I have built a home and renovated 3, and I have not worked with a painting company as good as Harmony. They painted my exterior that was both siding and brick. I did a white and black modern scheme, and neighbors walk by and comment how great it looks. Carlos was the project director and Sergio the crew leader, and both were a pleasure to work with. They answered my questions, were respectful of my property, and came back 2 days later for touch up. The job site was always clean. I am already getting a quote for the to paint my kitchen cabinets!

HOWEVER- I arrived at the final walkthrough at the scheduled time, and they were still not done clearing out their supplies. This was okay and I assumed more work would be done. When I returned to my home later that day I was appalled. There was brown liquid spilled on the cabinets and floors, paint spilled on the floors, stairs & countertops, outlet covers missing (still not found), painter's tape still stuck to the walls & baseboards, and sunflower seeds littered across EVERY single floor in the house (including the in the carpet and the bathtub). I am shocked at the way the house was left and how sloppy this was. This was not the condition that it was supposed to be left in. I had a showing the next morning so had to spend over 3 hours cleaning it. I contacted the manager about it and received a $275 discount. They did offer to come back over and "take care of these items" but I had no time to let them come back so I had to take care of it myself. For how much I paid to for this to be done I expected way more from this company. I will not be using this company again.

While Elk Horn was neither the least expensive nor the most expensive option, their representative, Grayson Elssworth, gave me the greatest confidence in the company. He was extremely knowledgeable about color palettes and helped my wife and me select the colors that ultimately transformed our home. Once our Homeowners Association approved the project, Elk Horn Painting was ready to begin. The crew was professional, courteous, and punctual throughout the entire process. They arrived within the scheduled time each day, always notified me when they arrived so I could bring my dogs inside, and immediately got to work. One thing I particularly appreciated was that the crew never appeared rushed. Instead, they took the time to ensure the job was done correctly. There were no paint drips on the sidewalks, porch, or other concrete surfaces, and they thoroughly cleaned up all masking materials when the project was completed. The trim lines were clean and straight, demonstrating excellent attention to detail. The crew also repaired siding on my storage shed that had pulled away from the frame, explaining that making such repairs is part of their standard operating procedure. As a result, the shed looks brand new. During the final walkthrough, the crew willingly addressed every item my wife and I identified, touching up anything we felt needed additional attention. The finished project looks outstanding. The siding, trim, doors, and shed all look superb, and the work was completed in a timely manner. Since the project was finished, several neighbors have stopped by to compliment the new paint and ask which company performed the work. I have been happy to recommend Elk Horn Painting and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, high-quality exterior painting company. Scott Murphy, Jefferson County Colorado

Josh who provided the initial estimate made good recommendation regarding paint sheen for the different surface types, and asked several questions about things I had not even thought of such as front and back colors for doors.. While we were only using three colors, due to the different sheens for concrete walls, wallboard, and door trim, we ended up with 7 different paints. Scheduling was easy and they helped accommodate our availability. When the painters came in to do the work they were friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to understand which paints were to be used where. They did an excellent job; multiple coats of paint for rooms that went from dark gray to a neutral taupe and caulked the floorboards where necessary and filled in scrapes and picture holes where we needed it. When the work crew returned the next day, I showed the owner of Golden Painting, Tony Moss, a couple areas on the house that needed considerably more prep work. Mr. Moss said they were planning to do more scraping, which made me wonder why they stopped working at 10:45 AM the day before. Then, I heard Mr. Moss telling his work crew foreman about shortcuts that could be taken to save time on the job. At that point, I lost confidence in the quality of job Golden Painting would do, so I told Mr. Moss to stop work and that I would pay him for the work that had already been done. Mr. Moss billed me at a rate of $60/hour for each of his three laborers, though the average hourly pay for a construction laborer in the Denver area was $17.96, and $19.48 for painters. Rounding up to three hours of work and $20 for painters, in total, Mr. Moss charged me $340 dollars more than is the average charge. Before Mr. Moss left my house, I pointed out that someone on his work crew had been overly aggressive while scraping and had put gouges in one of my wooden garage door jambs. I asked Mr. Moss to either repair the damage or pay for replacing the jamb (wooden post). Mr. Moss refused to pay for repairing the damage until I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Though I cannot recommend Golden Painting, I am sure there are other painting companies doing business that would be worst then Golden Painting; therefore, I gave Golden Painting a two star rating.

The second bid still had some details missing so I called the rep back to clarify some points. That was my first mistake, to think they would keep their word outside of what was written in their "contract " (in quotes because as a legal document, it is horribly written. First day of work comes around and they are obviously rushing the job. I let it slide because overall the crew seems competent, minus maybe the lead who answers every question with "that is not in the contract" for everything, including things obviously in the contract. The first error is painting a room the wrong color, "it's not in the contract!" Gabino says. Turns out it is. Day two and they are "done". I look around and they filled no holes and did zero sanding "It's not in the contract!" Gabino says. Turns out it is.. He calls a manager, gets told to do it and he himself comes back to fix it and give a second coat of paint on a room they completely missed. This second coat ends up looking worse than the first coat somehow as he tries to freehand the transition lines and messes it up badly, and still manages to completely miss one wall of the room they previously already missed. Obviously Gabino has better things to do than your job. Called manager and they come out to acknowledge this is their responsibility and then radio silence for a week. Finally the owner/"Chief Promise Keeper" calls me back condescending and not taking any responsibility for the botched job. I haven't mentioned yet how they did not use the paint grade that was agreed upon verbally multiple times. His resolution is "that sucks, these things happen". When somebody tells you who they are, believe them the first time. If you have to tell people you are a promise keeper, it's more than likely because you in fact are not. Steer clear and look elsewhere. Plenty of other quality painters out there to choose from. The owner also tried to bribe me not to write a review in exchange for them fixing their mistakes.
