I was happy to see half of the store is furniture and the other half is tools, trinkets, toys, kitchen gadgets, media, and it escapes my mind if there were any clothing racks but if there were, it wasn't much. My kids were intrigued and slightly horrified at the amount of large vintage battery operated Mickey Mouse plushies. My daughter noted they each had a sticker with a number on it and since one said, "Mickey #10", there must have been at least 10 of them there at some point. 10 of the same creepy old doll... We didn't have room in our vehicle for any furniture so we just looked at the other goods. It was fun! The prices are higher than Goodwill on most things that I thought were junk but then there were yet other items that I thought were actually under-priced. I bought one overpriced tea pot, one under-priced vintage Pyrex lasagna pan (Friendship pattern), and a very rare Gumby item that I scooped up while yelling and then apologized for being loud cuz I was full on excited. The two employees on hand kinda laughed :) They were just standing behind the counter watching us shop, which was odd but whatever! I enjoyed shopping here! It's a very quiet town, I guess at this time of year (there's a big lake, and it's March), so shopping here was peaceful--very different from shopping at thrift stores in LA and OC.

She walked to the freezer and took out the ice block. I asked her "Are you going to wash your hands?" She said "I will have gloves on, but I'll wash them if you want me to". I said yes please because you were on your phone and who knows what's on your hands. That so gross that had I not asked her to wash her hands, she wouldn't have. She did wash her hands and put on gloves but she didn't put enough syrup. You can tell it was low on syrup. Will not be back.

It's a lot to take in and I can tell by the few racks I quickly perused that there were plenty of hidden treasures waiting for someone to find them. I did find my own treasures, though. I was shocked to find some gorgeous vintage lamps in working order for $9--not each but in total. Wow! We knew there would hardly be any room in our Forester driving home from our trip but we loved the lamps so we squished everything in there. I appreciate that staff leaves you alone and they accepted my debit card for payment. It was so quiet inside. No waiting in line either. They run a food pantry out of this place, too, and it seems they're always looking for volunteers. I'm glad a place like this exists. It was really fun to find such great items at nice prices. I hope they're still in business when I come back in the future!

Dwayne was always loved by all the high school kids as he served for years as the Sheriff Officer for the high school football games and other events. Dwayne was named Reserve Officer of the Year too many times to count, volunteering as many as 800 hours a year serving the community. He was also known for opening the store for spare parts when somebody would call during off hours and for letting customers just take small items like nuts and bolts rather than bothering with colleting a few cents per item. Dwayne and Sandy recently sold the store to the current owners but the Kirkham name lives on as the brand for the store. Good decision new owners! What a great place and testament to good old fashion values and service to community.
