We got a nice outside table and our drinks came quickly but then everything ground to a halt. There was one waiter for a dozen or more tables. We waited close to 45 minutes for our food. The omelets were good but the traditional "meal" sausage was not to my liking. I think it was not cured and thus it had a very mushy consistency that I found gross. The flavor was OK but it was just not my thing. That happens sometimes when you travel... Of course trying to get and pay the bill was another challenge. We had been in the country two weeks and this was only the second time service was glacially slow.

We had olives and bread to start for appetizers. For the main courses, I can't say what they were in Portuguese, but one was the pork and the other was the Bacalhau à Brás. Both were truly amazing. We finished with an egg-custard type dessert, again, not sure on the name. If you stumble across this little gem, ask the owner to just take care of you and you will not be disappointed. Instead of cubed pork and potatoes, they use large chunks of pork with french fries. Meanwile, the clams are tiny in size with many empty shells. Their preparation doesn't allow for the ingredients to cook together for the synergy of flavors. The dinner my husband ordered was the fried pork with migas - bread crumbs with asparagus. It uses identical chunks of pork. Migas is vry traditional dish of the area, looks a little like mashed potato, and I suppose in the old days a great way to upcycle old bread into a delicious side. The version here has lots of garlic - whole cloves of them - in it so I did enjoy it a lot, just wih it weren't so filling. Overall flavor is not bad, glass of wine is 2.50 Euro.
