I certainly was not going to have him repair it. I've had gold items repaired for much less. I was in Stratford and saw MJs, I figured I would get a price on the repair. They were very friendly and accommodating. I expected that I would have been given an estimate that was equivalent to the prior jeweler (I assumed he was being HONEST with me). They took one look at the bracelet and said it would cost $35 and they would only need two days. The repair was pretty extensive; the clasp and the link were worn and needed to be seemed and rebuilt structurally. That price brought a huge smile to my face. I was so happy there are some honest people still out there, that was so reassuring, (Obviously. I was pretty upset with the prior Jewler, he simply was stealing my money). The repair was amazing and showed a high level of skill and craftsmanship. It literally looked brand new. Obviously, don't waste your time and money with any other jewelers.
