During my recent move…read morewith West Canada Movers Inc., several pieces of my furniture were delivered with visible damage. The damage includes chipped edges, dents, and surface scratches as shown in the attached photos. One of the furniture also completely destroyed and unable to use it anymore. According to our signed contract, the movers were supposed to protect all furniture with moving blankets to prevent such damage.Also, they told us they will be wrapped with blankets in their depot but it did not happen. They delivered our furnitures from Toronto to Edmonton without proper protections and blankets. As evident from the delivery condition, my furniture was only wrapped in bubble wrap or plastic film BY MYSELF in some cases, and in others, the corners and edges were left inadequately protected. No thick moving blankets were used as stated in the agreement. If I wasn't wrap myself, all of my furnitures would be useless. They also told us that they will inform us about damages however they never contacted with us. This company is not applying measures as they said. Proper blanket wrapping is a key protective measure for preventing impact and abrasion damage during transportation. The lack of such coverage directly led to the damages sustained.

To start I had hired them 2 months in advance because when I had called they said if you reserve…read morenow our price is 160/hr as it would be going up in the summer. Well then the war happened, the price was raised to 185/hr due to the war. They were suppose to show up at 9 am, I get a phone call at 9;15 saying that their truck won't start. Then get a second phone call from the dispatcher saying they are not coming at all and we would have to reschedule because they could not book a uhaul due to none being available. (I went on the site and there were some available in the area.) I also had carpet cleaners coming the next day so said that had to come that morning. They they told be they will only come if I pay for the uhaul rental. If I did not they would have had to cancel the move. That cost an additional 300 dollars. then they said they could send a 3rd person for and extra 45 an hour. I declined that as I should not have to pick up for their equipment failing. when they showed up the next day I was talking to one of the movers, they said that they just got off nightshift hadn't slept and then needed to go back for a night shift that night. Also brought his son who looked younger. Not only did they show up tired but unprepared. I had to now supply the uhaul and ratchet straps so that they could move my furniture as they had none! They left the house before me once confirming the next address. I left 10 minutes later and showed up before them. They were at least 30 minutes behind me. They also do not unload your stuff until payment is made. some of my stuff was damaged due to them not having the proper equipment. I submitted a complaint about having to pay for the uhaul since i had no other option and there was no way i could get other movers in that short of time. Dealing with customer service has been awful! said they woudl refund me only half of the rental and then blamed me for agreeing under extreme amounts of stress and worries of not having movers at all! I am not getting any responses from them now and have not received any refund. DO NOT HIRE THEM! what should have been a 1200 dollar bill ended up being just short of 2000 dollars!
