The differentiator for us was that Stu was the only contractor who pointed out concerns that nobody else did, that would have been missed or would have become change orders which I hate. Being that my husband is a mechanical contractor , he is very aware of a lot of the tricks of the trade. Stu also is quite creative and my wife and Stu made some additional improvements which have had a great impact on the value of our cottage. We were very comfortable with Stu and his AMS team that we left him full access to our cottage. For us communication is key and Stu readily responds to his phone, texts and emails. At times I am a bit pushy, well more then pushy , and I did appreciate Stu's tolerance. Stu is not a yes man, and was not afraid to challenge me at times, in a polite manner of course and I found this very helpful to ensure the right work was performed. Finally, Stu was integral in the 9/11 evacuation , read his website, that hit home for me, as I lost many associates and two employees that fateful day. Stu gets 5 donuts out of 5 from my husband. From me i guess it would 5 out of 5 carrots! I stole that from Mike Golic on MIke and Mike of ESPN. Well Done Stu and the AMS team! The second floor hopefully we will add in a year or so Stu so get ready. :)

But unfortunately I never got the estimate this owner claims. I did actually call and I was told "we're working on it and will have the estimate to you within the next week" - this was 2 weeks after the estimate was supposed to be emailed to me. Fortunately I did find wonderful contractors who did actually come to my house twice, once for the initial consultation and once more to double check the ascetics before finalizing the estimate- this other company I ended up hiring and was very happy. The job was $47,000 and this other company did a beautiful job.

We hired them to open up the first floor of our Cape Cod, and they completely helped me re-imagine the space taking down several walls to create a true open-concept layout. Along the way they installed new hardwood floors across the entire first floor, redid our shower, replaced both toilets, moved our washer and dryer, and prepped all the groundwork for our kitchen renovation. The craftsmanship throughout was outstanding. The part that really earned our trust is they delivered on what they promised AND THEN SOME! They finished within the estimate they quoted, and they were remarkably fast and efficient without ever cutting corners. Glen and his crew went above and beyond at every turn. His entire team was helpful, friendly, and easy to work with from the first day to the last. I would name them all here because I've gotten to know them personally, but I'll let you experience it first hand!
