Overall, I'm pleased with my experience with J&J Painting. My biggest qualm is the change in pricing when they started our exterior house painting project. They upcharged us $125 to paint our garage and front doors white (same color as the trim) instead of grey like the rest of the house. I'm extremely annoyed because I definitely told the owner that I wanted those doors white from the day he came to give us the quote, as well as in my email stating the colors we chose 2.5 weeks before the project start date. No one said anything then. And there was no communication when they realized they would be late in starting our project because the owner's son was born a few weeks prior. I was VERY understanding and flexible with all of this, so I really don't appreciate the last minute upcharge. They also didn't replace one of the siding boards on our chimney despite it being on our quote, so I had requested a picture of the crack between the two boards, but I didn't receive that. Just assurances that they caulked between them. So hopefully, it's sealed and we won't get more leaks in our chimney this winter. Fingers crossed! Other than that, it looks like they did a good job. And the guys who actually worked on our house were hard working and friendly. read more

Overall, the team at J&J did a good job and work looked nice. I had them paint most of the interior walls and two inside stairways at my Denver townhome which was being vacated by my adult daughter (who was leaving Denver for residency after graduating medical school) prior to new renters arriving. All quotes were communicated to multiple bidders the same to all by my daughter in person. Painting was done while no occupants were there and 95% empty of all furnishings. Of four quotes, J&J was marginally lowest, but the quote descriptions were minimal relative to other bidders. The job was scheduled and executed efficiently. However, Job missed the instructions to repaint all the baseboards white (including those on a couple walls that were not to be painted). He also missed the instructions to repaint the basement metal fireplace hood. Although I feel this was his mistake in the quoting process, he would not include this requested work in his original price and charged me extra fees. I arrived to inspect the job 6 days after it was done and had to spend a couple hours cleaning up from the paint job. I found multiple places with tape and paint splatter, and there were two blinds/window shades that were left on the counter in the kitchen that had paint on them. The kitchen sink had multiple paint stains. There were multiple lights left on for 6 days in the vacant home since someone from the crew didn't turn them off. After the work, I paid the bill via Zelle daily (max transfer) until just $77 remained which I held back until I arrived to inspect the work. After seeing the multiple items listed above, I requested he waive the $77, and his response was "the price is firm". I think this was very short-sighted from a customer satisfaction perspective due to the issues described. read more

If you need something painted, call these guys immediately. We had a bad experience with another painter so we started checking out other options on Yelp. I initially scheduled an estimate with about 5 different painters and Job from J&J was by far the most prompt, courteous and professional person I spoke too. We needed our house painted along with a few minor repairs to some rot in our wood siding. Job's estimate was more than fair. We scheduled the job immediately. They were scheduling about a month out which was fine with us. That date got pushed back a little because of the terrible weather in the area but Job did a great job of keeping us up to date throughout the whole process. This week Job called and said he would be able to paint our house. He expected it to last the entire week with Monday to wash, Tuesday to prep, Wednesday to paint the siding and Thursday to paint the trims. He even snuck a special interior side project into his schedule for us on Friday. Everything looks great. Their attention to detail is spectacular.
