but said he would meet me there. I gave him the blend After waiting for over 3 hours. I received my blend and the blend appeared to be totally different blend from the initial one that he sent me. He said I owed him an additional $50 after I had already paid $200 for the blend but he said he needed to add other ingredients he needed to include to give me the optimum solution. The new blend I receive seemed to give me energy and I was excited for my health. There after I order another blend and referred 4 people that had health concerns. He asked me to put the money in his wifes bank account to avoid the long wait. Gerald Green sent one of my friends a blend by priority mail, it arrived a month after I ordered it for him- when initially he said mail was a faster process as I wasted part of my day killing time in the nearby Ikea. The blend again was ineffective it appeared to be nothing but protein powder and Kool Aid in a container. My referrals called Gerald Green and left him a message about concerns and asked for a refund and he never returned our calls. Nor did my 4 referrals receive a blend, call back or refund. It was nothing like the other blend I received. Gerald Green told us the blend would provide energy, cure thyroid dysfunction, cure dementia, cure arthritis, cure prostate issues and some cancers and made a lot of other promises, like weight loss ect... $1200 gone Sad that they would do this to people who are trying to get their health together. read more
