After wash it was found I had chips and scratches and even a dent on vehicle. Was asked to return and fill out paperwork. BEWARE.....!!!! After reporting I was called today and told sorry tough luck. This place is the worst carwash ever. I have a Honda CRV, the back NEVER gets cleaned. Just took it in after a week up north on gravel roads, only got about 60% of the dirt off. Went to get my car washed at Paul's today and was disappointed in the service. They have two employees working to prep your car before it goes through the wash. Instead of hitting the areas they know don't get washed well (tailgates), they just half heartedly spray the car off and the guy with the brush did single swipe of my tailgate but only across half the vehicle as it was rolling into the wash. Lazy, lazy, lazy! It's no ce to get home and have to clean my tailgate myself. Hope the owners know that people talk about that kind of service and with a better wash just around the corner, I won't be back. read more

I have been going here exclusively for a LONG time...at least five years. The manager, Ronald, is so nice and I would bet that his attitude rubs off on the rest of the staff. I am not sure what all the hate on Paul's is about. I have been coming here for years and did not have any issues. I wouldn't say it is the best car wash, but it does its purpose. I have an older car, so I don't come thru a lot. I do come thru more in the winter because of all the salt that gets all over the vehicle. It is reasonably priced. I saw someone complain about not having people towel off their vehicle, but today's market is hard to find people, so I get it. It would be nice to have it toweled dry, but the blower does an excellent job of getting it dry. read more

You would be better served to just pull out the garden hose and spray your car. I paid for the cheapest wash they had, $9. Maybe that was my mistake, but I didn't feel like spending $17 for one of their premium washes. My car wasn't that dirty. You pull up, the young gentlemen standing there spray your car with a hose and then send you on your way. I knew as I was going through the wash that absolutely no soap was being dripped onto my car. The water pressure was low and since there wasn't any soap on my car, nothing was getting cleaned. I was left with a spotty, and still dirty, car. Absolute waste of money. I'm not gonna cry over nine bucks; I'm just never going to return. Plenty of car washes in the area. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

I went to the car wash to wash my car, an immaculate 2006 BMW 750 LI , on Friday, December 15 at around 4 PM . I've been here many times before since I have a membership. On 12/15/23 I met Oscar, an attendant, before I went through the car wash. There was a long line of cars going through. That's another thing, they packed vehicles in, we were bumper to bumper. He made sure I was going to get the special wash I'm supposed to get, Fire and Ice. I waited for my turn and went through and at the very beginning at the tire wash, roller brush area, I could hear scraping noises going on. After the car wash, I pulled to the side to dry my car off since lately it hasn't been drying the water off. That's when I noticed the rocker panels on both sides of my car were scraped up, equally on both sides. I went inside and saw Oscar and his supervisor Ron and told them about it. Ron came out took pictures. He asked me where I thought it happened. Again, I told him I thought it happened at the spot where it cleans your tires, the rollers, near the beginning and that I could hear a scraping. I also had a problem 2 weeks prior with the machine scraping up my rims. We went back inside and he filled out a report. He then started off saying we don't cover damage to cars over seven years old, and I said mine is in perfect condition. I take great care of my BMW, it's in immaculate condition. He said that doesn't matter. It's over seven years old you're not gonna like it, I said I take great care of that car and again it is in immaculate condition, you guys should cover it. I bring it in to be washed all the time. Then he said he would call me back on Sunday, he had to talk to his boss to see about covering it. He never did call back Sunday. Update:when they left a message Oscar said he reviewed pictures and says I had prior damage, which is false. I took my car to B&B Collision in Royal Oak for an estimate. The repair estimate I got is for $839.96 I expect them to pay. Read my Google Review for an update. Stay away from this place, they don't care if they damage your car, they won't answer the phones when you call them about damage. Paul's used to be the best car wash in town but they eliminated their towel dry service. The dryer machine doesn't even work unless you buy the top tier wash. In addition, the unlimited wash subscription is really one wash per day. Even when their attendant and system wouldn't remove the bugs from the front end of my car. read more

This place is a mess. I live across the street in clawson and have been a loyal member for years. As we have multiple cars we would pay for a membership for each and keep the RFID sticker on a card to scan (to avoid putting this ugly blue sticker in the middle of our windshield..). 1) original manager said no issue at all 2) next time I lost my card and asked for a new sticker manager sean said it needed to be on window but would make an exception since I'm paying for multiple memberships. 3) one month later I had lost the card and asked for a replacement and again was told it needed to go on on the window and they were okay with me canceling. so much back and forth over a sticker... and they ultimately ended up losing 2 memberships over it. Sean... bad business over a sticker policy lol.. Also the wash quality was deteriorated over the last few years, half the time the car comes out still dirty around the Mirrors. not worth the price... and definitely not worth the hassle over a sticker location policy. my neighbor recently cancelled as well when he got a new car due to having to put this blue sticker in the window. jax on 15 mile is much more accommodating. save your time and money. read more

I'm done with Paul's Auto Wash in both their Clawson and Troy location. I was once a regular when they had human dryers at the end. after that ended, I brought my own towels and did it myself after exiting the wash. little by little I observed spots not washed which began to bother me. Then they raised their prices and the machines no longer accept cash. WHAT? WHY? I visited less frequently and used them in a pinch. one day I used the Troy wash since it's near my home and need a clean car while traveling in that direction. I discovered they raised their prices again. I paid it, went through the wash and went about my day. When I arrived home, I discovered the rear of my car wasn't even touched. it still had the dirty grime that was on before I went through. I decided that's it. I'm done with them. They went downhill fast. I think they raised their prices because they are losing business. regardless, I'll go elsewhere or do it myself before going the Paul's. read more

I have no clue why people are griping about the lack of humans hand drying their car. It should be obvious to a casual observer driving by that there are no people hand drying cars. If you didn't pay attention before you pulled in, that's on you. Paul's is fantastic. You drive up to the machine, tell it what sort of car wash you want, slide your credit card, and follow directions. No muss, no fuss, no bother. The (usually dudes) hose your car off at the beginning, and after that it's all automated. The blower blow drying the car dry at the end is FIERCE. I would say may car is 97% dry when I pull away. And the machine is even polite enough to tell you when to drive away. So, if you want a good automatic car wash with a minimum of hassle, Paul's is your place. read more

After going here for about a year, I've cancelled due to terrible customer service. Went there on 2/28 on a beautiful Sunday and they were randomly closed for no reason. I called them the next day to get some info and the "manager" said he was too busy to talk and hung up on me. I then went onto their website to contact someone who values community and customer centric service and their response was "we occasionally close due to inclement weather, which was not the case as it was out first day and 60 degrees out. horrible customer service. the wash was not working properly on 30 Apr 2024. We sustained severe damage to our vehicle that the attendant acknowledged they were having problems with wash that day. it kept stopping and starting while vehicles are inside. it stopped 3 times while we were in it. when it started up the 3rd time the blower was so STRONG and with the cloths laying on top of the vehicle, they got caught and broke off a part and that broken part was being dragged along the vesicle causing damage to the hood and side. we've had 2 vehicles with them for over 15 years and on their best monthly plan since it started. the attendant took the report and said someone would call and they never did. when I went in they denied and problems and said the car was over 7 Years old so there is nothing they would do! it has nothing to do with the age of the vehicle. it had everything to do with poorly maintained equipment. read more

Not a great wash. You pay for a $12 or $17 dollar wash and tire shine and get a short feature wash. This has happened more than once.

Something mechanically was then changed in their machinery where on 3 consecutive washes I heard their machinery hit my rim on my car and damage the finish on my rim. I contacted management and they told me tough luck and that they did not want me as a customer any longer when I complained. Horrible management and customer service! read more

When I first went to this car wash years ago, the owner was trying to get people to sign up for the monthly subscription and he was so friendly. So I always spoke highly of this car wash to my friends and visited there when I was close. But the last time I went through the car wash, my passenger side mirror was torn off. When I approached the office to ask the manager to retrieve my mirror, I was immediately yelled at. I informed the guy that I needed my mirror and he angrily went and retrieved it, again yelling as he came back with my mirror because I walked into the office. I told him I wanted to fill out an incident report and he told me he was calling the police. He then pretended to call the Police Department as I stood there still refusing me the incident report. Moments later, he handed me the report and hung up the phone. He never actually called them. Needless to say, after contacting the company multiple times and the registered agent, I have yet to have a civilized conversation with anyone. The general manager David Respond does not enjoy having conversations and will cut you off if you challenge him - repeatedly. Also, the registered agent, Gilbert Rietsch, Jr in Auburn Hills, owner of Peco Auto Wash refuses to take my calls. Both of these companies are completely unprofessional and everybody needs to know they could care less about their constituents. read more

I like both of their locations, but there's nobody towel drying at this one So I always have to pull around the corner into the Rite Aid parking lot and towel dry the rest of the water off myself. The one on Livernois has towel dryers and they have a sign that tells you not to tip them... So I never feel bad about not tipping them because I am paying a monthly fee for the service anyway. If you are the sort who spends hours hand-washing your car every weekend, carefully buffing every square millimeter of chrome until it shines like the noonday sun... Paul's is probably not for you. Alternately, if you just want the cheapest wash possible and prefer to get your car washed for $2 in the scary 20 foot long tunnel attached to your local gas station... Paul's is probably not for you. But as far as automatic car washes go, Paul's is easily the best in the area as far as I am concerned. My car always comes out spotless and unscratched. And as of right now it's only $5.50 for a regular wash, not bad at all. When it comes to paying, you can either pay a live attendant (left lane) or use a self-pay station (right lanes) if you're not feeling particularly social. Plus as a bonus on the way in they have a number of strong-suction DIY vacuum hoses for only $0.50 per charge, and a single charge will fully vacuum all but the very dirtiest of standard-sized cars. The only thing I don't love about Paul's is that it can be a bit tricky to make a left onto 14-Mile on your way out of the wash, particularly during heavy traffic. And the pressure is on, you only have a short amount of time to turn before the person behind you finishes their wash and also needs to pull into the driveway. A great solution is to make a right onto 14-Mile and then an immediate left into Del Taco. Pick up something yummy from the drive-thru (or don't) and then make a right out of Del Taco back onto 14 Mile. Voila! Left turn achieved, car clean, and belly full. read more

I'm a little bummed that Paul's updated their car wash and got rid of the staff that dries by hand. I leave with a wet car every time. I like the treat of personal attention to wash and towel dry. Particular in the freezing winter months when u have neither the space nor desire to wash my car myself at home. The employees here are super friendly and attentive. I've never had to wait for an attendant. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, is because the last time I had my car washed here, my car had been covered in dirty snow and ice. I purchased the second-highest wash, only to find there was a row of dirty ice around the entire perimeter of the car. Whah?? That's what I came in to have washed off!! It was a weird experience, particularly because my car is usually sparkling when I leave here. Other than that one experience, I would recommend here. I disagree with the last poster's however I will concede I understand their complaints IF you want a towel dry. I sure as hell don't! Powerful jets, super strong touchless dry so no scratches. The brushes in the wash are soft: almost looking like microfiber drying brushes. I pull over in the parking lot ajar of the wash, take my own clean microfiber cloth and spend 5 min to 20 minutes drying my car depending on how clean it needs to be. 17 BMW X5M owner happy for what you get with 20 dollars a month of washing. Jax is much rougher inside and uses harsh chemicals. They dry but it usually isn't for the better. read more

So the employees working on Monday 6 15 2020 at about noonish to 1 PM very rude. Employee with nasty looking beard was the worst of the attitudes. Was worried about finishing up with his phone than guiding me through. Remember this is my very 1st visit to Paul's. He looked so angry at me through my windows it seemed he wanted to take the spray wand and whack my car with it. I cannot ever come back out of fear. Who would of thunk a car wash could be so mad. Amazing how a company like Paul's auto wash (Clawson) was a Platinum 5 star company for 25 years to overnight not even worthy of One Gold Star. Just horrible since they replaced their systems to new equipment in the fall. Not to mention displaced workers to dry off vehicles and rely 100% to blowers.. Long time customer. Just came back for re-opening. Looks like they had all new equipment installed. No more staff hand drying. I paid $10, car was clean but not dryed as well as when staff was there. Higher prices should mean better result. Not a belle ever yet. Will try again. read more
