I hired Paul's Painting to do a complete interior painting of a small, circa 1930's cottage, and was very pleased with the results. Their method of cutting sharp lines (using the blue tape and caulk) looks great, Paul's team made an excellent suggestion as to how best to cut in the older aluminum windows as they weren't exactly square, and sprayed the interior doors to like new condition. Best of all, they finished on time and within the agreed upon budget - painted the whole place top to bottom (including applying a sub-floor sealant) and didn't overlook a thing that I could find. They did an exhausting amount of prep work, which was absolutely necessary, and repaired trim along the way. Paul even had one side of the garage repainted as it was "flashing" due to being painted in the hot sun. It was repainted when the sun was well past the wall at 6:00 to 7:00 pm that night. This was not a good choice for me or my project. I had 2 interior accent walls that needed to be painted and some touch-ups where nail holes had been plastered, but not painted. Paul came by and spent a lot of time "selling" how great he was and said his crew could do the job in 1 day ($1100) which would be 3 - 4 guys for 9-10 hours. He then came back days later when I was ready to book it and said it would be 2 days, $2200. I asked why it went from being absolutely feasible to get it done in one day to now being 2 days. He said they would need two days to fill the nail holes with plaster and do multiple coats on the accent walls. I said no, I need it done in one day as I work from home and the disruption is just too much. The day they were supposed to be here, Monday, he canceled that morning because it had snowed the night before. (?) Then he was supposed to be here on Wednesday at 7am. At 8am, I texted him and he said he was on his way and his guys would be here soon. Long story short, the 2 accents walls got painted but I've had 2 people, in addition to myself, say they can see the old red paint bleeding through. And everywhere that they did the "touch-ups" I now have to repaint the ENTIRE wall. The sheen is not the same even though they went through about 3 different types to try and match it. What is weird is they waited until 4pm that afternoon to try and address it. There are paint drips up my front walkway on my stained concrete and even though Paul knew the job wasn't done well, he did not offer to fix it. He actually spent more time asking for me to post a positive review on YELP than address what was wrong with the current job. My walls look horrible. And now, I realize I really should have shopped around for a better price. Paul spent more time talking about his $100k truck and several other projects that I should have him do than he did about the job at hand. I ended up with a mess and now needing to repaint the entire interior of my house. AWESOME! read more
