They had all kinds of things from exercise machines, to toaster ovens, lawn mowers, apple watches, even quesadilla makers . We found a whole line up of sanders and the man working the counter was very friendly and asked if we had been there before. The sander was listed for 24 dollars but he lowered it to 20 without us even asking for a price reduction. I would come back here if I was in the Bridgeport area again.

I brought in a new in box un-opened Brother sewing machine which averaged $99.00 on eBay for like condition. I wanted to pawn it to retrieve it later but was offered exclusively a buy it outright amount of only $30.00. When I asked him why he said that eBay average was $50.00. I told him that was not true, I'd checked and he must be referring to refurbished models. I knew that he could sell it in the abundance of retail space he now has for much more. He then said that no one would come there for a sewing machine and said take it or leave it. Yes, I parted with the sewing machine for $30.00 because it was a matter of gas for the week. My 4 yr old granddaughter asked me if we were going to get the sewing machine back and I told her no. She had been begging me to make her school clothes, (which I can't afford), and cried incessantly. I called Pat and asked if he would reconsider the pawn and I'd be back in around 2 weeks, he said bring $38.00 and I could have it back. Long story short, I returned to be told that the price was $50.00 and we never had that conversation. To make matters worse, he told me that he intended to put it on the shelf for $75.00. Thank goodness my granddaughter wasn't with me this time. There are at least 3 other Pawn Shops in a 3 mile radius of this one. I suggest you comparison shop before dealing with this one. I'm a collector of handbags and sadly, found myself in need of quick cash. (But NOT for another bag.) I take great care of all my purses and each bag reflected this. I'd seen bags here once in a while, including a small fabric Coach, so I thought they could use mine. Quite oddly, I was told otherwise. But without any explanation which, of course, they don't really need to provide. I went to another shop where I was able to sell them all. I figured a pawn shop would want to obtain great quality items but I wasn't even offered a price. Well, if I ever need to sell an item quickly, obviously I've found a place elsewhere.

I was shocked being I paid that price when I purchased it 20 years prior. He said, very few people work with silver jewelry, and it would take several weeks. I certainly was not going to have him repair it. I've had gold items repaired for much less. I was in Stratford and saw MJs, I figured I would get a price on the repair. They were very friendly and accommodating. I expected that I would have been given an estimate that was equivalent to the prior jeweler (I assumed he was being HONEST with me). They took one look at the bracelet and said it would cost $35 and they would only need two days. The repair was pretty extensive; the clasp and the link were worn and needed to be seemed and rebuilt structurally. That price brought a huge smile to my face. I was so happy there are some honest people still out there, that was so reassuring, (Obviously. I was pretty upset with the prior Jewler, he simply was stealing my money). The repair was amazing and showed a high level of skill and craftsmanship. It literally looked brand new. Obviously, don't waste your time and money with any other jewelers. If you're looking for an honest and friendly jeweler, a laid-back family atmosphere, fast repair, and great customer service. Look no further. Bill S.
