I ate more food than I thought was possible and drank delicious wine. A local gent was playing Portuguese music on his guitar and came over to sit and sing with us for awhile. And he wasn't asking for money, he just wanted to play and sing. The owner had a small glass of wine on our table the entire night...kept coming over throughout the night to talk and drink. Lastly, we got a tour of the mansion where he makes his own wine and hangs his own prosciutto. Awesome night!

Prices are good, it's right in the center of town. Parking is free from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m.; parking spots are right across the street from the hotel. The mercado is only a couple blocks away, as is a vegetarian restaurant. The regional museum is a couple blocks in the opposite direction. Beja is a small town with most everything in walking distance, but there's still lots to see and do here.
