I am amending my above review, two months later, to include this update: after resistance on their part, and some persistence on mine, Lenox did replace my defective watch. They were reluctant to do this, but I disputed the credit charge and they eventually came around. I also believe that my negative reviews (here and on Google) played a factor in this. As I mentioned above: One thing about self-winding, mechanical Breitlings: they need to be wound every day if not worn. The wrist motion of wearing them will wind them; however, if they are not wound while not being worn, they will stop. Also, they can run fast by six seconds, or run slow by four seconds, EVERY DAY! They do not keep accurate time. So much for them being chronometers. Would I shop at Lenox again? No, they made this process so difficult. So, be forewarned. read more

I searched on the internet for a watch repair shop for my vintage Breitling. It needed an extra link for the steel bracelet so it would fit more comfortably on my wrist so I headed off to Lenox Jewelers in Fairfield. Kenny, the Manager was able to find and add the new link to the old bracelet. The match was perfect and Kenny told me that there would no charge. Well that was 5 years ago and since then I have had nothing but great experiences with Lenox Jewelers in Fairfield. I have also purchased a few Swiss watches and had repair work done as well. Pretty sad about leaving such a terrible review for a business I used to support. I went in to Lenox today to get my ring finger sized as I'm recently engaged, sans ring. I called ahead to make sure they didn't mind sizing me even though I wouldn't be making a purchase today. The woman on the phone said of course and was very friendly. I arrived shortly after the call. The woman I spoke with wasn't there, and a man pointed me to an older man behind the main desk. Full disclosure, although I'm 31 and gainfully employed, I look about 15, am often mistaken for a high school or college student, and was on the way to the gym and dressed as so. The man took one look at me and all but rolled his eyes. I could feel the annoyance at my presence coming at me hard, even before I began to speak. I told him about my phone call, he wordlessly took out the sizer (literally not one word) and sized me. I felt uncomfortable and tried to make a joke about him being able to guess ring sizes by now, to which he gave me a curt "no." That's fine, he's not obligated to have a sense of humor and I'm not really that funny, it was just awkward. He sized me, I thanked him, and then as I began trying to talk with him, he pulled out his phone and began scrolling through Rolex images. I continued what I was saying, and he cut me off mid sentence without even raising his eyes in my direction and said "can I help you with anything else?" I said no and left. Sad thing is, this is where my fiancé and I had planned to get our ring and bands. Not anymore! Kinda felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, as he seemed to decide on sight he wouldn't get a commission from me and acted accordingly... sad situation all around. read more

While others would have said , " no way thats impossible " Mike made me feel as if this was was something with patience would be able to happen and come into fruition. Another employee told me to "come back tomorrow"!!! After driving 20 miles, thats what you say to a customer!! I think not! I just moved to Fairfield and was looking for a new local resource to add my watch collection. I went to Lenox Jewelers and was shocked by the blatantly dismissive and snobby staff. Get over yourselves! I happened to be dressed down that day, but I own multiple businesses and have a respectable Rolex collection. I was wearing my Submariner which should suggest that I'm a potential buyer if anyone cared to engage with me. I inquired about watches and was indifferently asked what I was looking for "specifically". I said I wasn't sure, but would like to see a few Daytonas and Sky Dwellers. When I tried to be a bit more "specific", he abruptly answered, "we don't have that right now". Hmmm.. how about showing me what you DO have? No eye contact and he never stopped polishing a watch he had in his hand then just kind of walked away. Despite his unapologetic rudeness, I waited for another salesman to finish with a couple at the Rolex case. He gave them brochures upon departure, yet when it was my turn he walked away and I was left to look in the case without being offerend any assistance. I was in shock! I was there to buy! I felt like a fool and headed out the door without a "thank you for visiting", a "may we e-mail you when we receive a new delivery?" or even a simple, "goodbye". This experience was a salesman 101 FAIL. Lenox will get ZERO % of my business. It's clear they don't want my money as I was obviously judged for my faded T-shirt and stained Cargo shorts. How about actually talking to your customers? Lower your noses and do your jobs. read more

I dropped by to look at some watches for my husband's upcoming birthday and I have to say that a lot of the jewelry was well presented and looked wonderful but the customer service was below par. I don't know his name but there was a middle aged gentleman there who appeared bothered by my presence. When I asked some questions, two questions to be exact, he loudly sighed then gave me snappy toned responses. For me it's usually the quality of the items that matter most but with costly jewelry the salesman should at the very least pretend to have some respect for a potential customer. D.R. I purchased a wedding band for my husband before Christmas 2013. We returned 12.27 for the ring to be sized. I was told the correct size monogramed would be back no later than 1/14. Had several great experiences here. Service is quick enough and staff is polite. I don't know any workers personally but reading some of these nasty reviews prompted me to give my positive review. As you can see, most of the poor reviews are poorly written and this place has been robbed in the past, so it is NOT racial profiling when you look around, don't ask questions, and quickly leave. Also, don't insult a great company for having to buzz you in. Most jewelers need to and their lives are worth more than a thug's. So today was a first for me I was actually racially profiled at the Rolex store located on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield Ct. So If you know me, you know I love watches with that being said.....I walk into Rolex with my son and his best friend and we are looking around at all the watches seeing if I like anything...nothing catches my eye so we leave and go grab something to eat....now we didn't even pick up a watch or ask to see one! After we leave from eating I am pulled over by not 1...not 2...but 3 Fairfield police officers!!!! I proceed to ask why am I being pulled over, and they stated that they got a call from rolex store saying that we look suspicious while we were there!!! ARE YOU FUCKIN KIDDING ME!!! Things could have turned out better, but although I found the staff polite, their service left a lot to be desired. My request was simple enough: Please change the batteries on two watches. Upon arrival, I was asked if I had ever been to the store before and after responding in the negative, the gentleman said "Welcome to Lenox Jewelers." I then answered a few questions about the watches and was told they would be ready the following Saturday. Since I was planning to be away for the weekend, I said I would return on Monday. I left with a receipt that noted total charges of $31.00. I returned on Monday, handed over the receipt, and waited patiently while the staffer searched for my watches. Ten minutes later, they finally appeared. The lady opened the package and noted that one of the two watches was not working. I found that curious since it had been working when I dropped it off. (Indeed, the gentleman who received the watches asked why I was bringing it in. I told him that it was a multifunction watch that required battery replacement when any of the functions stopped working.) In any case, I made it clear that if the watch was working when it came in, I expected it to be working when I picked it up. She then brought it over to the watchmaker, who apparently decided to pay attention this time and got it working properly. When the watch was handed to me, one of the other staffers mentioned that they usually don't work on digital watches. Just fine, but they could have told me that when I brought it in. With no explanation, the charge went from $31.00 to $58.00. Not a lot of money, but yet further evidence of service that fell short of the mark. Neither of these watches was particularly costly. And yes, I do have a Patek Philippe. But no, it is not going to Lenox Jewelers for service. A most unfortunate experience, one that I don't plan to repeat. read more

I bought my Breitling here about 10 years ago, and I was very happy. The staff were friendly, someone greeted you at the door, and service was fast. Went back 2 day, to find the door locked in armed with a buzzer, absolutely no smiles, and being told that if I wanted to change my watch battery I would have to leave it there until Saturday, although they use to change them in about 20 minutes. The reason I was given was that the guy with a year and a half ago. Gee, maybe it's time to replace him. I will try somewhere else. read more

This store has the worst customer attitudes of anywhere I have ever been. I own a Rolex Quartz and until about 5-10 years ago they used to be able to install a new battery and check the timepiece's watertight integrity returning it ready to go for another year and a half. Since I had a need for a major service, and did not get back a watch in as new condition, they have been very evasive and RUDE toward me about anything regarding the Rolex. They make up stories and complain about me rather than pursue customer satisfaction. In the time-frame I mentioned the store has had a lot of turnover with their attitude going from simply arrogant and snooty to unconscionably rude, abrasive and discriminatory. I was working at home on my yard and came in only to drop off the watch looking, I thought, perhaps like a landscaping laborer which led the owner or assistant manager to treat me like dirt and basically refuse to take the watch for the battery. Today, I spoke to the manager who previously handled my order who claimed he/they had bent over backwards for me and I better stop complaining or they will not service my watch. I am a retired corporate manager from IBM, for the record.. I recommend finding another store that sends the watch directly to Rolex in New York. Although it may take a little longer to just have a battery replaced, avoiding the crass behavior of the staff at Lenox is well worth the trouble. In fact, they even make a major issue out of changing a battery by dragging it out to a two or three day process. These people should not even be running lemonade stands. read more
