These medications are very safe when they are used properly as prescribed. However when these patients abuse them or use them in combination with other medications the outcome can be deadly. First, it has to be said that, suicide and the misuse of drugs is a tragic and complicated problem. During the 13 years I have been a patient of Dr Vu's I have found medication which is extremely effective in dealing with my chronic intractable pain. I can honestly say that without relief from my pain I did, on several occasions, consider suicide. I have suffered many complications following being hit by a drunk driver. I tried to cope as best as I could on my own and ended up destroying my stomach by over the counter anti-inflammatorys. I almost died and spent months in the hospital when I suffered a rupture and became septic. I know there are risks involved in taking Any medication. Also, that there is always going to be a small percentage who may have different motivations and use the drugs incorrectly. It just has to be said that the work that Dr Vu does is important and life saving. He is a highly ethical and deeply concerned physician. I am able to enjoy a much higher quality of life because of his care: because, I can now use less medication due to the combination of steroidal and nerve block injections. I am sorry for the families who have lost their loved one's and also that Dr Vu's reputation has also suffered. I know that Dr. Vu does good for his patients, because I am one of them. He helped me tremendously when I had bad neck pain. I like the fact that his office has all specialties in one location, so I wouldn't have to run around town for other options. I can honestly say that when I was in his waiting room on about 6 or so occasions, I witnessed a a couple of patients being nasty and belligerent to his front desk - wow, kudos to his front desk staff. I can see how stressful it is to handle certain type of patients who are already angry and in pain, imagine if they did not take the proper dosage as prescribed, in addition of wanting more and more pills to ease their pain? When does the doctor decide who is really legitimately in pain, and when is the patient faking it, just to fulfill their addiction? Dr Vu is excellent at managing pain. He has given me great relief from back pain. I have been his patient for 15 years. I need a back injection every year or two. Everybody believes that blood is always thicker than water. Are you trying to put a wedge between the two brothers? Or you think you can fool the readers with your lie by saying that's what a brother would say against his own brother??? Third, you should have used proper English. You should start your first sentence with "I" (in capital) as opposed to "i" (in lower case). Similarly, you should start the second part of your second sentence with "T" as opposed to "t." These are just two examples. You also wrote "He bought the whole thing just for himself and a lot of properties any where from Seattle to California." How would you know all this? The tone of your writing is so angry. Are you a disgruntled employee that is trying to get your revenge by bashing him? Or is it because you are unhappy with your life? Dr Vu has been my Pain Management doctor for over 3 years. He is deeply committed to his patients' well being and bringing their issues into check. Unfortunately, many patients expect dramatic and speedy recovery. Negative patient reviews for most pain management specialists usually reflect unrealistic expectations, case-in-point, epidural procedures. They work for some, but not all. Surgery may be necessary should treatments not provide results and is not a Pain Manager's fault. Dr Vu's practice, imo, is as much an art as science and is strongly based upon genuine concern for his patients. He spends whatever time is needed to access patients progress and alternative treatment plans should one approach does not provide desired results. Some patients, my self included, must commit their time with Dr Vu to give varying treatments a chance to work. For long-term patients, a deep rapport and trust develops. My Story: After fracturing several vertebrae (x-rays did not reveal the damage), and spending literally months in bed, my primary physician sent me to physical therapy for 3 months. I left every session in more pain than before I arrived. Preliminary x-ray interpretations said I did not break my back. No wonder the therapy exacerbated my pain! I visited a well known neurosurgeon at Hoag for consultation and options. Extensive x-rays, MRI and CT scan work-ups, I was given 2 options: fuse at least 3 discs plus rods into other vertebrae for scoliosis, or do nothing and live with it. Obviously, I chose the latter. The pain remained unbearable and my posture was quite contorted. Yet another visit to my Primary and referral, this time red me to Dr. Vu who, upon reviewing my lengthy history, imagery, reports, interpretations, and so forth, I was immediately scheduled for a series of epidurals and taken off opiates. As it turns out, I had congenital degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, and osteoporosis. My cervical, thoracic, and lumbar compression fractures complications included spurs, calcification, bulged discs, sciatica, thoracic kyphosis, pinched nerves, regular muscle spasms/pain and so forth. You get the picture - my back is that of someone 15-25 years older. Not Happy! After over a year of numerous trigger point injections and alternating epidural locations, Dr Vu brought my pain/spasms into check. My need for pain and muscle relaxants is reduced to flare-ups only. Recently, after my problems were under control, I noticed my hip and calve pain remained. He diagnosed moderate osteoarthritis, type 2, of the hip socket, probably due to a motorcycle injury and years of extreme sports - which was also a contributed to my spinal problems. An injection into the socket brought this problem under control as well. In summary, Dr Vu turned outlook on life around. I am ambulatory again and, after coming to terms with my long-term problems, have the opportunity to live my live to the fullest. I highly recommend Dr Vu as the doctor of choice and his recovery plan(s) of action over surgery, unless, of course, potentially permanent nerve damage mandates surgery. Dr Vu should still be consulted with and assist in post-surgery recovery. read more

Dr Vu has been my pain management doctor for over a year. I feel he has helped me function again. I will continue to keep him as my doctor. As an RN who spent years working with pain management patients I feel my perspective is concrete. I have worked with many types of patients, from the "A" personalities who expect instant results so they can function at their meeting tomorrow, "B" personalities who have a more realistic grasp on the situation, knowing they won't be jumping off of the injection table into a gymnastics flip, and those realizing that it will take time and dedication. This is the "responsible gruop". Then there are those (group "C") who are understandably frustrated that the tools and technology we have available to us at this time is not working for them. They are easily bothered due to their underlying pain, which makes others see them as cranky. The pain medications themselves which have worked successfully for millions of patients but are "just not working" for them, combined with.changes of lifestyle, income and the decrease of options that lead to depression. These are the patients who need their family's support more than ever. So when these unfortunate deaths occurred where were the support groups for these patients? Do the families feel the doctor should have been there holding the patient's hand, making sure the patient did not lie about any other meds (Rx and non Rx) he was taking, at the right times and in the correct amounts? So the doctor was at fault for believing the patient when the patient agreed to the treatments and their requirements. Dr Vu was not at fault. He did his job. I believe the "torch mobs" of feel guilty for not doing their own jobs as loving family members. These people fell down on their watches. It was not the Doctor. read more

Does he hire good doctors to see his patients for him? no, They are not even doctors, people; they are PAs, chiropractors. So, what is real him, very rich, a big Lie, irresponsible and frankly, very stupid, smart people who lies a lot better because they know to say to make sensed you all know why, he wants your money, that's why those addicts keep coming to him, and no places else, because they can't get from other doctors. It's very irresponsible when you have patient files and you know what you are dealing with and still put down those prescriptions. So, when your mom, your dad and all your relatives die because of his prescriptions, of bad surgeries. That's when you can shut up and stop saying about no bodies force you to take those drugs.
