I came back to Dr. Hinder for my bi-annual cleaning. Everyone at the front desk was pleasant and nice. I got checked in quickly and efficiently. I was taken back after about waiting 5 minutes by Suzanne my hygienist. I had to also have x-rays done. Suzanne did a great job at my cleaning, explaining what she was doing, and always kept the conversation flowing. I had my cleaning done, then dr. Hinder came in to look at my x-rays. He said everything looked fine, there was just one tooth they're monitoring. All in all, it was a great experience. read more

My experience was not the same after Dr. Hinder sold this business. These people are young and Green I went in to have a crown fixed, but they didn't know how to use the machine. I scheduled the next day because they were having app specialist on machine show up to tell them how to use the machine. Everything seemed to work out after two hours. I was out of there, but they were having a picnic in the background six or seven people were looking in my mouth. There was noise all around all the time which was not previously the experience I had had there which was peace and quiet and calm people were overly compensating, which made me very uncomfortable. Main doctor seemed to be irritated although they got the job done. It wasn't done to the expectations that Hinder would had taken not pleased will not be visiting again. RUUUNN AWAY! I went in for a normal cleaning and then they said I needed a deep cleaning that I had previously had just a year ago. The hygienist said they did a terrible job and that's why I needed another. He tried to sell me on trays for my teeth and antibiotics that were unnecessary, at a price of over $1400. I loved Dr. Hinder but he no longer practices and would never allow this. I was a loyal client for 10 years and I would drive an hour just to go here. Do not go there unless you want to be scammed into paying for something you do not need. read more

They took over for an amazing dental team and I feel the new team is just a money grab for the existing customers. We have been going to the same dental team for at least 15 years and it was replaced by this new team. First visit with the new team and I need a $1,500+ "deep cleaning". My wife's first visit, she needs a $2,000+ "deep cleaning". Then we see our neighbors experiences were similar. I feel you should get to know the patient first, do the cleaning they were expecting and then maybe schedule something more intense at a future, planned visit. However, to take a bunch of x-rays and then ask the patient to sign some papers is not the way to do business. When my wife asked for just the regular cleaning and to schedule anything else, the guy refused to just do what the appointment was scheduled for. and insisted he had to do the deep cleaning. Actually made it seem illegal if he didn't. I was also supposed to have a follow-up after the deep cleaning. I called and reminded them twice plus went to the office and they never scheduled the follow-up. We were also told we would get a refund because they were unable to get "trays" that they said my wife needed and instead of a refund, we got a bill. Nope...won't be paying that! read more

This place is absolutely horrible! They are pushing the Perio Protect on every patient. They are overcharging for services not provided. The two dentist who were hired when Dr. Hinder retired have already quit, that's telling in and of itself! And they are erasing/hiding one star reviews. The only reason they are a 3.1 star is the old reviews from when Dr. Hinder owned it. Do yourself a favor and find a new dentist. A total scam. Dr. Hinder has been my dentist for years. He sold the practice to this chain.I went for a routine cleaning but was told I had serious issues with the bone deterioration and infection in my molars. I had always been told what great shape my teeth and gums were in. The hygienist never cleaned my teeth. Insisted on expensive xrays and a deep clean and trays for my teeth with a medication. A cost of well over $1,000. I went to a periodontist because I felt like I had been scammed. He confirmed that I had no issues and did not need the deep clean or the tray and medication. Check yelp and you will see all the people who they have scammed. read more

DO NOT GO HERE !!!!!! Dr. Paul Hinder used to own this location and he retired the end of 2025. Unfortunately he didn't tell his patients he was retiring. The office staff did. I don't know what happened there. Dr. Hinder was a great dentist but Dr. Scarlett that works here now is a scam artist and my friend went in there and they told her she had gum disease and needed all this work. She found out later she didn't need anything. She had no issues. She didn't have any symptoms of gum disease either so they totally lied to her. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! read more

Dental practice was sold to a corporate entity. I was a loyal patient for over 10 years before the sale. Have been very diligent with my dental care over this time; however, the new care team thinks I now need a deep cleaning and more x-rays for a start with only a very uncomfortable probe of my gums by the hygienist. I was immediately put off by the loud and chaotic office and then I got the immediate upsale of the scaling and deep cleaning. No, thank you. Such a shame. It used to be a very comfortable and comforting place for dental care. Do better! read more

1. The pictures on this site are from Dr. Hinder not the current dentist or staff. 2. My experience was awful and I walked out not receiving any services. I was told I needed a deep cleaning before anything else. I did not come in for deep cleaning and was not told the price until a treatment plan was established. I asked to see the dentist and he would not come in, not even the courtesy of an introduction. This practice was taken over from Dr Hinder and the Entire staff is new. The hygienist was not in scrubs or professional attire, just street clothes. I was told a regular cleaning that I came in for was not possible since I had "disease". I have no dental issues and gums are not inflamed, puffy, bleeding or sore. This does not appear to be a professionally run practice and I question their methods. Look carefully at the dates of the reviews and be sure you are reading current ones and not Dr. Hinder reviews. It appears that my experience is repeated with other patients. I absolutely do not recommend this practice, there are plenty of reputable dentists in the area. read more

This is not the same clinic as Dr.Paul Hinder it was bought out by a corporation if you are considering getting dental care here and looking at reviews, make sure you look at when the review is. All of the recent reviews reflect my experience. This is the worst dentist experience I've ever had. First off, I was quoted for a crown and told that the procedure was covered partially by my insurance, when leaving my appointment they asked me to pay FAR more than the quoted price. The woman at the front desk told me it must be an issue and I paid my quoted amount then left. Then I get a bill in the mail for the extra amount. Turns out the specific crown procedure was not covered in any way by my insurance. When I brought this to their attention (which took about a month because of gross disorganization) they were unsympathetic and told me there's nothing they could do. So, I decided to request the records of the treatment plan and receipt to challenge the claim and, again, it was like pulling teeth trying to get those (ha get it). I understand that you should check with insurance but the staff assured me many times that the price on that paper (the treatment plan) was what I was paying and I thought Dr. Hinders office was a reputable organization so unfortunately I believed them. On top of that, the entire time I was there they were handing me pamphlets for treatments and things that were not covered by insurance and the whole experience honestly felt like a money grab scam. Lastly, as far as the care goes, the crown that my insurance didn't cover feels awful and when I brought it up to the doctor wanting to get it adjusted he just said to give it time it'll be fine. Now it's over a month later still not fine need to find a new dentist if anybody has suggestions please let me know. read more

Nope, this practice is fully owned and run by a dental group corporation. Their focus is on cutting cost, upselling to patients and over-scheduling. No-one is left from Dr Hinder's time. I think there are a few good new employees including one of the new dentist, Dr C, his PA, the 2 women at the front desk, but they are caught up in the way the dental group tightly manages and controls the practice where the patient is simply a number and a dollar sign. Given my experience the "new" patient experience is poor and unacceptable. The focus appears to be on profit over patient care by using a different quality of materials, than Dr Hinder used, and allocating less time, per patient, by scheduling more patients at one time vs 2 patients, that Dr hinder scheduled. The standard of care, set bu the dental group management, is less than I will accept. There are still Dentist -owned practices, find one, and avoid this place. read more

Terrible! This is now Jax Pier Dental Studio. I chose this place several years ago because Dr. Hinder was a very gentle dentist. The atmosphere was relaxing, the cleanings didn't hurt and he was honest . This is no longer the case. The practice was sold to a new dentist. I waited 1.5 hrs in the waiting room for my appointment and the environment was so loud and hectic. Since they were running behind, they rushed through my x rays like I was in an assembly line. No bedside manner, no questions at all, just said, you need x rays. The cleaning hurt so much I was crying, even after I told her that I am very sensitive. Then the dentist came in for the final check and they are telling me I have cavities. That's when I knew this is just another scammy practice. I haven't had a cavity in my life and the only time I am told I have cavities is when I run into a scam my dental practice. They tried to sell me something to "prevent the cavities from progressing". After the appointment, I sent an email with my concerns and never heard back. I am never coming back. read more

I've been going to Doctor Hinder for longer than I can count. Jess, is the best dental hygienist I've seen in my entire life! Everyone in the office is polite, professional, very, very, very kind, and just overall amazing. When I am seen, I am treated like the only patient in the universe, I am given time to ask questions, everything is explained to me thoroughly, and I know that if a procedure is recommended, it's because it's required, not because of some thing frilly. If you are looking for a dentist, and an office, that cares literally cares about you as a person, your overall health, and your dental health, this is where you should be!! read more

I think this is the end of my 2nd year with Dr Hinder. He came highly recommended to me from friends here in JAX since we had moved from Ohio about 6 years ago and never established a dentist. The first visit 2 years ago was a lot of cleaning since it had been awhile since i had a cleaning but i take good care of my teeth so not much more than xrays and a in depth cleaning. Now I am back on my every 6mo schedule. Each room has a TV playing a show for you to watch while the hygienist works on you, everything is light and bright and professional. Its also nice since if you look out the giant window in the procedure room you can see the ocean! On first visit they completed this super cool 3D xray i have never had done before. Dr Hinder is very funny when he came in to chat with me the first time. Seems like I have the same hygienist each time which works out b/c I like her approach. They seem to be pretty booked up since it took me awhile to get my first appointment but now book out my 6mo cleaning when finish a cleaning. They do some reminder text and emails to confirm the appointment. Highly recommend Dr Hinder and his team! read more

For 11 years I have been coming for dental cleaning to Dr. Hinder. Always has been a good experience but today was very different. I had X-rays done 2 years and 2 months ago and when I arrived for a routine cleaning, I was told I had to have X-rays done before a cleaning could happen. The total cost of the X-rays was $427. I have paid out of pocket for 11 years as my insurance does not cover dental. I was not given any advance notice of this even though I had booked the appointment well in advance. When I declined the X-rays (I have zero dental problems nor a family history of problems and it was barely over the 2 year mark) I was told by the dental hygienist I had to have new X-rays done and it was the law. When I declined again and also offered to sign a waiver to not hold them responsible for my choice to decline X-rays, I was told that was not an option as it was a legal requirement. When I questioned whether that was true (I have never heard this in my entire life) things began to get challenging. Dr. Hinder joined the conversation saying the same thing. When I asked if they had access to any legal documentation that I could see I was told to Google it, which I tried to do, while they continued to defensively tell me it was a legal requirement. Finally the front desk lady (who was quite nice) brought out a piece of paper with a lot of legal wording which had absolutely nothing about a legal requirement of X-rays on it anywhere. When I pointed this out, Dr. Hinder walked away, saying nothing. The dental hygienist was long gone, telling me she was very offended and that I had called her a liar. Which I never did, but I did have concerns that I was being told something that wasn't correct. The front desk lady proceeded to say it was the clinic's policy of requiring x-rays every 2 years and when I politely (I was really trying to not create trouble) said I had been asking if that was the case for 10 minutes but had been told it was a legal requirement, she apologized for the "mistake" and asked me if I wanted to reschedule. Suffice it to say I did not. Be advised that X-rays are not legally required. It is a dentist's prerogative to run their office as they see fit, but to deceive people to the tune of telling them X-rays are legally required while having no legal documentation to confirm that and increase the bill by a cool $427 - it's troubling. I'm not sure it's even legal to incorrectly claim that X-rays are legally required- it seems very problematic to tell trusting clients something is legally required when it is not. There are a lot of dentists in JAX. If you choose this one, I'm sure you will get decent care- but my trust is gone for good. I'll be finding a new dentist. read more

My favorite dentist! My whole family comes here and we have always had a great experience. The office is very peaceful and pleasant with great front desk staff. They're always cheerful, helpful and prompt. They are very diligent about confirming appointments, but I enjoy that because that means they can usually get you in off the cancellation list. Dr Hinder is great! He's super nice, to the point, does great work and never pushes anything on you. I trust him 100% with anything he recommends. Best dentist at the beaches. read more

I was in a restaurant and it was noisy so I thought I misheard the price. The next day I called from home where it was quiet and was quoted "about $500." That price is outrageous! I went here for the first time because I wasn't happy with my previous dentist and they have 7:00am appointment. The office was extremely clean and it was almost like a vacation home, not a dental office. The staff was was really friendly and seems genuinely happy even such early in the morning. I didn't see the regular dentist because he was sick but the substitute dentist was really knowledgeable and informative. I will definitely come back! read more

Terrible that I have to give this review, but everyone should be on notice. I was out of the country on vacation, without cellular service, and when I was able to receive texts.. I had several texts trying to confirm my appointment. I made this appointment because it fits into my schedule so I knew I would make it. Then I started getting nasty texts saying they were going to cancel if I didn't respond by a given date. I texted saying this was bull and I didn't want anymore threatening to cancel texts and I also wanted an apology. I have never missed or been late for an appointment. They sent yet another text saying since our relationship was tarnished they canceled my appointment and will forward my records.. In other words.. We don't need you... Very sad that you would treat a customer in such a manner.. It's all about the inpersonal way you text your patients. and by the way on time I arrived for my appointment and waited over an hour because they had someone arrive very late.. I've had general cleanings and a filling repaired (I think it was a bridge - more involved than a generic filling). The staff is gentle while doing cleanings and other work. Professional and on time. Everyone I've dealt with in the office is polite and easy to talk to. Prices seem comparable to other dentists I've worked with. I like that I'm not pushed to purchase products and other services. Occasionally, recommendations are made and never feel like I'm being sold. Helpful in getting appointments scheduled. Plenty of parking connected to the building. Building is on second floor, though not first. I will continue to go here. Highly recommend! read more

Paul Hinder and his staff are the best!! Caring and pro-active with dental health. State of the art equipment for x-rays, crowns, restorations and fillings. Bonus is HGTV on the ceiling to watch as you are having procedures. A beach-themed office that enhances a healthy and peaceful experience.
