The responsibilities of the owner are as crucial as the responsibilities of the parent; if you consider the bond and the unshakable link that develops between the animal and the owner, you must respect and reciprocate the same bond. A dog will do anything to defend its owner, as will a cat under certain circumstances. You would not take your child to any old doctor or a different doctor every time it was ill would you? Once you had found a health provider that was really good with your charge, you'd return eh? He suggested that I go to a chemist for over-the-counter supplements and order a caller from the Internet rather than buying it from a store or from their vet clinic as it was far too expensive. Overall it was a very positive experience and I didn't feel rushed at all. Dr . Tom explained everything well and encourage me to ask questions. Appointments are easy to schedule and the vet is open seven days a week with a few days even open as late as 8 PM.

Some weeks before someone recommended Walkerville Vet if I ever needed one. It was 12.15 on a Saturday. I phoned they close at 1pm and were booked. Told them about George's eye and was told to bring him in. Saw Claire, she was wonderful explained he would need surgery, gave medication to make him comfortable. Claire put us at ease. So pleased that the Walkerville Vet was recommended. Their prices are very reasonable too.

I've owned my doggies for no more than two years and this has been my vet since day 1. I've taken…read moremy pups through puppy pre school through Adelaide Animal Hospital as well and which was a great success and a lot of fun. These guys give me the option to take out a Total Wellness Plan for each of my dogs which includes for 12 months their shots, worming, flee treatments, first consultant free, and a variety of other benefits at the set price of $295. They generally post out your treatments in the mail shortly before the due dates. Something I that has given me peace of mind and saved me a lot of money. The staff here and very professional and attentive. I've been very happy with how they've handled my pups, their spoken knowledge, and their good use of calming ways of talking to my dogs. They also generally provide treats for the dogs in times of restlessness, which is extremely helpful! Some criticisms I have for Adelaide Animal Hospitals are a couple times I've come for appointments they've been understaffed where I've had to wait up to half an hour past my appointment time, but never mind. I also find some of their prices a tad bit expensive. I think I pay $30 for nail clipping per dog.

This somewhat confuses the issue as to what actually is essential and what is a "normal" procedure. I'd rather not be asked if I'd like IV fluids for the dog during an operation! I guess this is their way of saving costs for us, but hey...I'm not vet trained! That's why I think their Total Wellness Plan is worth considering for $393pa for dogs 10-20kg. It's a twice yearly checkup, includes worming, flea and heartworm treatment monthly and use of their dog washing facility. Hoping it will relieve the stress of looking after our favourite canine.

Pity I cannot give a lower score. ER Vet was very cold, abrupt, rude and completely unsympathetic…read more My little dog was very sick with gastroenteritis. Kept her there as I did not want her to get dehydrated. When I picked her up she was in an even worse state. She now had a horrible rash on her bottom. Runny poos were persisting and now had fresh blood and all they said was - she should be fine ! She nearly died there. Very traumatised by the whole experience and attitude of this particular Vet. Thanks to her own vet who promptly started her on antibiotics and anti inflammatory cream for her bottom (after a good shave and clean which was not done at AEC ) she has improved and is doing well. Paid nearly $ 4000 at AEC only to see her suffer, deteriorate and nearly lost her versus her own vet who saved her life in under $ 400. I can only hope and pray I never have to go back there again.
