Frozen beef patties seconds 1 dozen
Darby C.

Came here to pickup some seconds beef patties. The location had lineup partitions and social distancing markers on the ground. The staff were wearing baking hats and were taking orders. Menus were clear and posted on the walls. The fresh pattys cost $13 for a dozen while the seconds were $7 for dozen. I got the seconds since i will ne putting them in the freezer to eat later on. They also serve some Caribbean dishes as well. Service was fast and friendly. Haven't tasted my patties yet but I'm sure they taste as good as the ones you buy from the supermarket. Pricing is cheaper than the grocery store. Recommend buying direct from them as you are supporting them 100%.

Cheap prices but bland patties. Allans patties on Kennedy is far better. Worth the drive to Allans in my view. Friendly service at patty king. Line is crazy long but staff is efficient.

****4 out of 5 stars**** Patty King situated near Brimley/Progress, near STC, is a good spot for your Caribbean cravings. The name Patty King may be familiar name most of you, as you would see their patties being sold in subway convenience stores. Their main factory also has hot foods as well. Patties were sold year round but the hot food section was closed during the pandemic, but it reopened when restrictions were lifted. I ordered a variety of everything. Patties - one of each kind, veggie, chicken, spicy beef Jerk Pork sandwich - excellent, high recommend! Fish fritters - a tad too salty Small Oxtail - it was ok Small Jerk Chicken - very good! FYI: they only accept cash or debit.

$6.25 for a lunch special including a can of pop is a steal!

If you're hungry but low on dough, be grateful that there are places like this where you can score some food that'll keep your hunger at bay. $6.25 lunch specials gets you a savoury chicken or pork dish, plain rice or peas and rice, with a can of pop. Generous portions for the price. Hubby liked the spicy jerk pork and I preferred the tender stew chicken. Jamaican patties are 95 cents each or 3 for $2.48. Spicy beef patties (red dot) have a flaky exterior and spicy but pasty filling. Order it hot and eat it before it gets cold because it won't taste as good later on. Go early because they will run out of certain items. Arrived at 4pm on a Wednesday and they were out of curry chicken and jerk chicken. Sweet elderly woman who took my order gave me an extra patty for free because she said the first one was not hot enough. Happy to add this place to my "$" list.

I'm lazy today, even though it was a short work week I will pick up delicious takeout again at this local Scarborough jerk hot spot! Remember to bring cash... It can get very busy at Patty King but it's worth the wait for jerk pork or chicken, curry goat, ox tail, rice & peas, and crispy oven fresh patties. You can enjoy the patties at home by purchasing frozen bulk; 1, 6 or 12 pack. I bought 6 hot beef patties. Friendly service and excellent food. Limited seating is available to dine in; most buy and run. Some parking found at the front but more spaces are at the back of this Progress Ave building.

Small oxtail with rice & peas

It's been a while since I've had oxtail so I thought I'd give theirs a try. The oxtail was nice and tender. Rice and peas was a little overdone, though. The flavour is also a little too bland to my liking. The portion was pretty good for its price though. Would I get it again? Probably not. 3/5.

In high school, my friends and I used to come here so frequently since it was only a short bus ride away. Their fresh patties are so, so good for a cheap price and my friends used to be obsessed with their jerk chicken as well. Now, I mainly come here for their frozen patties as my manager loves them and they make the perfect gift. They have gone up in price by $1, so it's $6.50 for a dozen as of January 2019, which is still an amazing price for them! Parking can be a little bit of a hassle if you come during peak lunch hours since the place also serves hot food. There are only 2 parking spots at the front and they have a sign saying that you cannot park in the parking lot for the store beside theirs. However, there is parking at the back of the bakery as well.

Patty King is good for cheap good eat! Jerk Pork with Rice ($4.43) eating that made me really happy. Tender pork with the perfect spice and at under $5?!!! Now I know why there is always a line up at Patty King! And it definitely worth the wait. There are a few small standing table if you want to dine in.

The best value around... and the jerk chicken is amazing. Come here for the food not the scenery. I think it is some of the best jerk and patties around. It is mostly take out, but they now have a few high top tables to dine in. The parking can be a bit crazy and they only accept cash. This is a must try!!!

Came here to support BLM and wanted to treat all of coworkers and managers to a patty, but their veggie patties is not vegetarian at all and has beef suet in it as an ingredient, but no one told me during payment or else I would have never even bought it since half of my workplace is either vegetarian, vegan or doesn't eat beef for religious reasons. Rather disappointed.

Take out only place, not much parking available... Order at Jerk Pork on Rice and Peas with a can of pop for $6.50. And 3 beef patties for approximately $2.75. First of all, they screwed up my order, gave me Jerk Chicken instead... only found out when I got home :( The Jerk Sauce is legit!!! Good flavour! Flavour was medium... not too much kick, wasn't salty compared some other places in my mind.. would love to get my hands on a jar of their jerk sauce!!!! Rice was on the sweet side with the coconut flavour. Also a bit soggy for my personal liking... I guess I usually wouldn't notice as I always ask for extra gravy on top.. but since they screwed up my order.. it's not what I'm accustomed to.. Chicken was done perfect!! But that is usually the case... Beef patties... weren't so great... the pastry was soggy and too much flour I'll probably forget about this place soon...

Came here early one morning and was greeted by the sweetest old man. He's old, he moves slow, but he has the sweetest personality and smile. I have more than enough patience for his service. I came here looking for a dozen spicy beef patties and jerk chicken after a friend had raved about the two. At $5.50 for a dozen spicy beef patty seconds? That's a steal. After bringing them home and throwing them in the toaster over for a few minutes, the crust comes out SUPER crispy and flaky, the filling plentiful, flavourful, and packs a decent kick. The small jerk chicken I ordered was ready in just two minutes! It was served over rice and peas and came with a small serving of coleslaw. The three pieces of jerk chicken was juicy, and quite flavourful. The rice and peas underneath, soaked in the jerk chicken juices was fresh and moist. Delicious! The small box actually fed me for two meals. I definitely need to come back for this one.

We had the jerk chicken with rice and peas, snapper with brown stew veggies and rice, stuffed oxtail patty...EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT! Jerk chicken was tender, full of flavor- great spices with the perfect balance of heat that was experienced throughout the bite, not just on the skin. The Snapper was cooked to order (30 minute wait). Tender, great flavor, not too many bones. Even the fish gravy was made to order as when I asked for more they had to make it. Deliciously worth the wait. The STUFFED OXTAIL PATTY was the star of the show. When they say stuffed, they mean it! This beauty is a creative love song in your mouth that your stomach will thank you for. It's buttery, soft, flaky, flavorful, fatty in the best oxtail kinda ways, and just....YES! You didn't know you needed this in your life but your welcome. This menu item can be a meal that stands on its own as I could only get through half of it as a side. Service was good. Just one young lady at the register holding down two long lines alone. One for the order and payment, and the other for pick up. She did well navigating high demand and customer satisfaction. Tip: Get extra gravy- we got extra oxtail, jerk, and fish and used it. Ambiance is mom & pop. You can eat there, or take it to go. Most people grabbed there's to go. Had we eaten ours there we probably would've ended up doubling our order and waistline. Well... in my Arnold Terminator voice, "I'll Be Back!"

All of the oxtail shredded meat, the cheese, the slaw, and the patty all perfectly come together into a very hearty meal. For its price, it is very filling and extremely tasty. The other thing we had was the Large Jerk Chicken meal. The Jerk Chicken was how I personally would want it. Not too hot, not too salty, not burnt, and spiced just right. The rice & beans proportion to the protein was just a little more than what I would prefer, but it is not a big issue. There was also a piece of bread that we had along with the meal which I enjoyed having. It was tasy and soft bread that perfectly acts to refresh the palate so we can go for another bite out of the Jerk Chicken or the Oxtail patty. What was a little letdown was that the place was a little small and not really primarily setup to accommodate a lot of indoor dining. There was no washroom or at least a place to wash hands. Service was also just alright. It was not bad, but just not among the best service standards that I know. You would need to come in with a lot of patience in waiting to order and waiting for the food to be ready to serve. Between taking orders, the person over the counter would also be occasionally be on the phone answering call inquiries.

I decided to drop by on Saturday, just after noon. It's in a fairly dumpy strip mall on Eglinton Avenue East, just west of Brimley Road, in Scarborough. There is plenty of parking. I parked fairly close to the entrance. A car was illegally parked in front of the business next to Aunt Elsie's. I don't get why folks need to do that when there are so many parking spots. Aunt Elsie's looks like a tiny convenience store from the outside, but looks are deceiving. It's also a small Jamaican grocery store that doubles as a takeout eatery. I was not expecting such an amazing place. I simply wanted patties! I found the Grace jerk chicken patties. They came in mild and hot flavours. I always go with mild when I'm not familiar with how spicy items can be. There are also Allan's and Michidean patties. You know that you are at a decent place. Although I felt like Ms Pac-Man as I moved around a small space with a bunch of folks while trying to physically distance, I looked at all the condiments and spices. This place uses space wisely. The wall of condiments and spices is impressive. I also looked longingly at the chilli peppers. They looked pretty and deadly! The hot foods counter blew me away. You can't help but gawk at all the yummy food options, from various fried fish, to jerk chicken and curry goat while you are in line to pay for your items. I took one look at the salt fish fritters and knew that I needed to try them. I got two. Note to self: Get the oxtail dinner next time. Get more hot items after that. I had a lovely, sweet woman behind the counter get my fritters and cash me out. I paid using my debit card. She also bagged my goodies. I thanked her and wished her a lovely day. The customers at this store are friendly. I loved the vibe. They were courteous and nice, which I'm not necessarily used to in my neck of the woods! I was still full from breakfast. However, I made room to consume a salt fish fritter in my car before I continued running errands. OMG! It was so flavourful. The fish was salted, but not to the point where you feel like you need to down a litre of your favourite beverage afterwards. It was seasoned perfectly. I think that there was garlic, onion, and red pepper, at least. So good! I have such a weakness for fritters and I'm glad that I caved here. I heated up a jerk chicken patty for breakfast (hey, why not?) this morning. It does have a spice kick that is more than what you'd typically expect from an item that is labelled mild. Highly yummy. The filling is flavourful and the dough part was perfect. Each patty is individually wrapped to preserve freshness. A box is $5.90. I love them! Aunt Elsie's was such a terrific find. If you want to order hot food in advance, this eatery is on Uber Eats. Otherwise, you can call ahead. (396)
