So all of the old reviews that mention Marsh don't apply to this newer store, now called Needler's Fresh Market. I don't know -- I think Needler's is pretty good! It has a little bakery on site (Lemon's Bakery Cafe), which has hot food and baked goods, with seating by big windows that overlook Mass Ave. Beyond the cafe, the rest of the joint is a small grocery store. You'll find a modest produce section with fresh-looking greens and fruit and things. They sell house-made hummus and sushi. The wine section is abysmal, but I did find a bottle of one of my cheapie low-key favorite bottles of Malbec here, so I picked that up. The dried ramen section is also better than it needs to be. The prices seem to be about the same as Kroger and other grocery stores. Checkout was quick and there were several registers open. The only thing is that I entered through the cafe and exited by the registers, so I got a little turned around once I exited. Keep in mind that you can only enter/exit through the cafe at certain hours. They lock that door after a particular time. (I think it's 5 or 6 p.m.)

Took a friend some weeks later to try the gin. She too loved it. And we are now big fans of their coffee liqueur. I will definitely be back.

It was built in 1894 to function as a more permanent home for the Indiana Dental College (IDC). For a couple of decades, this was the spot where the city's dentists trained before the school was acquired by Indiana University and moved to its current location several blocks west to the campus of IU Indianapolis. The structure was officially added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Often the staff will be able to recommend another location and perhaps even be able to check with staff at that other location to see if the alternative store has what you're looking for.

After some time looking on my own, I asked another employee, who was much more helpful. He took the time to check and explained that they were likely out of stock and that the online inventory isn't always accurate. He also mentioned how popular the pretzels are and that they sell out quickly--even he buys several when they come in. My husband was also looking for a small bottle of Cointreau, but they were out of that as well. I decided to try another flavor of the pretzels - Sweet and Sparky. These were good, had a spice to them with the buffalo flavoring. These bags are priced at $6.49. I'd like to eventually try the other flavors, including the one I was looking for. This visit was hit-or-miss in terms of customer service and item availability.

I discovered this place because it was next door to the Goodyear where my headlamp was being replaced. AWESOME selection! Salted Caramel bourbon? No problem. Olive juice for dirty martinis? Yep, they had it. Elderflower liqueur for French gimlets? More than one variety to choose from. Plus dozens of other interesting things -- and the best collection of tequila I've seen yet in Indiana. (It's my fave... what can I say?) The prices looked really good on a number of bar staples (Sailor Jerry spiced rum, Tanqueray and Beefeater gins, etc.), and service was efficient and pleasant.
