I opted for the strawberry soup-served cold, salad, baked potato, and chicken tenders. All meals come with a warm cinnamon sugar fritter before the meal. The strawberry soup, was amazing and perfect for a June evening! They also bring a basket of fresh baked bread and muffins with the soup which were delicious. On the way out, we ran into gridlock as there was another customer trying to get up the steps and into the building with another walker and there wasn't any room for anyone to make room for either walker! I thought it was a little fishy and could have used more seasoning, but it was perfect for him. I had the haddock sandwich, and it was delicious, exactly what a fish sandwich should be. We also loved Wendt's house tartar sauce, and that it's served in squeeze tubes, but the real star of our meal was the cheesy seafood chowder. Good grief, it was outstanding. After more than 60 years, it's easy to see why Wendt's is still going strong. They take pride in what they do, and it shows.
