I wish I could give a 5 star review because the owner is so friendly and the price can't be beat!…read more I hired them to remove a couple small trees, prune trees, and trim several hedges. Some of the work was fine but the cuts for the hedges trimming looked like they'd been chewed off by a beaver instead of cut by a sharp tool. Not the quality I expect from professionals and I worry for the health of my hedge. Also most of the trimmed hedge branches were just left laying on top of the hedge and weren't apparent until the leaves turned brown. I had to climb up a ladder to pull down at least a dozen 6+ foot long branches and my hedge is only about 15 feet long. I emailed the owner hoping he'd be receptive to feedback but never heard back.

Emiliano was quick, responsive and willing to work within my budget. He an his team did an amazing job and got it all done in one day, which I would have told you was impossible before I saw it with my own eyes. They even managed to save our roses, which were all tangled up with the blackberries! I've had several neighbors complimenting the work and asking for his number. We'll absolutely be hiring Emiliano for maintenance from now on.

It always bums me out to write a bad review about a small, local business, but I have to be honest…read moreabout my experience with them as I had a similar experience to other low reviews here. Sent a quote request for a yard cleanup and bi-weekly upkeep to a few different own care companies, and they were the fastest to reply. They came out the next day, gave me a great price, and we scheduled the cleanup. They were late the first day they came, but we understood that things happen and didn't mind too much. I would describe the service they provided as "fine." They didn't do everything they needed to do, and when I asked them about the stuff that still needed to be taken care of, they said they'd come back to to finish it. That didn't happen - they just came back to provide the regular maintenance. They came a few more times, but each time it seemed they forgot something (no weed pulling, no trimming of the bushes, leaving bramble behind, etc). I really got the sense that they didn't care about providing the service; that was confirmed when they stopped showing up. We never had a conversation about it...they just completely ghosted us. I tried reaching out to them, but it was radio silence. Something else that made me incredibly uncomfortable is that they don't offer invoices. They just want payment through Venmo. As other people have said, this business can be unprofessional. My advice would be to pay a bit more somewhere else for more reliable service and communication.

Solomon was on the slow side getting back to us to schedule the work. The deck boards he installed…read morewere warped, uneven, damaged, and not even installed flat. He claimed to have fixed the deck support but all he did was place one of our landscaping rocks under one corner which we could have done ourselves. Attached photos show the end result that he left us with. It seems like it was due to bad materials more than lack of skill but it should not have been what we were left with. We reached out that night to let him know we were not satisfied with the work and and after some difficult and delayed communications, he did agree come back and make it right. two weeks later he replaced the deck boards again. This time it was done right, as it should have in the first place. We really appreciate his willingness to come back and correct the mistakes. We're happy with the re-do but probably will not hire him again due to this negative experience overall.

They also…read moredid not respond to any contact attempts on phone, e-mail, or Yelp after the appointment was made. It's been four days now and I haven't heard from them. In all honesty the silence is so deafening I'm hoping no one is hurt or otherwise out of things due to something unfortunate. Looking back I can see that they said the appointment was 'tentative', and that they'd call ahead of time. Fair enough. That bothers me a lot less than the complete silence afterwards. Without any kind of response one way or another I had to assume they were coming, and sit around all day waiting for it to happen. Edit: I was finally contacted six days later and after posting this review. The business owner was very upset because of this review. They claimed I was lying, they threatened me with using slander laws against me. In the interest of full disclosure I will reprint all the relevant details of our communication and you can decide. Regardless, I am within my rights to write a bad review of a business that I feel treated me poorly. Even if I'm wrong. So, good Yelpers, you decide: Me: (Initial request for quote based on work, unnecessary to reprint) Business: Hi Jay, Booked out until next week, but could you provide the service address, for that's how we schedule? (They listed their rates. I won't reprint that because they may change them in the future or for specific jobs) Let us know your thoughts and we'll go from there. Thank you for your time. Me: Next week is fine, (contact info I won't reprint here) Business: Hi Jay, How does Monday between 8:30 and 9 sound? Me: Monday is our daughter's first day of school, so not a great day. Wednesday morning I'm busy. Otherwise the rest of the week is open. Business: We can tentatively set it for Tuesday at 9 Me: That sounds good. Business: Alright, you're in there and this is for the actual work correct? You're list was pretty descriptive and we'll come as prepared as possible less any speciality materials we'd have to go get. Me: (details of the job, not necessary to reprint) Business: Will attempt to call you prior to appointment sir. That was the last time I heard from them until after the review, then: Business: Very extremely rude of you sir to post such false things. Tenative means that we're still deciding if we want your jobs! We have the right to decide what work we take and your projects may not be a fit for us. We never made an agreed time out of respect for YOUR SCHEDULE but we are a business not your personal servant. Business: Very very rude Business: There are also SLANDER LAWS in this state sir. NOT FAIR that you have posted such things Business: We thhink it wise for you to delete the slander upon our company who are not your personal servants but a simple Service that you called for help but your schedule did did not match with the OPTIONS we only had available to you. I believe if you look at my original review and the communication there was not a single falsehood. I mentioned they said "tentative", but I also think their communication implied an appointment. You be the judge. They never refused me service, but honestly that would have been preferable. I never treated them like they were my "servants". I've worked with enough handymen and contractors to know that sometimes jobs aren't a fit. But setting an appointment, even tentatively, then never communicating again is unprofessional, and I will write a review for that.

Getting a good contractor takes work. If you go with someone big, then they might overcharge you…read morebecause they need to cover overhead and want to make it "worth their while," .... until a bigger job shows up and you're left waiting the rest of the summer for them to get around to you. If you go with "I know a guy" guy, they might charge a low price but since the estimate was on the back of a napkin and simply said "build a fence," it might not be what you expect and you either get something completely substandard, it might be change ordered to death, you might get lots of delays and rework, or (most likely) all of the above! Doing your homework is key. There is a going rate for landscaping and the only way you can find out is getting a few quotes from 2-3 contractors. The price of materials and labor will vary depending on the economy and scarcity (wood tariffs? Is there a housing boom? Are companies struggling to keep their employees). From the get go, Quality Tree Service and Landscaping stood out from the crowd. Jose showed up on time, dressed professional, and took lots of notes. (A lot of guys don't even do these things, so just showing up and looking presentable was a big deal for us) We showed him some ideas we had from Pinterest and Jose took a lot of time to educate us on what would look good and what each idea would cost. On top of that he pointed out other things he could do for the backyard since a crew was going to be back there anyways. We asked him to include all the extra work in the estimate since it was much easier to strike out work that we didn't want rather than ask for extra work later on (which means he'd had to come back out and re-quote and then it would impact the schedule and it's generally less time effective). We got a super detailed quote with a very fair price so we were able to choose exactly the services we wanted over email. Once we were aligned on scope, the crew showed up for work within the next few days! Over the course of the project Jose and Francisco (Jose was my main point of contact, Francisco did all the administrative/contract stuff) keep me up to date on everything that was going on. Every project is going to have unique challenges and we really appreciated being kept in the loop. Before anything major (e.g. which way will the gates open? How will the gates look? Hinge on the left or the right? What kind of knob?), Jose would always text or call to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. Being proactive avoids wasted material, time, rework, and change orders. In the end we were very happy with the work. We paid a very fair price and in return our backyard has never looked better! Thanks guys!
