Really depends on who you end up as your hair stylist. For those who do not know, there are two kinds of hair stylists: a Phase 1 ($12) and and a Phase 2 hair stylist ($17). The difference is in the number of hours the stylist has put in and how much instructor supervision is required.I had a Phase 2 hair stylist, which means that they are almost done with the program and are require less instructor supervision. My hair stylist was nice, but seemed unsure of how to handle my hair (wavy, dry, poofy). She ended up taking 2 1/2 hours to shampoo, condition, massage my scalp, cut my hair, and blow dry. It took so long that she had to keep spraying my hair since it kept drying out. I didn't notice until I returned back home that my haircut was noticeably uneven and overall looked weighty at the ends. The nice part is that you can schedule to have your hair fixed for free, which is exactly what I did. I was much happier with the second hair stylist I had, who was more confident and had a better understanding of my hair. She took 1 1/2 hours to do the exact same thing my first stylist had done and had the instructor come over twice to check. So really, it's a hit or miss depending on who you get as your hair stylist. read more

I absolutely love coming here! I have been coming to this school to get my hair done for at least 6 or 7 years. I've never left unhappy. They take longer than a usual salon but that's ok because for the price and the excellent service they provide it is so worth it. The past couple of months I have been working with an amazing student by the name of Amanda Sander! She is the best!! She's so amazingly friendly and is helping me get to the beautiful blonde look I desire! She does great work and pays great attention to detail, which is so important. I will definitely continue to follow her even after she graduates! read more

Paul Mitchell The School Temecula - Go see Amanda Sander!! She's amazing - Cosmetology Schools Near Me - Temecula, California

Every time I come here I have a pleasant experience. Will always use Paul Mitchell the School Temecula for my hair needs.

Let me just say I was fully aware that this was a school and didnt expect salon quality... but I didnt expect to turn into a bobcat. I asked her to match what the rest of my hair was. which was highlighted. (no base or anything. just plain partial highlights). I also expressed to the teacher and the student that I didnt want to be turned orange. that was my main concern. This student was waiting for her inst. to come bk to discuss the game plan but didnt and decided to proceed anyway b/c she didnt want to wait anymore. I should have stopped her. (sign #1) I didnt. I was under the impression that she knew what she was doing being a phase 2 student and all. Turns out she wasnt.. despite my blatant request for a phase 2 student. Oh well. lets see what happens. Again. (sign#2) Well she turned me orange and then didnt want to use toner, b/c she said she didnt need to. What? i'm orange. I had to get a sup over there. (I never ask for sups @ salons) Well the while she got an instructor - she examined it and walked away. Well a 2nd lady walks over - - - and says you see you're hairs not orange? (wait who told you I said it was? ) The instruc. was on the other side of the room and the student was w/ me. Hmmm. are there speakers below my seat? Either way they tried to fix this disaster. and 6.5 hrs later I walked out w/ orange hair.. what do you expect for $33.00? Haircut: Now the haircut was marvelous!. I loved it. I didnt tip the girl b/c she didnt do what she was supposed to. I would hve tipped her for trying to fix it but had she just used toner the 1st place.. or waiting for instructor for a confirmed game plan - maybe it wouldnt have happened. Products: I did purchase products and love them. super skinny serum. i swtiched to that mixed w/ thicken up over my biosilk serum. I still use biosiilk but just not as frequent as super skinny serum. my bf also bought me the PAUL MITCHELL PROTTOOLS ESPRESS ION 1.0 and i love it. I dont use it all the time b/c i dont like to burn my hair. I found a great deal on it at Trade Secret herein LV. orig. $175.00 With the deal I got I think we got it @106.00!! Gotta love the recession...sometimes. :) read more

I Love getting my hair done! Meeting all the young ladies who are in school. So far I have been happy with there service

If you are coming here as a student don't do it. Your stuff will get stolen and they won't do anything about it: they create files on you and they will take your money and your not guaranteed a job after. I still don't know how to do most things that they claim you'll thrive on when you do the walk through. This place was a hell hole and wouldn't recommend. The owners aren't great either even though they are worshiped here felt like a cult more then a school read more

The barber Andrew cut me really hood the fade was krispy 10/10 would recommend getting a cut from him

I was recently here for two visits, on my first visit Kathy cut my hair, she did an excellent job as my hair had not even been trimmed since the start of Covid. I returned a few days later and Kathy transformed my dyed red hair into a beautiful blonde color. I felt totally confident that she would do a great job, even though I know going from red to blonde can be challenging. Armando was there and he did a wonderful job guiding and assisting with the foils. I know some people are fearful of going to a beauty school, but there is nothing to fear. Everything is overseen by an instructor and honestly I've had some great cuts at this school. Things take a little longer because they are under instruction but it's totally worth it. I bought the VIP membership for $50 a year, I get free haircuts for the year and 25% off of coloring or any other procedure . Which are way below the cost of a regular salon. I also get a 10% discount on the products Masks are required and social distancing is enforced Temperature is checked upon entering. Please note that they do accept credit/debit cards, however tips need to be in cash :) And the icing on the cake is that they are open until 10 pm! read more

Paul Mitchell The School Temecula - The color - Cosmetology Schools Near Me - Temecula, California

I've been here twice and both times I've had a great experience. The teachers and students are friendly and professional. The first time I just wanted to go darker, but they suggested a semi-permanent color in case I wanted to go blonde again, which is what I ended up doing the second time. The first appointment I didn't touch my roots, but this time I got baby lights (all curated and suggested by the student and teacher). read more

I got my basic color done by Meileen! My natural hair color was starting to come in and my ends were starting to lighten so I decided to go darker for fall. Meileen gave me an amazing chemical treatment and trim for my dry ends. She was super sweet and professional. I LOVE my new hair. Would recommend anyone to her! read more

If you want to have your hair done in a spurt of the moment, this is NOT the place to go. You have to call about 30 times to book an appointment! They need to have more lines available or an online booking service, since the front never answers the calls. Very frustrating read more

This is my second time here for a color retouch and trim. I was referred to Susanna feom a friend. She did an amazing job the first time so I'm back today for the same thing. I can't vouch for the work of other students, but the place is clean & professional. I moved here 1 year ago, so I've been searching for a colorist who does what I ask without breaking my budget. Suzanna & Paul Mitchell The School has met & surpassed my expectations. As some have commented, it takes longer than most regular salons because the work is done by learning students who need.to have their work approved & checked. I think this is a great way for them to learn & receive the constructive criticism & pointers for moving forward. Thanks! read more

If you never been to Paul Mitchell School in Temecula you really need to treat yourself to a wonderful experience. Emily Short, was my student/future professional. I had an appointment with Tierra for a haircut & blow out, I loved the experience AND results!! In love with my haircut. I even learned a few tips from queen Tierra. Love that lady so much!! BOOK HER! read more

I Had the greatest experience there! My hair was thinning and limp. I've tried hair pieces, wigs and various products to try to get volume, with no sucess. My husband suggested a body perm. While vacationing in Temecula I was told to go to Paul Mitchell Beauty School. I made an appointment with Megan Harris. It was her first perm on a real head! Her technique was professional and thorough. The result amazing! My limp hair has body and curl. Thanks for the great training and professionalism of school. Thanks Megan you have a great career to look forward to! read more

I made an appointment for highlights and a cut. I also made an appointment for my daughter to get a haircut as well. When the two students sat us down in the chairs apparently my appointment was only for a haircut, not highlights. Oh well, atleast I can get a cut. The professional came over, explained the process about how they are students, etc and we acknowledged everything. I wanted long layers and she explained to the student how to cut the layers in my hair so I could keep the length. We came in with open minds and not expecting perfection but.. the layers around my face were cut so much that when I was shown a picture of the back there was a good two inches of a gap between the front layers and the back section. I asked her to cut some more length off so it blended better, but I didn't want to lose my length! I was clear about that. But the front layers are so choppy that they ended up being a lot shorter than I wanted. one of which is a large chunk of hair around my ear. It won't go back into a ponytail, it just falls out and looks like a long sideburn. The long layers in the back section are good though, except the right side is a little longer than the left. My daughter has the same issue of unevenness as well. The professional came back to sign her paper and said good job! She didn't look at the work done, other than a glance. I don't understand how the student is supposed to learn from their mistakes! I could've said something about the choppy layers but what was done was done and I didn't want to make her feel bad. She was very nice! We then waited for a receptionist to take our papers from the stylist for payment. The receptionist gave us the dirtiest look! As if she was so annoyed that we were wanting to pay?! I stood there after she gave my card back, waiting for a receipt. She was typing and staring at the screen. Meanwhile the people next to us paid and their receptionist said "would you like a receipt?". I waited a little longer, then asked "do I get a receipt?" She rudely said "oh, you wanted a receipt? I already left that screen". I said "yeah, that's why I have been standing here!". I just walked out. So unprofessional and rude for no reason! Overall experience was not good at all. read more

When I retired last year, I decided to get my hair cut and colored at Paul Mitchell. Because I would be living on a fixed income, I knew it would be much less expensive than what I had been paying and I was confident that the hair products they used would be of excellent quality. I have not been disappointed. Whenever I am there, my spirits are lifted--it is such a happy, fun place. All of the instructors are so encouraging to the students and both students and instructors are great to the customer. They listen to you, they make suggestions, and try to accommodate you in all they do. I have not ever encountered anyone who was unkind or who acted like they were in a hurry. Today, Abigail had so much patience with me. When she had to leave, Sinema replaced her and she was great. I have had 2 other students cut and color my hair and both were great but I do not remember their names. I would recommend this place to anyone. April L. read more

This school is money driven. They have little regard to the education of their students as they do not have the appropriate staff providing the education needed. To start off some staff isn't licensed and they are currently teaching. Other staff is cross teaching departments they have no experience in and are not qualified in. They have no structure to the classes being provided (it's a teach yourself school). You can literally buy state licensing books to get the same education as this school instead of paying thousands of dollars for a brand name. They care about volume of students not the quality of what they educate on since more volume equals more money. It's to the point where classes overlap with other departments and working/learning space has been sacrificed to the point where learning is nearly impossible. Ethically they are doing an injustice to students by not having staff that is equipped for the profession their trying to learn about. This school disguised themselves with the brand that's being "rented" to attract students who have the best interest in learning. Beware as this school does not have the best interest in you as a future professional. read more

Paul Mitchell The School Temecula - Rico the Barber keeps my baby girl styled! - Cosmetology Schools Near Me - Temecula, California

I had scheduled a simple haircut appointment at least a couple days in advance, which was for 4:00 p.m. today (Tuesday). I arrived on time and the place was quite busy. I wasn't greeted at all, and the receptionist barely acknowledged me. I realized I had to tell them I was there for a 4:00 appointment and she seemed bothered. That should've been a red flag for me. I did notice a lot of students socializing and lounging around, but never acknowledging my presence. So after a half hour passed, I started falling asleep in the front bench (accidentally on purpose), so the second receptionist could get a clue. I then abruptly opened my eyes and reminded them of my four o clock appointment. She just unsincerely apologized and made a lame excuse that the girl that was supposed to cut my hair was absent and that it'd be another 15 minutes before they could find another stylist, but that they'd still "honor my appointment" (wow, thanks). So I waited until 4:45, but again no one showed concern or communicated when I'd be seen, but before I decided to finally walk out, the second receptionist that "assisted me", walked out (for break). I get they're busy, but at least act professional and communicate. That was 45 minutes out of my time. I'll never come back, smh. read more

I would never think twice to come here it is absolutely the best hair stylist that I have had in years! Joseph is always charming, funny, and dressed to impress! His hair techniques are fresh and clean. He really takes the time to get the job done right. I like that there is always a check and balance between the staff and students. If your not happy the staff steps in immediately to assure you will be happy. I have had my hair cut, colored, color corrected, did a conditioning treatment, and styled here all for great prices! I am so glad I decided to take the leap and give this place a chance! It has changed my hair to be so healthy and gorgeous as it should be! Kudos to Joseph he is a rock star and there is no doubt he will have an awesome career with hair! read more

If i could give this place a zero star rating i would. It's been a bit of time since i got my hair done, but i cannot stop thinking about how upset i was. None of the teachers know what the heck they are doing anymore besides armando. Courtney was the teacher in charge of My service and she didn't check on my highlights not once. She signed my ticket without even looking at my cut or color. the student in doing my hair told me that the students are afraid to ask her questions about their education and said that they aren't Getting the education that they paid for. $24,000 to teach themselves essentially after they get out of "core" . if You are going to be half a$$ing the education, you shouldn't be providing services. I was also informed that they got rid of the best learning leaders for things that shouldn't have been issues. Maybe the energy should be focused on what they can do for the students to better prepare them. If you are looking to come here to get an education, i suggest looking elsewhere. If you are looking to come to get your hair done, just know the Education has gone down hill over the last few years. I'll be getting my hair done at pmts San Diego From now on. Also the way the person in charge of the guests services (ruby) talks to guests is downright rude. read more

I have been a customer of this school for years! In all the years I've been here there have been nothing but professional students and leaning leaders. The girls at the front desk are friendly and get to know you quick of you're a regular! They run all kinds of specials all the time so make sure to check with the front desk. Right now they have a Yelp check in discount of 25%off. They have raffles for free products and services. It's such a fun, upbeat professional environment! I have worked with Alyssa (pronounced Aleesa), and Yvonne! They are all awesome students. Learning leaders like Elisa make you feel right at home! On top of the great prices they give you points towards $$ off your next service if you pre book appointments! Seriously you cannot get a better value. Have resonable expectations! They are still students so they may take a little longer than a regular salon but they're well worth the extra time. It just goes to show they care about doing a great job!! Enjoy. read more

As a first time customer, I scheduled an appointment for 1pm just enough time before work, and I checked in at 12:50. Other customers were being seen before me, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt - but it was already 1:30 and there was zero acknowledgment as to when I was going to be seen. Based on my time management, I couldn't stay there much longer -- so I cancelled my appointment, I refuse to reschedule or return in the future. read more
