We are from Danville, and this is not our regular church, but MTC was open for the party...of worship! Everyone there greeted us warmly and was very welcoming through the night. What a great group with a big heart for God, and what a sweet thing God has done there. Their hearts are genuine and humble, and they have such a desire to serve, as they faithfully have for years. The items are in great to excellent shape. My first experience with them as far as donations was when I needed a couch to be picked up. I heard they would pick up items. When I called they gave me the third degree and acted like it had to be brand new for them to pick it up. My couch was perfectly fine to donate and the family who received it was more than happy. Because in the end, I told Hope Chest to just forget it! They obviously didn't want my donation. Well, today I called ahead of time and the person I talked to said, "Make sure you don't have a truck load of donations right before closing!" She didn't say anything about them not accepting toys of any kind. I would not have wasted a trip. I also agree with some of the other posts, their prices are pretty high for a thrift store. Yes, sometimes the manager will work with you. But I don't like to haggle. I would rather just see a good/fair price, pick it up and take it home. I also wish they would have student/teacher discount day like some of the other thrift stores have. It would be nice. :)

This is a center run by adults and I expect even the minimum level of professionalism, but I guess not. You've got people who reschedule their entire work weeks for these counseling appointments. Every week you put off his appointments pushes back when he can finally start T and be the man he wants to be. That's not something I can forgive easily.

She was absolutely critical in helping me identify a quality solution and then helping to execute the transfer. The facility she connected me with was OUTSTANDING and I cannot thank her enough. She also went out of her way to visit us, in my aunt's last days, bringing a lovely gift for my aunt.
