I called to see if my insurance was accepted so I could schedule a consultation. It was an…read moreanswering service that answered and said they would have the office call me back. Once they did I received confirmation that my insurance was accepted, in which case I asked to setup a consultation. They took my insurance information and said they'd call back by the end of the day. Since I hadn't heard from them I called back the following day, with the answering service taking the call again, and told them I hadn't heard back and was looking to see if I can get the appt scheduled. They apologized and said the would pass the message to the office and have someone call back shortly. No call back was done that day. When I attempted to call the following day, it said the number was not taking calls at that time (for those of you know or don't, this actually means that they blocked me!) I was pretty shocked to say the least. I tested it out by calling off a different number and it went through no problem. What kind of office runs this way? Who knows what will happen to the information I gave them. Stay far away from here, very unethical practice.

I can't speak about his ability to do epidurals or nerve ablation but there are some unsettling reviews on here. TLDR Dr G should have had a full scanogram ( a special x ray done with rulers) done before telling me to push through the pain of shoe lifts but he didn't he is severely mistaken which is embarrassing as it's well known muscle guarding from a bulged disc can pull up a hip. Immediate is defined as "occurring, acting, or accomplished without loss or interval of time." My wife's visit to the emergency room makes no sense to me. Her primary care physician's nurse told her to make an appointment with a doctor (with first available appointment in 4 days), or go to the ER. We chose the ER, but, not before sending me to the gym to exercise, so that she could fix her hair. I understand the ER has more equipment than doctor's office, and even urgent care. It seemed wrong to go to the ER when it was not an emergency. St. Jude ER was vastly different from the ER in Canada that we just visited, where it was a real emergency. We showed up at 5PM and registered. The triage nurse saw us almost immediately. We saw the doctor within an hour. The doctor followed up on the care that my wife received in Canada and ordered a CT scan and some bloodwork. Everyone that we interacted with was nice and professional. They all knew what their job was. I'll take this over universal healthcare in Canada any day where it took 6 hours just to be triaged! Even though we spent four hours at the ER, the time went by quickly because the the process here at St. Jude is just so much better. It was a good experience. I don't want or need to experience them any more. Hopefully, I will never come back.

They also gave me more unnecessary tests to charge more. Be cautious of this Saw a roach running around in the waiting room and the maintenance guy laughed and squished it and threw it in the trash far away. He didn't want to get it. This hospital is filthy. Dirty by beyond. How do you expect to help sick patients with a dirty hospital. Floors black, vents full of dust and allergies. I'm always seen in the basement floor. Even if they're not busy they stick you down there put a curtain and ignore you until they see everyone else first on the upper levels. Nurses are chatting about Starbucks and who knows what instead of doing their jobs. I've seen urine samples left, people's paperwork on the floor, overall a horrible experience They don't do thorough tests to see what's causing your issue. Only to treat you from an emergency (to not die) then they send you home and say follow up with your dr. Good luck Ridiculous. And they raised healthcare this year by 25% higher copays and worse treatment. At this rate it's better to look into moving states where they actually care about you or going to another hospital

I had blood pressure of 224/94, and I called 911 because of chest pain and feeling very tired. I have a history of cardiac issues and had already had a heart attack 20 years ago. I was concerned that I might be having another heart attack, so I went to Garden Grove medical center. I never saw a doctor once admitted to my room! Plenty of "staff" but no doctor! They ran some tests but never told me that they do not have access to the equipment needed to perform cardiac catheterization to look at possible damage to my heart or even say for sure if I had already had a heart attack. However, they knew my troponin was through the roof!! They let me lay in that hospital for 3 days without a way to help me. While there, I shared a room with another patient who required dialysis. They gave that patient dialysis bedside, and they had a tube on the floor that was letting blood waste go down the drain into the shower we both shared. This patient next to me was terribly ill and was coughing non-stop and then on the 3rd day suddenly a paper appeared on the wall, and my family was now required to wear a gown, mask and gloves even though this was never mentioned before and I asked to be moved but they refused! I still don't know what he had but obviously it was very contagious and could have complicated my condition even further. My fiancé came and did basically a jail break because I was leaving AMA- Against medical advice. They would not let me leave! It took 3 hours for this staff member to tell us that she could not find a place with a bed for me anywhere near by and that I needed to stay there. We fought back and said no way! I signed their documents to leave AMA, and we were able to go to my brother's house and call 911 from there. I was taken to Whittier PIH and there they have an outstanding cardiac care unit. It was determined within an hour of my arrival at Whittier PIH that I had one main artery in my heart that was 99% blocked and two others that were at 50%. Garden Grove Medical Center couldn't tell me that after 3 days!!!! If I would have laid in that bed for any more time and I would have lost my life. Thankfully we got out of there and to a place where I could get the care I needed. It scares me for myself and for others that might experience something similar to this. These people are only too happy to bill our insurance and take our money, but they don't want to care for us! I still can't believe they made us wait 3 hours when we wanted to leave to see if they could locate a bed somewhere else which didn't happen! A waste of time and it could have been the end of my life!!!!! Please don't go to this hospital!! You will regret it!
