From the start we had a great experience with 1A Roofing…read more I had at least one other business in mind when I started my request a quote on Yelp to replace our roof. My husband and I knew it would be a huge project as we had a 40 year old wood shake shingle roof that was not insurable and needed to go probably 10 years ago. We ended up having three different companies out to bid, one we had used before for a smaller project that gave a competitive bid and two unknowns to us. The first unknown wanted to charge us twice as much as what we ended up doing, so it's certainly worth asking around and getting quotes. 1A was the most unknown as it was the only one that came with no Yelp reviews and no feedback from others online. Turns out they are a new company and when Danny came out to quote us on the roof he was really friendly, answered all of our questions, and gave us a price we just couldn't beat. Before we settled the deal we had at least one more call with him and talked through even more questions that came up and felt assured they would do a great job on this project. It took them around 3.5 days to complete our roof and I will say it was a ton of work. Pulling wood shake off of a 3K sq. ft. home is not an easy feat, especially in early June humidity in KC. The crew got to work, and my husband and I got to know Roberto, who with Danny, are the two owners of 1A. Roberto is young, but an honest, kind, and talented roofer. He did a great job leading his team and getting us a solid and nice looking roof in a good amount of time. The thing that probably shocked me the most was just how quickly they were able to clean up and get our yard back to looking normal when they were done.
