I have been going to pawn king for years. The staff has always been very honest with the value of my things and has even been willing to buy things they truly have no need for in the shop because I was in a jam but they held some value(with in reason). I one time, was a few days late on a payment and they were very accommodating (again, with in reason). The owner and his staff are always very knowledgeable about gold and jewlery and when they truly aren't sure, they tell the truth. I had a guitar stolen from me along with about $17,000 worth of other items. Attached are photos of the guitar that we took, and then the photos of the guitar after the fact. All of the scratches are the exact same. I saw the guitar on offer up and went down there to ask them to help me out with about when the item was sold, what they sold it for, and if any other items by the guy were sold. They were incredibly rude and told me to "get fucked" and to go contact the police. I already have a police report but the detective is very (it happened in Bridgeport) so he has not been able to contact Stratford. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I've been going here for over a decade. When I first moved to CT from Calif., 9-11 hit just weeks later. Times were tough for everyone. Purchased a Fender 1983 stratocaster from pawn king in apr. for 600.00 dollars plus 50.00 shipping. 100% USA made in FULLERTON CA. Original home of FENDER GUITAR. Beautiful rare guitar. I thought. To make a long story short. I pulled it out of the closet a few months later to take it to the guitar man and have him check out my 650.00 dollar investment. And surprise!!!!!!!!!!! my beautiful 1983 fender stratocaster had been butchered to install some awful chinese aftermarket hardware.Pickups, volume pod, tone pod pickguard, wiring, all chinese. Couldn not believe it. Asked PAWN KING for a refund. That wasnt going to happen. So i asked if they would split the difference in purchasing original hardware . 200.00 each That wasnt going to happen either. So it looks like ill part it out to try to make up for my loss.
