Basque Cheesecake

The softest, stretchiest, freshest handmade mochi in the East Village! I tried the strawberry jam mochi from Pavlo a while back and couldn't get over how soft it was. This time I went back to try more flavors and can confirm: every single one hits!! Each mochi is filled with fresh mousse cream or fruit jam. Unlike traditional japanese mochi, which tends to be denser and chewier, theirs has a pillowy, cloud-like wrapper that's extra stretchy and light. They just dropped a Lunar New Year box ($36) with exclusive Asian-inspired flavors, including 2 strawberry and red bean, 2 matcha, lotus seed and raspberry, and 2 black sesame and blueberry. *Mango Passionfruit Vanilla $4.75 * *Dubai Chocolate $6.25 ** *Rose Prosecco $4.75 *Valentine's Day Special *Strawberry Matcha Latte $6.75 * If I had to pick faves, the dubai chocolate was dangerously rich and addictive, but heavier than the fruity ones so I couldn't finish in one sitting. Matcha raspberry was a standout too. Elite combo with their strawberry matcha latte. I love the adorable Barbie-pink storefront. It's so eye-catching and fun. The staff were friendly and helpful. I accidentally dropped my mochi on the floor, and she kindly offered to replace it with another piece.

Came here during the summer and sat on a bench just outside the shop. There were two girls on the bench opposite ours raving loudly at how good the mochi is. As they finished their's they talked about which flavor they wanted to get next time. They planned to get two each time (their favorite one and try a new one). It was the cutest thing. I love mochi and came to check this place out after seeing it on social media. I brought my friend (who isnt a big mochi person). As soon as my friend and I tried the mochis, we were both raving about it too. It's stretchy, soft and perfectly chewy. It doesn't stick to your teeth and the desserts aren't too sweet. Many of them have a cream filling but they don't feel heavy/oily! Today we tried the mango passion fruit vanilla mochi (their best seller) and the citrus mochi. I was going to also get the banana milk jam but the staff told me that right now, anyone who writes a review gets a banana milk jam mochi. The banana milk jam was our favorite today- hands down!! We took a bite and immediately knew. The flavor is strong and rich but not overpowering. We'll be back to try more :) Also, during the summer the inside of the shop was sparse but they've since updated it! Its so cute now!!

Tiramisu Mochi & Mango-Passionfruit Vanilla Mochi

We came to visit this spot after seeing it on social media and it was a small quant spot decorated in pink. Although there's not much space to eat in the store, the clerk let us stay to eat there. The mochis we got were the tiramisu and mango passionfruit vanilla mochis. Both were very light and creamy. The mango had a slight tang to it which I really liked. Although the prices are slightly high for what it is, they were still very good and very nice for the hot sunny day.

Strawberry matcha was nice just sweet enough and creamy the banana mochi was delicious lots of cream very soft. Service was quick and friendly. Very pink shop with a few tables.

I think mochi is like my new favorite thing. Before I thought it was good but like whatever. I might genuinely like mochi more than like chocolate chip cookies. AND I LOVE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. Anyways pavlo mochi is a dedicated mochi spot (maybe the first in town!!??) and it is so good. The mochi itself is soooooo soft and slightly chilled which I LOVE. I only tried the strawberry hazelnut flavor but will definitely be back to try other flavors. Stretchy outer mochi layer + sweet creamy inside. I love that the creamy hazelnut filling was cut by the strawberry jam as well that was slightly tart. The cream wasn't super creamy and whipped tho more like a bit soft and wet. Still together I loved the flavor combo and what a great dessert in general. Powdered sugar on the outside too! OH also there were chunks of chocolate in the hazelnut cream which added texture for me which I was a fan of but can see how some people may not like. +++++ points for the cutesy store and beautiful packaging and presentation of the mochi themselves!!! Decently big in size too.

I stopped in after a friend was raving about them. They have a nice store and they're open pretty late - 9pm. I had a hazelnut chocolate strawberry mochi. My friend says this is the weakest flavor but I usually like a chocolate strawberry combo. The mochi was just ok. I didn't realize they would put pieces of actual hazelnut inside which I didn't care for. The mochi is big so I only ordered one. The service was good. I'd come back to try another flavor

Cute mochi shop with fun flavors! This isn't the ice cream type of mochi or the traditional Japanese kind, instead it's filled with whipped cream and compotes/other fillings. I tried the passion mango one and the fruit flavor was good. Not a huge fan of whipped cream so didn't enjoy these as much as other mochis. Any whipped cream lover would love these! They also package the mochis well which is nice because they can be delicate.

((4.25 stars)) squeezed into Avenue B is Pavlo Mochi, a small spot serving a menu of unique mochi flavors, specialty coffee drinks, lemonades, bobas, ice cream and more! it's a small colorful space which is devoted mostly to the making of the menu and is neatly maintained. tried a number of the specialty coffee drinks. really enjoyed the Vanilla Coffee Ice as it is a subtle coffee drink made of vanilla coffee ice cubes melting in milk...which softens the flavor of the coffee and vanilla initially and then punches through as the ice cubes melting. coffee delivered in a creative way. had the strawberry matcha drink which i also really enjoyed as the flavors came together really in an interesting way--the matcha flavor with the tart sweetness of the strawberry punching through. toured a bunch of different drinks here and they all seem to be served in a sealed drink bottle with a tabbed top (think soda can) and each drink comes with a metal straw. really like this method of serving cold drinks. it's a nice touch. the owner, operator, chef, Pavlo, offered me a mango mochi to try and i obliged. this is a different class of mochi. more silky smooth and soft with only a slight bit of chewiness. the mochi i tried was not overly sweet, but had the essence of mango in the mochi's filling. the Pavlo mochi is much larger than your typical factory-made mochi that you typically encounter. the Pavlo mochi is also not rubbery in texture like other mochis that i have tried. the menu, here, feels creative and is focused on flavor than sugariness in its drinks and mochi imo. the owner and his staff are friendly. worth a visit if you want to try a dessert drink or eat off-the-beaten-path.

I stopped by Pavlo Mochi about 10 minutes before closing, but I called ahead and the staff were so kind and accommodating. They let me place my shake order over the phone just in case the machine was shut down by the time I arrived, which I really appreciated! I ordered four mochi and they even gave me one for free for leaving a review, which was such a sweet gesture. The mochi flavors were astonishingly good! The cherry tiramisu blew me away, it actually had real tiramisu inside! The others were incredibly creamy with fun layers of jam, syrup, and texture inside the filling, making each bite so satisfying. The mochi skin is on the thinner side and all the flavors lean sweet, but overall they were delightful. The shop and packaging are so adorable, bright and pink, perfect for cute, aesthetic photos. Between the friendly service and the creative flavors, I'll definitely be coming back!

Best mochi ever! It was super soft (literally the perfect texture) and the filling won the mango passion fruit vanilla was their perfect tart flavor. Nothings too sweet, the guy working here is super nice, and I love the colorful atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Wow, this little shop is unassuming, it definitely catches the eye, especially for someone like me…read morewho loves Asian pastries. I've never tried a Japanese cheesecake before and was extremely excited to be able to pick up some treats for my coworkers as well as my partner's birthday cake from Keki. Ordering is fairly straightforward and done with a simple machine outfront. Once your order is ready one of the staff members hands it to you through a window; there is no inside area accessible to customers but our food came quickly and we took it back to the office. The cheesecake was fantastic. I read a bit about the background of the shop online and how the owner really cares about using high-quality ingredients, specifically dairy. It was justas described, light and bouncy. I enjoyed how it was not overly sweet and found that it was all too easy to devour the entire cake over the course of two days. Despite it not having much weight to it, it traveled surprisingly well as I took it home on my three train commute! Similar to what others have said, the real highlight of the shop, in my opinion, are their cream puffs. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the outer layer was thin yet had a nice little crunch to it. We tried the classic milk, cookies & cream pistachio and ube flavors. Our favorite was the pistachio by far, which had such a unique yet decadent flavor and our second favorite was the milk cream puff. There's not much else I can say other than you really have to go here and try the desserts yourself. If you're a fan of Japanese desserts that are rich yet not too sweet, you'll be a fan of Keki.

There are lots of other tart places that do something sinilar and didn't really think these were that memorable. Just did take out option here so not much to ambiance or service from my experience to speak on.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! FYI - there are two unisex restrooms in the rear for customers to use with really cute wallpapers too.

We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
