If u checkin while you're there cut is $17 w a $3 coupon from yelp. Staff was friendly & kind to my child. Upon entering there are games & books to entertain kids while they wait & seats are miniature barber seats w/seat belts. There's a tv at each station that plays a corporate-made cartoon, animal crackers, and dum-dum lollipops to entertain /distract the child. Haircut was decent. I wanted a trim around my son's bowl cut look focusing around the ears, back of head, & bangs slightly above the eyebrows. The total truth: Layers weren't evenly cut if you looked at both sides individually & compared, the bangs weren't even, nor above eyebrows as I would have liked, higher on one corner than the other, and the back was mostly even (any mishaps not casually visual). TO BE FAIR TO STYLISTS, he is a squirmy kid & there ARE scissors in his face so caution IS a priority. The stylist was patient & kind. She DID ask me if it was satisfactory & I DID say yes. It's the same at any place that will cut a toddlers hair. At other places, Under scrutiny, I have had to inspect then retouch multiple times until I caught all those little things that I wanted to be perfect. He's squirmy-the stylists' concern is your child's safety first so we must be accommodating. The only way we have ever been able to get my child's hair "perfect" was if I held his head down for the detailed & final touches. A satisfying first experience, no complaints & I am mostly likely coming back for other cuts.

We got there, the women hastily got him in the chair and immediately started snipping. My son is crying and we're trying to console him, but she never gave us a minute and kept cutting away. His hair is so choppy. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. Would never go back.

ZERO STARS IF I COULD. Extremely unprofessional and completely unacceptable…read more I booked my son's haircut TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE through this barber's Booksy page. The appointment was confirmed for August 11 at 4:30 PM, and I planned around it specifically because my son started school the very next day. Then, at the LAST MINUTE, I was told that Booksy is only his "secondary booking app," that he was already completely booked on his "primary app," and that Booksy automatically confirms appointments. How is that the CUSTOMER'S problem? If you know Booksy is accepting and confirming appointments that you cannot honor, then block off your availability, turn off the app, or stop accepting bookings through it. What made it even worse was the complete lack of concern or effort to make the situation right. I explained that I had booked two weeks ago, had even messaged him on Instagram to make sure I had the correct booking site, and that my son started school the next morning. There was no genuine apology, no effort to honor the appointment, and no alternative time offered. Instead, I was basically sent a link to go find another barber. After doing everything I was supposed to do as a customer, booking in advance and receiving a confirmed appointment. I was left scrambling at the last minute to find someone else to cut my son's hair before school. Being busy is understandable. Being overbooked because you choose to operate on multiple booking platforms and then making that the customer's problem is not. Professionalism means managing your schedule, communicating properly, and honoring confirmed appointments. I will NEVER recommend this barber to anyone ever again. If you need someone dependable who respects your time and actually honors appointments booked weeks in advance, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.

Family Cuts -- A Two‑Generation Craft on FM 1960…read more Some places feed you with food; others feed you with familiarity. Family Cuts on FM 1960 does both in its own way -- not with plates or flame, but with scissors, quiet skill, and the kind of generational care you can feel the moment you sit down. It's a Vietnamese family‑owned shop that spans at least two generations, and you can sense that lineage in the air: the rhythm, the calm, the unspoken pride of a craft passed down, refined, and honored. I go to the mother -- long before I knew she was the owner, I gravitated toward her chair. Something about the older cosmetologists always felt right to me: the steadiness, the precision, the way they cut hair like they're reading a familiar language. And I was right. Her hands move with the confidence of someone who has shaped thousands of heads, each one a small testament to patience and skill. There's no rush, no theatrics, no upsell -- just the quiet excellence of someone who knows exactly what they're doing. In a world where a man can barely find a decent haircut under twenty dollars, this place feels like a small miracle. I go roughly once a month, and every time, the experience is the same in the best way: consistent, careful, and grounded. She doesn't just cut hair; she maintains you. She keeps you sharp without making it a luxury event. And yet, there's a luxury in the consistency -- in knowing you'll walk out looking exactly how you hoped, without having to explain it twice. There's a cultural lineage here too, even if it's not spoken aloud. Vietnamese barbers and cosmetologists have a long tradition of precision -- a blend of patience, technique, and quiet pride. You see it in the way she checks the fade, the way she cleans the neckline, the way she makes sure the cut sits naturally with your face. It's the same kind of craft you find in a kitchen: repetition, refinement, and a deep respect for the work itself. Family Cuts isn't a place you "discover." It's a place you return to. A place that becomes part of your routine, your upkeep, your sense of self. The chairs are simple, the décor is modest, and the atmosphere is honest. No frills, no ego -- just a family keeping a craft alive, one haircut at a time. And that's worth celebrating. Because quality doesn't always come wrapped in luxury. Sometimes it comes in the form of a mother with steady hands, a family with decades of experience, and a shop on FM 1960 that gives you exactly what you need every single time. Family Cuts is not just where I get my haircut. It's where I feel taken care of. Thank you Nancy.

Avoid KARINA BROWN!…read more Tardiness silently enrages this mean evil spirited woman. I was 10 mins late, called front desk/owner, and she said it's ok if next appointment cancels. I thought no problem excited to RETURN to Karina since she did a great job our 1st visit. Karina's next appt cancelled and she came out back with a mean grin and was very quite very guarded. Would not engage with my well behaved 24 month old at all. I tried to engage in polite small talk reminding her about our prior visit. The owner/front desk woman showed Karina on their computer his last haircut which she did. I specifically said, "I've been growing his hair out he only needs to trim one long piece in the back (I grabbed the long piece and showed her too) and taper it like last time." Karina frowning the entire time said ok and began shaving of high fading the side of his head. I didn't see as I was helping her hold my son's head still on the other side. She then grabbed the scissors and started chopping his back which was just at ponytail length. I said very calmly and politely, "why did you chop all back when I said one piece!" She said, "this is the last time I'm doing his hair SO WHAT!" I couldn't believe the harshness in her tone or understand what was the problem. My son was an angel no fuss! I was very pleasant too. It was too late my son's curls were gone I wanted to cry!!! After she stated it was her last time I tried to reassure her she was doing a good job so she wouldn't butcher my son's hair even more. She then tried to give him spiked sideburns! He didn't have that and I didn't ask. She was pissed when I said please no spikes. So after all that she said I have to finish the other side of his head. That is the video below where shaves it super short and uneven on purpose. Notice the unevenness of my son's hair. Notice the before photos. She was really mad I was late. I wish she would have charged me a late fee and not see my son at all. He didn't deserve that treatment he's an innocent little child. It was 2 weeks before his 2nd bday too. I read other similar reviews where did the same thing to another little boy with autism and maliciously chopped his hair uneven and made him jump after the mom said loud noises startle him. Anyway the front desk woman couldn't believe what she saw. She agreed that she completely ruined his hair. It took every fiber in me not to cuss out that evil bruja Karina! I called and demanded to speak with management, there is none. The front desk lady is the OWNER! She explained that she can't get rid of her because she's one of the few barbers left. She said everyone quits. The owner/front desk said she will talk to Karina but I doubt it. That woman walks around like she owns the place. Evil woman! I got a refund and will never be back!! Hope this helps parents to avoid Karina. Do not be late!!! Even if they say it's ok it enrages her! Retire ma'am! RECORD HER!
