Over the years I have insisted with my landscaper, that he buys our flowers and bushes at only this nursery. I accompany him to the nursery for the selection of material that I am using each year as a loyal customer, Because of the size of my property my yearly expenditure at Atlantic nursery is approximately $2500. because this is a wholesale nursery, the landscaper, then adds his percentage to this amount.... This year when he was working on installing the product, there was one important item we forgot, the landscaper called the office and told him who he was and who I was and said that we were missing this one item and would it be OK for the customer this one time to come and pick it up and put it on his Account. Atlantic nurseries agreed that it would be OK, After driving one hour to get there, the manager from the back office came out to me, and in a Very abruptly, very nasty belligerent manner told me that under no circumstances would they allow me to pick up this one item. When I explain the circumstances to him, he was clearly not interested in anything I had to say, spoke over me and told me not to bother explaining it to him, because he was not going to accommodate me. I explained, I was disappointed because I had driven an hour to get there, and that his office agreed to the one Item over the phone and I left. He came out to the parking lot approached my vehicle and further berated Me About the fact that my landscaper should not have sent me here, And with some profanity and threats sent me on my way. Over the last couple of years, this is not been the first time they have made it difficult to do business there.... Their business manner is not conducive to a friendly, helpful accommodating way in which to spend your dollars. I don't know why every year I went back to them. I think it was out of my loyalty to do the original owner who helped us with our landscape design. The people running Atlantic nursery now clearly feel that they are doing you a favor by doing business with them .... In the future, I will be spending my $2500 worth of landscape material with the many other wholesale nurseries on Deer Park Avenue. There is clearly nothing special about this nursery anymore.
