Mom & I decided we were gonna try Giovanni's of South Williamson KY for pizza this evening…read more... I called once & got put on hold 2-3 minutes then they hung up. I figured no biggie, they're probably just busy. I called back, the guy yells "Hello??" in my ear as I'm saying I wanted to place an order for pickup, then he tells me to hang on a minute. I can hear laughing & talking in the background, then he asks for my phone # & takes my order. He says it'd be ready in 20-25 minutes & would come to $23-something.... We waited 25 minutes, then drove up to their drive thru to pick it up. The lady asks what name it was under, but they didn't ask for a name over the phone, so she asks for the last 4 of the phone #. After about 3-4 minutes of pretending to look, she says they don't have our order. Needless to say, McDonald's ended up being pretty good for dinner, .

With that being said, about being pizza aficionado and would only recommends if I truly finds them pleasing. Now Giovanni's in South Williamson, also in Pikeville, Logan, Pigeon Forge and many of other locations is disgusting at best. Giovanni's employees often overdo the sauces on pizzas, the recipe of their crust are very rough, hardly eatable and their choice of cheeses to serve on their pizzas are worst as I almost couldn't find any difference in between of their cheese and rubber. However they do have something on their menu that I somewhat find the pleasure to eat, although they aren't definitely the best out there and that would be their pizza turnovers. I would grade their pizza turnover an C- at best but it is eatable, only if you would at least eat once every month otherwise you can quickly get burnt out of their pizza turnovers.

Never thought I would have good pizza during a trip AWAY from NY but here we are…read more Firstly, I was very grateful to be in a place with restaurants after spending a night in Sutton. This seemed like a fun place to have dinner and it is very hard to fuck up a big beer selection and pizza. Not far at all from where we were staying across the gorge in Lansing and it was nice to have another excuse to go back into the most adorable town, Fayetteville. We were seated immediately at 5 on a Friday (we are old now). There is both a very comfortable indoor area and a perfect-for-this-weather outdoor patio. Service was good, prices were very reasonable. The pizza menu is out of this world. I can't say I have ever seen such creative and unusual pizza ideas. We wanted to try a classic and their elotes pizza. I saw another Mexican-themed version with black beans (for the plumbing) but it was a compromise with GF to get the elotes (her choice) WITH black beans (for the plumbing). We also ordered something healthy (and for the plumbing): their house salad: spring mix (which I typically despise), grape tomatoes, huge croutons chunks, grated cheese, pepperoncini. Two dressing choices: I can't ever pass on a nice vinaigrette. I was not aware that grated cheese, frank grated cheese, in a salad could be so good. The dressing was fantastic. The greens were crisp. The croutons were very good but not plentiful enough, and again the cheese. The pizzas were incredible. The classic really couldn't have been better. The crust was PERFECT thickness and balance of chewy and crispy. Sauce had a flavorful tang. Cheese was, again, cheese. The elotes pizza was also sensational. Who knew that could be such a good flavor combo? So fucking good. The toppings (corn, black beans, jalapeños, think I saw a scallion or two) fell all over the place and made holding the pizza difficult (probably my fault due to addition of black beans...for the plumbing) but it was totally worth it. We did have to flag the server down but service was pretty good otherwise. Everything came out within a very reasonable amont of time. We finished the leftovers literally by the time we went to bed that night.
