Terrible service. Sexist workers. Refused to even look at my car. Allowed an older man to interrupt our conversation mid sentence to help him even though he had already walked out of the office. Told me he set a date he would be able to fix my car and took a copy of my registration and insisted all I needed was the adjuster quote when I had it few days later. The date he claimed he set was more than 5 weeks out. I continued to question what time I should arrive as I noticed he didn't write my name down. He told me around 9AM and to just call the woman in the office with the quote. Showed up with the information a week later and they claimed there was no record of me being scheduled. Then said the next possible date would be 2 weeks further out than the initial date I was told. read more

Dropped my car off for a simple scratch repair covered by insurance. I was disappointed with the lack of any updates with the repair. Pattersons needed a surplus from insurance which caused a 1 week delay before the repair even started. I was not notified of this. I was never given updates about the surplus or when the repair would actually start. I feel like I had to babysit the entire process. The repair was high quality but I value communication more since many shops could have performed the same job. read more

These guys were flawless. My truck had its bumper ripped off by a UPS truck (watch out for those things!), and these guys made it look like it had never been touched. It was the little things that made this work so well. They arranged for the rental car (which I was able to just drop off at their shop when I picked up my truck), they had all the parts ordered by the day I brought my truck in, and they were always exceptionally nice - both in person and on the phone. I don't really have too many details about this place even though I've had two cars fixed here. I guess autobody shops might just be like that. It's not like I comparison shopped or anything. This is close to my house, and insurance was picking up the bill, so I went there. They did a couple things that I found helpful. First, when the insurance appraiser was only planning on giving us money for used parts, this body shop had the appraiser come back out and somehow talked him into letting us get new parts. Secondly, they did a good job of making sure that the appraiser didn't skip any of the damaged parts from when I pummelled a deer. I know the insurance company was just trying to save money and so I'm glad the bodyshop identified all the problems (which admittedly they were motivated by money to do). But in general, I'd rather have dollars go to the local bodyshop than to the big evil insurance corporation. And finally, they did get me a very good deal on a rental car with the local Enterprise guy. It was cheaper than anything I would have been able to arrange on my own, so they get props for that. It did take a little longer than they originally estimated on getting my car back, so that's why they didn't get five stars, but in general, I thin they are a good business. read more

My civic had been hit in a parking lot and the front bumper cover was ruined. I called Patterson's (the receptionist was really nice too!) and ended up speaking with a gentlemen named Frank. He was very open to discussing the alternatives that I had brought up regarding the replacement of the bumper cover. He offered me the three different quotes I was looking for and was very happy to answer any of my questions. Out of those three options, I ended up having Patterson's order the OEM bumper cover and paint and install it. Well, I picked my car up last night and I am happy to say they did a fantastic job. I know it's weird to review a company positively, when you had to junk a car, but I'm gonna do it. My beloved Explorer was 13 years old, and had too much body rust to pass inspection. Damned Unibody construction. Okay, you deal. What they did do, is print me out a valuation on the truck, which was above Blue Book Value, for the work I had done on the truck. This made a big difference to me, on my trade in negotiations, with the Ford dealership. The guy at Richardson's I dealt with didn't have to do it, but, he went out of his way to help me out. They didn't charge me a red cent, for their help. My neighbor, Bill, who has lived here all his life, says these guys are the Real Deal. They will help you out, with insurance appraisals. read more

Let The Buyer Beware! This is by far the worst body shop around. You should think twice before even considering using this shop. Their reputation is not good coming from locals. Big turnover in help and substandard repairs. Case in point. Several months ago I had an accident where the right front of my Mariner was struck causing damage to the wheel assembly, fender, brakes and steering. I was given the car back and noticed that the right front brakes were smoking and the car pulled badly to the right. I returned the car to them and was told that the brakes needed to replaced. They replaced the brakes on the front and returned the car to me. I immediately noticed that the brakes were still an issue and once again took it back. This time they replaced the right front brake hose and said once again it was OK. The brakes were no better and we drove the car until finally the wheel locked up and had to be towed to the dealer. I received a call from Ford indicating that the steel brake line that goes from the ABS module across the frame to the right brake was squashed. They said most likely it was damaged when someone was removing the steering rack that was damaged in the accident. Frank the owner of Patterson Auto Body had told me they had a real hard time with removing the rack and had to take it to Ford for the steering column. I now had to have Ford replace the entire front brake components a second time and the steel line to the tune of $996.52. In addition to doing the accident repair I asked for a price to repair rust coming from the two rear wheel wells at the bottom of the quarter panels. Frank gave me a price of $1500.00, which I agreed to. I noticed a piece of metal sticking out of the left side wheel well and returned it to them to correct. I once again got it back and rust started to form after 2 weeks or so. Unfortunately I had a heart attack and just now was able to take it back after several months. I showed it to Frank today and he told me there is no warranty on rust repairs, which was never conveyed to me up front. I showed him where they ground down the piece of metal and that there was no weld which caused the rust on that side to form again. He exclaimed that it was done properly and no warranty. I said he did spotty work and would never come back. He said "Coming from you means nothing to me". Long story short I got taken bad and outside of taking them to small claims there is nothing I can do to recoup my losses. Local neighbors had told me they would not ever use Patterson's however that conversation took place after the fact. Do your homework and check out several other local body shops in the area before having your body work done or ask your insurance company for their preferred body shop. read more

My insurance company suggested I used them the first time, and each time since they've been friendly, professional, they've performed the repairs perfectly, and within (or EARLIER) than their time estimate. I was recommended by Acton Ford for this place. However, they refused to repair my front bumper minor damage suffered from hitting a curb and insisted to replace it with new. I have eventually had it repaired by another shop around one third of this place's estimate ($1500) and looks like new again. If you have insurance to cover the full cost that is probably fine to go there. One good thing though was their estimate software was fairly detailing about all the items and billing information. read more

I took an older car here for repairs a while back and all went well. So when my brand new Acura RDX was hit and our insurance company had Patterson on its list of recommended shops, I took it there. The car was done on time and looks great. It was so new it really didn't need detailing, but they washed and vacuumed it before I picked it up. Just called to get a quote about getting a bumper painted. The woman answering the phone immediately started telling me how they were high end and weren't for me. Since I was asking for a quote that I must want something cheap. She then asked if I wanted them to put it on and I told her my husband was planning on doing it. She then became very rude and told me that they wouldn't be interested in doing it for me. They only will do the work if they are doing the whole project and then hung up on me. I understand if they want to do the whole job but this is no way to tell someone that. She has no idea of my budget either and made it out that they were better off without my business because I simply asked for a quote. I will never take my business there again. read more

I will say that when my Toyota Tacoma truck was struck from behind and needed to get fixed, I was worried. I'm VERY particular of how I maintain my truck, both mechanically and aesthetically. My primary concern was the truck will never be the same as when it was 'born'. I Iooked for shops that had good reviews, were big and well lit.... Patterson is my answer.. I stopped in and met Meghan. She was very pleasant and handled all of the insurance paperwork, including the rental vehicle logistics. Once I got the call that the work was completed, I looked it over carefully for the color matching and parts fitment (and even closer when I got home). I found absolutely NOTHING amiss and in perfect alignment.. I'm known by a few close friends and family to be a fanatic about certain things and one person said that Patterson will have the "customer from Hell". Patterson hit it out of the park! We were referred to Patterson Autobody by the dealer we bought our car at, Village Subaru when it needed bodywork done. The damage that needed to be fixed was to the right rear bumper and wheel well. We gave a copy of the insurance adjuster's notes to the owner, Frank Patterson Sr. He told us it would take a week to fix. We left him the car for 2 weeks while we were on vacation, but it still wasn't ready when we returned. It took 16 days. After driving the car for a few weeks, we noticed the bumper was separating from the car. We called the shop to schedule a time to bring it back and left the car. They called us 24 hrs. later saying the car was ready for pick-up. They determined the problem was the clips holding the bumper had given out, said it was rare, and replaced them. When we picked up the car, they had already closed, but it was obvious to our untrained eyes that the bumper still did not sit correctly on the car. We had to call them back and go in a third time. They made my husband wait while they took apart the car, but more importantly were rude to him throughout the process. The technician told him the problem was the replacement bumper they used to do the initial repair was defective. He was told to come back a fourth time to drop the car for repairs the next day, Friday 8/5/11, and it would be ready for pick-up Monday 8/8/11. Given that they would need to order a new bumper, install it, and have our insurance company, approve the charges, we were concerned this timetable was not realistic since business tends to move slower, if at all, on the weekend. You can appreciate that the area we live in does not have a subway or bus system. This makes being without a car difficult, especially for us, as my husband is active duty military and gone often during odd hours, including weekends. Dealing with Patterson's business hours of 8am-5pm was extremely difficult, however, at the prospect of having to do it a fourth time we didn't think it was unreasonable to ask if they might be willing to provide us with a loaner vehicle. When we voiced our concerns to the technician and asked if we might be able to get a loaner car for the weekend things started to get ugly. The technician said, "This wasn't Patterson's problem and if we ever wanted the car fixed we would need to deal with it," along with some other choice words. We took our concerns to the owner, Frank Patterson Sr., asking if they would be able to stick to the timetable given and if a loaner car might be provided given they did not accurately diagnose or fix the problem the second time we were in. Frank became so aggressive over the phone that we had to get our insurance company involved. He screamed at my wife, called her names, told her that he took zero responsibility for the problem, and told her never to call or come back onto his property. In the end we followed the advice of our insurance company. We dropped the car for the fourth (hopefully final) time after business hours and picked it up after business hours. The insurance company coordinated everything with the shop so we did not have to speak to anyone again. Our insurer was horrified to hear the way Frank Sr. spoke to us, especially my wife and has flagged Patterson Autobody in their system. read more

Previously, I had good experiences with Patterson. However, this time has been a disaster. I just picked up my car and the wheel nuts on both rear tires were coming off. I complained to Frank and he suggested that it was because someone was trying to steal my wheels but stopped and replaced the wheel caps after loosing the nuts. This was after having to put the car in for a second time because they neglected to complete the work that was originally requested. Additionally, instead of repairing the passenger mirror as requested, they GLUED it on angled in such a way that the driver only sees the ground and can no longer be adjusted. I highly recommend NOT taking your vehicle to Patterson Autobody in Stow. read more

I took my car recently to Pattersons for an estimate - a ladder on the side of my car in my yard that I didnt know what there, attacked me and scratched a pretty long scratch down the left side of my car. $700 was the estimate; have to remove the door, quarter panel, paint, would take 3-4 days, I'd have to get a rental. WRONG. Went to Auto Body Center in Hudson Mass, a few miles down the road. $225.00. Done in one day, you'd never know it was there. All they had to do was buff it out. Patterson - really? Remove the door? 3-4 days? I think not and will think again before I go back there. read more

There is alot to be said for taking your car to be repaired after an accident and know you can forget about it and it will be like new and to your satisfaction when you pick it up. They finished on the timeline they gave me and my car looked great! I did not have to worry about leaving valuables in my car as I knew they would be untouched. Brought my car for a front end repair after a hit and run. I chose this shop because it is close to our place and is in the accredited list of my insurance. Totally not satisfied with the quality of work -- head lights are not aligned properly, big gap between hood and grill, missed repairing damaged paint on lower portion of the bumper and imperfections on the repainted hood (dust and dirt in the paint). Frank Jr, the owner of the shop, has no customer service skills and was very rude when presented with the quality of work done to my car. I can't believed that he said: "A Ferrari in the shop has imperfect lines also and the car cost $250,000". So I should accept the fact the headlights and body panels are fine if they are obviously out of alignment because my car is nowhere near the price of the Ferrari? They need to have a reality check on the mission statement posted in their website. read more
