Alan had placed restaurant orders with the restaurant I worked at and one day called, yelling saying that we messed up everything single time. I kindly spent a while looking at his past orders and seeing what we could do and it turned out he had misunderstood the ordering system and was not ordering correctly. I spent time away from a rush explaining to him so that he understood and the call ended nicely. Unfortunately a few weeks later, while I wasnt in the restaurant one of my coworkers accidentally did mess up the bread Alan had on his order. Alan called the restaurant irate and so the lead who was only 19 called because they were newer and knew I had spoken to him prior. I called Alan outside my working hours, on my day off and took accountability for the mistake and was trying to make it right for him when Alan then started saying we owe him more because we messed up his order prior. I reminded him that those prior mess ups were due to him ordering incorrectly and not on us and that we had already discussed this. He then tried to claim that I was calling him a liar, which I never did. He then used his business, yes this business to threaten and say that they spend $600 a month at this restaurant and wont order there unless we did exactly what he asked, which was unreasonable because we messed up only one of his orders. I spent 7 years in service and I have never encountered someone who cared for the general public/ service industry with such disrespect and entitlement as Alan did. I believe its important for those who go to this business to know because I would not want to entrust thousands of dollars of dental/orthodontist care with someone who clearly shows they do not care about how they treat members of the general public and members of local businesses. Their prices were reasonable to what we had been quoted at her prior orthodontist so that made me feel good. We've been a patient for a year now and she's getting her braces off in January. Dr. Maxfield really takes time to explain what he's doing to the patients and the parents. The office is also very clean, and I watch them clean often while I'm at my daughter's appointment. My daughter received an Aloha shirt, water bottle wax and flossers at her first appointment welcoming her to the office. Dr. Maxfield himself even called us after her first appointment just to check in on her. They also offer Aloha bucks for a good visit, no broken brackets, and for wearing your Aloha Orthodontics shirt to your appointment. 5 bucks if you meet the criteria. CASH PAYING / NO INSURANCE - PLENTY OF BETTER CHOICES ELSEWHERE!…read more We WERE patients of this practice the past couple of years and had good service for the times we went (2X/year). However, if you do not have insurance (unemployed, self-employed) you will significantly save by taking your business elsewhere. TMFD provides NO discount to cash paying customers. You will pay the FULL amount of the rate they "bill" insurance companies, even though TMFD collects only a portion from insurance companies due to the contracted rates for said services. Example: I was interested in just a cleaning. TMFD wanted to charge me $112 for the cleaning. I had a cleaning earlier this year (Jan '24) and the rate they billed insurance for just the cleaning was $97. What insurance actually paid them was $45! Yet now, TMFD wants to charge me $112. I called around and found more sympathetic dentists to my current situation who not only had a less expensive rate to begin with, but offered a discount to cash paying customers (because they know they're going to collect more from a cash paying customer they offer a 10-25% discount than they would billing insurance). Once we have insurance again, no problem. Just amazed that TMFD wasn't willing to work with us and would so easily loose two loyal customers! BTW, their in-house plan wasn't that great of an option, once you run the numbers.

That was my husband's experience here. We finally stopped going when I started having tooth pain from one of their fillings, and they brought a little model in to show me how a filling can end up being too deep in the tooth so the tooth splits, and how I needed a crown. Afterwards when I was left in the booth to think about the options they had given me, I realized that I could overhear the doctor giving the person in the next booth the same exact explanation, and I remembered that this is the reason my husband was given for needing crowns. I've never had this type of damage happen from any other fillings I've had from other dentists, so it's astounding that it happens so often with this practice. My next dentist just shaved the filling down to match my bite better, and it's been fine. He was also able to reapply my husband's crowns in a way that kept them in place for a couple of years, now. I was reminded of our experience here by a recent conversation, and judging by reviews the miss-handling is ongoing so I thought I'd add my piece to save the teeth of others. To be fair, all of the staff and doctors are very nice when you're there, but that doesn't change a lifetime of damaged teeth.

I had a toothache so I called them up. they were able to see me within the hour. I called them at 9am and I was sitting in the chair getting my tooth x-ray at 9:45(good luck finding anywhere else that will see you so quickly). It turns out I needed some work done and I had a sinus infection. I got a temp crown, 3 fillings, a full cleaning, antibiotics, and prescription pain meds all within the same day(I came back a week later to finish the crown). and it didn't break my wallet! I was pleasantly surprised. My insurance paid for 4/5ths of the procedure. My teeth are in good shape and my bite is perfect. I quite enjoyed the professionals who worked on me. They were really kind and considerate. I kept getting bits of stuff in my beard during the procedure but the hygienist was careful to keep me clean and my dignity was protected.
