Upon pulling into the facility we noticed it was well gated and liked the privacy screens on the fence so the dogs in care wouldn't go bizerk when we pulled up causing a distraction to the whole place. The lobby smelled clean and had a faint homey cinnamon smell which was comforting (A main priority for us was the smell cause it really tells you a lot about the care of that makes sense) We explained that he didn't do well with other dogs in the past, has pollen allergies since we're still adjusting to San Antonio, and that he had some anxiety medication in case he needed it. Turns out he gets along with other dogs very well and made many friends! He also was able to play and tolerate outdoors much better, and he didn't need his meds the last few days of his stay. Huge improvement! We highly appreciate that they offered 24/7 webcams and believe me, we checked in VERY often. I loved that they sent us pictures and messages daily keeping in communication. We feel the care our pup received was excellent and we will definitely will bring him back anytime we need to board him. Staff is extremely nice and Ariel did a great job on his grooming! Both receive meds 2x daily by mouth, and the one also gets injections 2x daily for her diabetes. My father (out of state) has recently fallen ill, and due to staffing their normal vet was unable to board the cats. We were faced with a difficult decision, would one of us have to stay home? One cat is aggressive, and the other super timid. We can't just leave it to anyone, now that they need medication. That is where Amy comes in. We have never used her before and were somewhat apprehensive. She came before we left, for a meet and greet - to learn all the nuances and hiding spots of our kitties. Her personality put us at ease. She asked appropriate questions and listened to all our concerns. With her vet tech experience, we felt confident that our kitties would be medicated and looked after while we were gone. She sent us daily pictures and texts, had to think outside the box when the cats were resistant to being medicated, and left us notes in a notebook on how it was going for us to read when we got home. We even had to extend our trip by a day, and she said she was willing and available to cover the void. Our cats warmed up to her, let her pet them, sat beside her and trusted her in a way that it has taken others years to develop. We came home to clean litter boxes, happy and healthy cats, and had piece of mind, knowing they were in good hands. She even picked up our mail!! It was such a comfort to know they were able to be left in their own home despite all their special needs and were cared for as we would have done had we been here. I hired Lauren for a second time to pet sit for 5 days, 2 scheduled visits a day, mornings 9am-11am and evenings 6pm-9pm. Even with the instructions that were on the website she uses for communication and the notes that I left around the house, Lauren didn't follow any of these things. Her services were well below poor. She came at whatever time was convenient for her meaning my pets had to wait to be fed and let outside to relieve themselves well into the late afternoon and early morning hours between 12am-130am. I left instructions on cleaning my dogs paws off before letting her come back into the house so mud was tracked on the carpet. Lauren ignored this and even made a mess herself. There was evidence that she used our bathroom and muddy shoe prints on our rug. I'm guessing because she did not adhere to the routine and schedule I had in place and paid for, my pets were very stressed and had diarrhea, not only just in the litter box but on pillows as well. If Lauren had been coming to the house regularly, she would have seen this. Had she been doing her job that she charged me for, she would have noticed the mess and my pets being stressed out and could have contacted me. My pets veterinary information is on her website and I have probiotics at home. This could have easily been cleared up but she didn't do her job properly. Halfway through the 5 days, communication was scarce. I had to contact her to figure out what was going on. She finally gave me some wacky excuses about her phone being in a repair place due to it being broken. Even if that were true (which I don't think it is) she claims that you have to put all communications in her website just in case she can't make it to a scheduled visit, that way someone else has the information. If she had people working for her, she should have someone that can relay information to her clients. Despite there being cameras all over my house with time stamps, Lauren still choose to lie to me. I caught her in several lies like the one I just described. One day my neighbor contacted me to let me know that some packages were on my porch all day (delivered early in the morning) so they brought them into their home so nobody would steal them. I asked Lauren if she had noticed any packages on my porch that morning and she said she hadn't noticed anything but would check when she came during the evening visit. Had she actually come in the morning like she was supposed to, she would have seen it. The last day she was scheduled to come by the house, she kept texting me to ask me what time I would be home. She texted me several times asking me this and I know it was because she was trying to see if she could get away with coming to my house super late again. This was the first time that entire week that she constantly communicated with me in a timely manner. When we finally did get home we noticed litter boxes were not cleaned properly, dirt/mud on the floors, carpets, and rugs. Our dog was not fed properly. Our cats were sick and stressed. My house was a mess and I never leave it like that. Nobody should have to come home from vacation and have to vacuum and do laundry. I did try to communicate with Lauren about a refund but she did not contact me back. I knew I wasn't going to hear from her so I contacted my bank and had them reverse my charges and do an investigation. About three days later, Lauren contacted me through text and said she was on vacation and didn't have any cell service (which I think is another lie, I'm sure she took a couple of days to construct an excuse). By that time, the investigation had already begun and I knew that i would never deal with her again. Moral of the story is do not hire Lauren and her company to watch your pets. They may be neglected like mine were, the risk isn't worth it!

Yesterday was her first grooming here. As I was looking her over today, I am VERY pleased. My prior groomers of 3 years let her ears get overgrown. Pretty Pooch cleaned them up and did an amazing job with her cut. And, they took extra time trying to make it a good experience since she was new and scared. I am a doting mama and I highly recommend Pretty Pooch.
