At first, I was skeptical about paying to wash my own darn dogs but it was such a better experience than hosing my dog down in the yard. The front staff was great at checking in to see if I needed anything or had any questions - they all were super friendly and even offered to hang onto my dogs while I pulled up curbside in the car to keep the dogs dry in the rain! Decided to give new guy (James) a chance. BIG MISTAKE as he nearly shaved my dog and even did that poorly, very uneven. He didn't clean his ears or teeth as I paid him to and nails are smooth or even. My dog has irritation around his eye and anus from the terrible trim or rather shave job. Mgr, Melissa stated that James didn't know how to look up my pet's previous grooming history with all the notes that clearly state my preferences and what cutting guides to use. So James decided to wing it and do that fastest easiest cut there is, cut them close! However he left his belly hair much longer, didnt attempt to blend his cuts, there are literal cut lines clearly visible, didn't clean or pluck his ears, his face hair and whiskers are randomly cut and he didn't even blow dry him which I specifically stated and requir (FYI, my dog loves being blow dried when done correctly and with heat turned off. We have a pro pet dryer at home) I spoke with mgr and was refused a refund but she offered to try and fix his poor haircut. She admitted to seeing it prior to me picking him up but didn't fix the problem then. She did apologize but told me the owner (Alexis) doesn't allow refunds. This place has experienced a mass exodus of their best and most experienced groomers in recent weeks which suggests there are some serious mgt issues. PROTECT you beloved pet, go elsewhere.

When I'd take him to other groomers, we'd always end up at the vet two days later after he'd have a terrible outbreak or some sort of reaction to products being used or being put under a dryer. This has never been an issue at Charlie's Place. On our first visit I told them all about my concerns and my dog and they have taken amazing care of him ever since. They also don't cram him in a tiny crate - they have a huge area for him to hang out in which I really appreciate since he's so large. All of the staff here is amazing and friendly and I always feel so comfortable leaving my pup with them for the day. It's also one of his favorite days too! When we'd use other groomers, as soon as they'd try and take him back, he'd just lay down which made it so hard on me and I knew something wasn't right. But here, he happily trots back, tail wagging, and doesn't think about me until I come to get him again. I know he's happy and for me, thats worth it. He also always looks amazing. Duncan is fragile and has glaucoma in both eyes so he gets super scared and shifty if you touch him and he hates being groomed. Celeste was able to get rid of all his mattes and overgrown nails, (no one wanted to groom him because he's so old and frail so he was in pretty bad shape), he came back very clean and happy. She is very affordable too, and she picked him up and dropped him. I loved that she explained exactly what she did for him and she even gave me instructions on how to continue to keep eyes clean at home. I'll definitely use her again, and I would highly recommend her especially if you have difficult dogs.

My pup has been going here for ~2 months. I like the pack environment for him. He is only a puppy…read moreand the thought of him being kenneled all day but an occasional 15-20 min was not ideal. Since he's able to run and play, he gets that puppy energy out and allows us to focus on training when he's home. He's excited to go in the morning and when gets excited to see the staff. The staff are great. I hear them work with him on training cues and I've heard them gush over him. I love seeing the pictures on their site and frequently get reports of the birthday parties he's attended. I enjoy talking and joking around with the staff and feel very comfortable leaving my boy there for the day. In the beginning I had the yard camera on all day and would look for him to make sure he was all right, now, I turn it on from time to time but don't feel I NEED to watch all of the time. We're both very happy.
