Luckily, I was in a rural area and it created just a bit of anxiety. I decided to find an eye doctor and figure out the problem. I found Dr. Byars from the internet and got an appointment. My records from Oregon did not arrive on time for the appointment so after spending a lot of time trying to get a fax through to Ohio, I found the data he needed on my phone through an online health report. He spent so much time with me trying to get this right. He increased the prism value of my prescription and we sent it over to Oregon so my regular eye doctor had it in my records. My husband took an older frame to the Oregon doctor and they sent it in so I would have a corrected pair of glasses when I returned from my trip. Dr. Byars was so patient and knowledgable. He will be my go-to when I return to the area in the future. His office is decorated with scarlet and grey...OH--IO!!!

I was told by the person that answered that she ordered them. She had not verified my name or anything. So, I asked her how that was possible if she doesn't know who I am. So, then I gave her my info. Again, she said she ordered them. I asked when I should expect them in-she said 1-2 weeks and that they would call me. I waited 2 weeks. No call from them. So, I call back-was a told again from the new person that they were ordered and will be in. I ask for a receipt or proof they were ordered since I have zero contacts right now and only a pair of broken glasses and cannot see or drive without them. Only thing I have is RX sunglasses for the moment. She said she would look into it. I never got the receipt. Then, since they have impossibly bizarre hours, I call back the next week. It's been 3 entire weeks now without contacts. I have a specialty type for astigmatism and cannot order them myself if I would have. I call back and told "they will be in" from the new person. I asked again for the doctor to call me or a receipt because I can't wait any longer. She said she'd have the Dr. Call me. RUDELY, the Dr. Does call me-but not with any solution or understanding. She consistently interrupts me and insists the "notes say that she called you". Your RX is expired. Well, my phone records do not show a call or voicemail from them which I checked religiously because I needed the contacts so badly. I checked my actual phone bill. They never called. No email. Nothing. I had already verified they had the correct contact info for me to rule that out. So, rather than apologize or come up with a solution the Dr. Consistently says she could not have ordered them. Ok, well are you not going address that I was consistently lied to or how to solve this problem? Nope. Offered zero solution. Only a defensive attitude and angry that I brought up the RX law that shows my RX for contacts can be 2 years at the Dr. discretion. It doesn't have to be 1. So, she easily could have came up with a solution. I would have even been open to quickly getting a full exam and having them rush order the contacts. But, NOTHING was offered to help this mess if a situation that was entirely their fault. Also, if my exam expired-why aren't you reaching out to me at all. Don't go here unless you want to go back into the past like it 1989 and you have zero communication. I will say, they gave me a good contact exam-but the new hire obviously is not trained and if they mess up, they take zero responsibility. I was consistently lied to. The Dr. Did not even apologize for that, instead just argued with me. So, here we are. I gave them multiple chances to fix this and they completely failed. I'm stuck without being able to drive at night until I can get some corrective lenses. Thanks for being sympathetic to a problem you created for me.

I get there and we are told to sit while the lady finishes up with a customer. We go see the glasses in the meantime and can hear Muhassad Aljumaili speak loudly to the lady that he will not take his 6:30 appointment. He after comes to us and mentions he is no longer taking 6:30pm appointments and he will not see my daughter and 'we tried calling, but you had the wrong number on file' mind you I got a text and a email confirmation after all that he made me follow him to the computer and mentioned you are 5 min late anyways and I mentioned I was looking at glasses we was not late. This has been my GO TO location for my 2 girls and myself this was such a disappointment of how we was treated and im extremely upset that instead of throwing a tantrum and speak loudly to his colleague he should have came and apologized and rescheduled.

We had a humorous conversation both during the initial exam and with the eye doctor. This is a team that works well together, and you can tell by the end product which was a very pleasurable experience. I would give them 5 stars, but I was a little disappointed by the hours of operation. They're open after 5:00 p.m. only 3 days a week and closed on weekends, which made it difficult for me to schedule an appointment to accommodate my work schedule. But that isn't enough for me to consider anyone else. I was very satisfied with my visit and will be sending the rest of my family when the time comes.

I'm sorry, but since when did scheduling an appointment become insufficient to actually keep one? Patients have lives. We have jobs, families, and responsibilities. We should not have to monitor an endless stream of automated messages just to ensure a healthcare provider honors an appointment they agreed to. The irony is that this office now sends more texts than Kohl's, yet somehow expects patients to distinguish the one message that apparently determines whether they'll receive care. There is a difference between a helpful appointment reminder and excessive automated communication. And there is an even bigger difference between providing patient care and treating an unanswered text message as permission to cancel someone's appointment. **Perhaps instead of investing so much energy into automated messaging, the new ownership should focus on customer service and respecting their patients' time.** Absolutely unacceptable.

Dr. Schecter discussed how he would use his best judgment in writing the updated prescription, but to be aware that it might not be perfect on some days. Sticking with the same doctor is also valuable because the historical record of your vision can help flag issues that might be missed otherwise. I would Despite living across town, it is worth the drive for a very thorough eye exam and for the impressive covid-19 safety measures in place which include only one patient in the office at a time, mandatory mask wearing (although fully vaccinated patients are allowed to remove their mask to check the look and fit of eyeglass frames that are thoroughly cleaned afterward). Jason was very helpful in recommending frames and in pulling the ones that interested me, and he could safely remain behind a plexiglass screen after slipping a tray of my choices to me to try on. With my insurance, I have found the cost of the frames and lenses for my rather complicated prescription was comparable to ordering online from a reputable company, but I prefer to support a local business when I can while still limiting my exposure risk. I was impressed by the selection of frames given the relatively small office space. When I selected the ones I wanted, Dr. Schecter himself adjusted the nose and ear pieces for a perfect fit and did the necessary measurements for the progressive lenses. This is the same pair I will receive back once the lenses are manufactured and installed, so no additional office contact is necessary. They will notify me when they arrive, and I can schedule a curbside pickup. However, if you prefer to order your glasses or contacts online, Dr. Schecter is quite willing to provide a printed copy of your prescription and it's still well worth scheduling with him for a thorough eye exam in a safe environment.
