I was a bit worried about having to rely on antibiotics or heavier medications, but the team took a more holistic approach and worked with me to address the root of the problems. Over time, we were able to clear everything up without using treatments that could have impacted his immune system. I really appreciated how thoughtful and patient they were throughout the process, and how they took the time to explain things clearly. If you're looking for a vet that considers the bigger picture and supports your pet's overall health, this is a great place to go.

He received necessary procedures including blood transfusion to stabilize his condition. I did not want to leave him at ER for more tests and observations because I have never had any pets survived ER stays. We did receive blood transfusion and medications which seemed to be working and were told that he needed medical attention in order to survive. Since his regular vet was helpless, I decided to look into alternatives. I found this place on Yelp with raving reviews, and like most pet owners in desperate situations, I decided to give it a try. I first spoke with I believe her name was Lyric. She was very charming and well spoken, and made an appointment immediately. I also recieved a call from Yael after I emailed over my cat's medical records and was told that she thinks my cat simply had urinary track infection and she can help. During our visit, Yael and Lyric worked together and performed a basic exam, then I was told that we need a biofeedback scan which will tell us exactly what's going on. This " procedure " consist of sticking two wet pads somewhere on the underside of my cat, and the wires connected the wet pads to a laptop which supposedly would feed all the information to a program. I thought that seemed overly simple, but I was in a state of panic, I chose to believe it's some advanced science that I didn't understand. I was told that they will rush the result but it will be later that evening or next day. Then Yael proceeded to prescribe a list of remedies which is mostly supplements including a jar of homemade yogurt. The visit, including all the remedies I was told were necessary, came to just under $700. They also only accept cash or Zelle payments, no credit cards. The instruction I was given was to stop the medicationd from ER immediately and only take what was prescribed by Yael, and I did. At home, shortly after I gave my cat what Yael prescribed, he started vomiting violently and was visibly weaker. I call and told Yael what was happening and was met with loud, non-stop yelling, telling me that her remedies were right and I must follow her instructions. The biofeedback report showed pages of colorful breakdown and included readings of "pepsine secretion coefficient" and "small intestine peristalsis function" values, plus "protien metabolism value", "liver fat content value", plus kidney, lung function analysis, even blood circulation system analysis, etc. This program of theirs can read all these from two wet pad sticked to the skin of my cat? I ultimately decided to consult with a licensed vet, and luckily I found Dr. Sharp from a referral, and my cat's conditions improved without complications within days at a quarter of the cost. He is healthy and happy today. As pet parents, we are vulnerable to be taken advantage of when our pets become critically ill. I hope my experience can be helpful to anyone in similar situation and can make proper decisions for both your pets and you.

Unfortunately when Leo turned for the worst I knew it was time to set up the appointment to say good bye to him, when I called the woman on the phone was so absurdly rude!! I asked if they offered it with along we cremation and the woman just says "yes". I asked how much and she seemed very annoyed her reply "idk it depends on the size of the dog" I told her he was 5lbs and she let out a sigh because she had to look it up. She gave me a price range. Then I asked if the cremation was done individually or in a group she told me it was in a group so I told her I'd give her a call back because I wanted to talk to my fiancé about if that's what we wanted to do with him. I then told the woman that we were already patients there and her whole attitude changed, her tone of voice got soft and was then apologetic. It rubbed me the wrong way so we took our Leo else where to say goodbye. The vet techs and the vet who did our acupuncture were always so kind but their receptionists always seemed annoyed to be there and after this experience over the phone I will no longer be recommending this vet. Leo really liked the vet techs, so unfortunate. Saying bye to a pet is not easy, especially to make the call to set up the appointment so you'd think they'd have SOME compassion for these situations. Very disappointed.

I established care with Holistika Veterinary Clinic in 2024 with one of my cats (I have two)…read more During my first visit I spent over $1,000 on consultation and services. Because of the cost, I needed some time before bringing my second cat in. During that time my second cat had a medical emergency -- a urinary blockage. I rushed him to the emergency vet, where the bill escalated quickly since everything was out of pocket. The emergency vet suggested that to save money, they could give me my cat's urine sample so my regular vet could run the lab tests instead of running them at the emergency hospital. I immediately called Holistika Vet because they were the only veterinarian I had an established relationship with. I was extremely distressed and crying because the emergency vet had told me there was a 50% chance my cat might not survive and that follow-up with my regular vet would be important. The receptionist told me it was their policy that they could not see my second cat because he had never been examined there before. I explained that I understood the policy but asked if they could at least run the urine tests (which I would pay for) to help us understand what caused the blockage. Unfortunately, I was told they could not do that either and that the tests would have to be done at the emergency hospital. The conversation felt very cold and unsympathetic during a moment that was extremely frightening for me as a pet owner. Fast forward to February 2026 -- I scheduled an appointment for both of my cats. A few days before the appointment I received an email canceling it, stating they would no longer see my pets because I had given attitude to the receptionist during the emergency call months earlier. I went in person to speak with management to explain the situation and my perspective. I was told they had no record of the conversation but were still refusing future care. For me, the most disappointing part of this experience was the lack of compassion during a very serious emergency and the refusal to even run a test that could have helped guide my cat's care. Thankfully, I have since found another holistic veterinarian in Glendale, California who has been incredibly supportive.

We came here to look for more natural alternatives and met with Dr. Chau. We left feeling more optimistic about potential natural solutions for our fur baby. Our pup is aggressive and bit one of the techs during the saliva sampling - we were absolutely mortified and felt so terrible but the whole staff was so understanding. Everyone there is so sweet and we look forward to the partnership to find a long term solution for our dog. We left with Chinese herbs to help with his severe skin allergies so I'm excited to see if these help him out in the next few weeks! We will also have a follow up consultation once his food allergy test results come back (it's about a 2-3 week lead time).

The staff was very sweet and welcoming, and the experience was everything I could've asked for. A very sad moment for me was done with peace and precision. I had a very upsetting experience with Dr. Pasternak in early 2024 that I still think about today…read more At the time, my 16-year-old rescue dog, Piper--who I've had for 12 of those years--suddenly began screaming in pain a few days after I returned from vacation. At first I thought it might be a strain, but the episodes became more frequent, sometimes waking me up in the middle of the night. I was extremely worried and just wanted to help her. A friend recommended Dr. Pasternak because he really has been incredible with her dog who was suffering from similar symptoms. she also said he takes a more holistic approach and avoids unnecessary pharmaceuticals. When I called the office first thing in the morning, the front desk staff were incredibly kind and told me to come in right away without an appointment. When we arrived, the front desk was just as compassionate and they were able to get us seen quickly, which I appreciated. A vet tech came in first to take Piper's vitals. At the time, I thought he might have been the veterinarian. When Dr. Pasternak came in, however, the interaction quickly became uncomfortable. It was primarily the demeanor of Dr. Pasternak that made the experience so upsetting. He was dismissive and abrupt from the start, which my neighbor--who had accompanied me--also noticed. He immediately asked why I hadn't brought my dog's previous medical records. I explained that in the urgency of the situation that was the last thing on my mind, but that the VCA emergency hospital across the street had them and could easily email them over. He appeared irritated by this. I also explained the medications Piper was currently on and that I had given her a full dose of trazodone before the visit to help calm her anxiety. Piper is blind and has high anxiety, but she is generally very gentle with people. Dr. Pasternak then stated that he would not treat her because the stress of the visit could potentially cause her to have a heart attack. The vet tech, seeing how distressed I was, tried to comfort both me and Piper and gently held her to help keep her calm. The only thing Dr. Pasternak offered was an injection, which he administered. Feeling shaken and still desperate for help, we immediately went to the VCA hospital across the street. The staff there treated Piper and were surprised by how the situation had been handled. Piper ended up needing about three weeks of recovery. Those weeks involved many sleepless nights, often sleeping on the floor beside her to keep her from jumping while she healed. I'm sharing this experience simply to encourage other pet owners to thoroughly research veterinary providers and consider multiple opinions, even when a recommendation comes from a trusted source. I didn't bother to read the reviews before our visit with later regret. Giving 1 star vs none as the office staff and vet technician were very kind during this extremely stressful and worrisome situation.

Tiptoeing walking on eggshells you name it miss use of Authority and the pet suffers as a result. Highly inhumane. What was once a very optimistic sigh of relief for a very nervous rescue could not be further from that situation at this point only found out after working with her. I already paid once for an after visit follow through for information. She should've followed through naturally on her own with. It's very disheartening to attempt to be reprimanded by your vet because of their unprofessionalism and lack of follow through and for me to be pointed out as difficult. All dialogue post initial visit should have been included in the initial visit or she should've stayed to follow through during that time. By no fault of my own, I continued to follow instructions and continue to believe and take her for her word. She talks over you and doesn't let you finish. She doesn't hear what you're saying or whatever you're saying she hears it incorrectly and lashes out at you. Very disappointed. I was very hopeful and very happy at one point. There are many other mobile vets in Los Angeles. Keep looking elsewhere. I'm a very compassionate, patient and kind and absolutely generous client. There is no reason for this behavior from any "professional."
